The pop-up menu I added to a button disappears

When I add a pop-up menu to a button symbol I've created, all
is well until I click on "done." Then, when I click on the + sign
for that button, it says "Add Pop-up Menu..." as if I hadn't added
it already. When I click on "Add Pop-up Menu..." again, nothing's
there.
I'm using Fireworks CS4 for the Mac. I've used Fireworks MX
on my PC for many years, and have never had this problem.

I found a bizarre work around for the pop-up menus that will
not seem to retain any changes made in the pop-up menu editor. As
soon as you finish making the changes in the editor and hit Done,
go to the library (either document library or common library) and
double click on the symbol to which the pop-up menu is attached.
Click the Edit button. Then finish the editing by hitting the left
arrow at the top left of the workspace. Now the changes to the
pop-up menu have been saved.

Your profile shows Mac OS X (10.6.8) so it seems you are using Numbers version 2.x
Numbers 2 does not have the ability to sort Pop-Up Menu entries (except by a painful process of adding or subtracting entries in Inspector).
Numbers 3 makes Pop-Up Menus a breeze. But it is your choice whether to update to OS X Mavericks and Numbers 3 . Some features have been lost, other features have been added, and there are some workarounds.

After I click on bookmark icon & it turns gold, the pop up menu that lets me add tags, folders, etc doesn't come up.

What happens when you click the star (now colored gold) a second time? See the steps in the process of adding a bookmark by the method you are using. Step 1, step 2....

I am trying to construct a 2D graph in Numbers 3.5 (2109) that shows at two time points the voting intentions by political party. The instruction given by Help is below, but I cannot find the bottom bar or the pop-up box.
Switch rows and columns as data series
When you add a chart, Numbers defines default data series for it. In most cases, if a table is square or if it’s wider than it is tall, the table rows are the default series. Otherwise, the columns are the default series. You can change whether rows or columns are the data series.
Select the chart.
Choose Plot Columns as Series or Plot Rows as Series from the pop-up menu in the bottom bar.

Click once on the chart (graph) to select it. Then click on Edit Data References. The pop-up appears bottom left of the Numbers window.

Does the Pop-Up Menu causes the Video a small jump to the closest Pop-Up chapter?

I have setted five Pop-up Chapter Menu for my project but after burning the blu ray, I have notice the vidoe coming close to one of the Pop-up Chapter will a small jump to the pop-up point. It happens to all of the Pop-Up chapter. Is there a way to make the movie smooth without the slight jump when approaching the Pop-up point. Also is there a away to view the pop-up menu when I build the project to ensure it is working? I cannot find on the Encore help menu, thanks for reading.

Bummer. Could be a problem with the MBP drive. Are you using Re-writable discs maybe?
Check the discs work in your HP machine. They may have burnt but not successfully. Your HP machine may not be able to open them either.
Have you considered using a USB flash device to transfer the photos, or just copy them over your home network? CD is a slow an cumbersome method.

Put "Background from Layer" in the pop-up menu of the layer

Sometimes you need to convert a layer into a background. There is an option "Background from Layer" in the Layer menu and it is good where it is, but I think it would be good and very intuitive to add it also to the pop-up menu of the layers in the layers palette in the same way that a background layer has the option "Layer from Background..."

In the meantime, I've found it easy to write and action and assign an f-key to it.
With CS6 it's important to keep in mind that if you change your bottom layer to Background AND you've cropped your image using the new crop tool, you will lose the "hidden, but still there" part of your image. When the layer once again becomes "Background" you have, in effect, used the old crop tool and lost your way back to the hidden pixels.
It becomes a decision of what you want for that particular image: a larger file size but a way back to the original or a smaller but final file size with no way back.

Tabs on Top option doesn't show up in the pop-up menu when I Control-click on an empty section of the Tab Strip in Firefox 15 on MacBook.

I just updated my Firefox web browser to version 15.0 on my MacBook. I am really used to have Tabs under Address Bar. However, when I Control-click on an empty section of the Tab Strip, there is no "Tabs on Top" option in the pop-up menu.
Any suggestion on how to find this option would be appreciated.

That changed in Firefox 15 and is now a hidden preference; the default is for Tabs on Top to be on. To turn Tabs on Top off, you must use about:config. The instructions are the last item on the following page. I have also included a link on how to use about:config

I am running CC 2014.2.1 and I've updated to Yosemite. Not seeing tree or frame as an option in the menu. Coworker still on Mavericks has it.

Why am I unable to update my Firefox 3.0 when the pop-up menu tells me that the download was complete?

I am repeatedly told to upgrade my version of Firefox.
Each time I attempt this, whether I disable my anti-virus software (AVG) or not, I get a pop-up menu telling me the download was completed but I still seem to be on the 3.0 version.

Add custom menu styles to the Pop-up Menu Editor

I have tried using the instructions that Adobe gives me to do this but it doesn't work. They tell me to save a style library in the "Menu Bars" folder. I searched my computer and I only have one Menu Bars folder. The path is Adobe Fireworks CS5/Configuration/Common Library/Menu Bars. All of the files in there are .png not .stl. files.
I want to have a custom parchment background for my pop-up menu. Has anyone done this and can you please tell me how to do it on a Mac.

Frankly, I wouldn't waste my time. The pop up menus in FW are old code and a real mess to deal with once the menu has been exported. There are far better resources out there, from the Spry menus in DW, to commerical products from Project Seven.

Help with transparent background for the pop up menu!

I am working on a Web site which has a pop up menu created in Dreamweaver 8. The pop up is over a picture and I'm thinking about to make its background transparent. I'm not really a programmer to be able to do it manually but I'm familiar with JS. Would anybody be able to help me with this? I truly appreciate it.

You do have to click and hold down on any tool icon with a small triangle in the lower right.
The second method is to right-click on the tool.

Adding to the pop up menu in ibooks

Is there a way to add entries to the iPad dictionary or use your own dictionary in iBooks?

I checked out some of the dictionary apps, and from what I can tell, you need to leave the iBooks app, go to the dictionary app, then return. Not very convenient. I read a lot of science and technical books, and use one of the online dictionaries if I need it.
Remember, all of these apps like iBooks are very early products. Maybe in a few months they'll do more. Also, the memory limitations of the iPhone/iPad don't allow huge complex dictionaries.

Is there a way to customize categories in the pop-up menu on the Transactions page for Personal Budget without having to do it one by one?

I want to use the Personal Budget template but customize my own categories. I can change the categories on the Budget sheet and know how to add the new data to the graphs but I am having trouble on the Transactions sheet. I know when I click on a cell in the category section there is a drop down menu of catefories that I can edit in the data format option but do I have to do this for every cell? Is there a way to edit for all cells at once? Everytime I add a new cell its has the original categories and I would hate to have to format each one individually.

Set up one with the categories you want in the order you want.
Select the cell and press option-command-C to copy the format (style).
Select the cells you want to change and press option-command-V to paste the format (style) to those cells.
If all body cells in a column have the same style (in this case, 'same list'), added rows will adopt that style.
