Same issue here both with my iphone 5S as well as my iPad2. THe sync to my macbook air does not complete and it shows a large overcapacity level when connected, but once I disconnect there is plenty of room (4 GB) available, not a 20 GB overage.

my iphone 5 is very slow after upgrading to ios8. What to do? Can I revert to ios7?

    Hello, RobRey77
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are some troubleshooting steps that I would recommend going through when experiencing this issue.
    Resolution
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.

    Hello alicelan,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with device errors. You may want to consider restoring your device to factory settings to resolve the issues you've described:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings
Restoring iOS software deletes all your data and content from your device, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar info.
    Before you restore your device
Make sure you’re using the latest version of iTunes.
Use iTunes to back up your device. Transfer and sync any additional content to your computer.
Turn off Find My iPhone in Settings > iCloud on your device to disable Activation Lock.
    Restore your iOS device
Connect your iOS device to your computer using the cable that came with it.
Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes. In the Summary panel, click Restore.
Click Restore again to confirm that you want to restore your device to factory settings and delete all data and content. iTunes will download the iOS software file and restore your iOS device.
After your iOS device is restored to factory settings, it will restart. Once it does, you’ll see the "Slide to set up” welcome screen. Follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. You can set up your device as new or using a previous backup. If your iOS device has cellular service, it will activate after you restore.

If you get an error message, find out how to fix most update and restore errors.
If your iOS device with cellular service doesn’t activate after restoring, find out how to fix activation issues.
If your iOS device restarts repeatedly or isn’t responding, for example if you see a stopped progress bar or no progress bar, put the device into recovery mode and restore it again.

  • Iphone 5s Data/baterry issue after upgrade IOS 8.2

    Hi,
I updated my iPhone 5s to iOS 8.2, and now I have the below issues:
Network Signal in an area where i have full signal before now it is weak. I have also lost all Data Connection in an area where i always get 4g
Battery big problem, since I need to charge at least 2 times during the day, and night time with all apps off if I have left 40% battery the phone will go off at 06 a.m.
My WI-FI keeps losing connecting for any apps, this is not an issue with my provider since all other devices work fine.
Phone temperature will go high, enough to fry an egg.
I did install the IOs 8.2 a second time using Itunes SW and did not improve a bit.
What should I do to have this fix? I don't have any more a smart phone or a mobile phone.
Is Apple doing all these SW releases with a proper test?
I'm very good engineer, if required I can help to improve this service.... , well only if this is a way to sell more Iphones 6?
    Regards
    Marcos

    Hi mbmarcos2,
I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with your iPhone; I know how frustrating that can be. If you continue to have multiple issues with your iPhone, especially if they began shortly after a software update/upgrade and persist after a reinstall, you may want to make sure you have your data backed up, then try restoring your iPhone to factory settings (which will install a fresh copy of the OS) and testing it in that default state before moving your data back. • Iphone 4 wont play videos after upgrade ios 4.3.2

I wonder if anybody can poine me in the right direction.
I have an Iphone 4 running the latest iOS 4.3.2, the problem is that I can't play non-native videos on my iphone using Apps such as Azul Media Player or VLC. Both afore mentioned Apps are supposed to make viewing of non-native formats such as .mpeg. avi, etc possible, - indeed they DID prior to latest iOS upgrade.
Now it might be worth mentioning that Ive upgraded my iphone to latest iOS but Ive also installed a new Windows based PC at home. I'll tell you why ive mentioned this.
Originally video files where imported to my iPhone via Itunes which was running on an old X86 Windows Based PC - Windows XP Pro SP3
verything was fine, no problems importing using iTunes File Sharing and equally no problems viewing videos using Azul Media Player.
Yesterday seems to be where everything seemed to go heywire!
I took delivery of a new Acer AX3950 Computer running 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium.
I installed 64-bit Itunes then reinstalled a back-up of data from DVD which contained all Music Albums, Apps etc. I then connected my iPhone 4 to my new PC and sync'd - everyhting went smoothly just as anticipated, all data restored lost nothing.
Then, Im prompted to upgrade to latest iOS 4.3.2, which I did.
All files downloaded, unpacked and went thought the verification process with Apple Inc, iPhone was preparred to receive latest iOS then the installation began, - and subsequently failed before completion. I was then offered the choice of performing a recovery - losing all Music Albums, Apps restoring my Iphone to its native factory settings, - which was my only option at this stage. So, I opted to perform a recovery, - which failed also!
Now im left with an iPhone 4 in my hand which is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. There was a picture on the screen which depicted a USB data cable with the words Recovery Mode above. Then, low and behold, I had a bright spark of an idea...
I went and fetched my old X86 based Windows XP Pro SP3 computer set it up and connected my iPhone to one of the USB ports.
Then I opened iTunes which detected the phone was in recovery mode and asked if I wanted to Recover my iPhone installing latest iOS and returning it to native factory settings, - again, I had no other option, so I went ahead.
Once again iOS 4.3.2 was downloaded from Apple, unpacked, verified, iPhone was prepared etc..
installation began and continued successfully including reboot, - Yippie! My iPhone 4 sprung into life!
I was then offered the choice of restoring all data from a recent back-up - which I did. After almost 2 hours (despite iTunes contdown timer continually saying 7 minutes remaining) I finally restored my iphone back to what I thought was it's fully working condition. Well almost, apart from the video rendering issue as mentioned.
Now, if you're still with me, - and God knows I hope you are..
    This is what I'm wondering..
Why is it I can't play non-native video files on my iPhone 4 since upgrade to latest iOS 4.3.2?
Please help if you can it would be greatly appreiated. - my iPhone is bog-standard issue, all Apps have been purchased via App Store and the phone has not been tampered with - i.e. Jailbroken.
    Yours with much respect.
    Edward of Derby

I have the same EXACT problem.  it won't play some of my videos, any youtube videos (says it cannot connect to server) and won't play a lot of other internet videos

Music on my iPhone has become very difficult to edit since upgrading to 5.0.1.  If I simply want to delete some songs, it insists on a complete sync cycle after EACH one I delete.  This is so annoying… (I have over 400 Christmas songs I won't need until next year) I have also noticed it randomly keeps updating album artwork…adding more time to each sync.  Is there some way I can turn off the syncing until I have picked and deleted all the songs I want?

The cause was probably a USB glitch during a sync or when copying. The music resides on the phone in separate files. A master file contains a database with an index to the music, an entry for each track and a "pointer" to the file containing the track. Somehow the index got corrupted with duplicate entries. It's likely that the music itself wasn't duplicated, but some tracks had more than one entry in the database. I've seen this happen when syncing (rather than manually managing) also. In my case deleting the track from the Music tab in iTunes, syncing, then adding it back fixed it.
A related problem I've seen is an album may be split, with some tracks in each of 2 or more album entries in the listing. Fixed the same way.

I have found that my iphone 5 becomes very hot. What can I check or turn off to cool it down?

    Put the device down occasionally.
    Cut back on game playing.
Kill any apps running in the background.
Basic troubleshooting from the Users Guide is reset, restart, restore. Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

My Macbook Pro purchased Dec 2011 has suddenly become very slow after not using for 2 weeks (close to frozen). What is the problem and how to solve it?

    Need Help Ye,
boot your MacBook Pro into Recovery mode by holding down a Command key and the R key as it starts up. Once the Mac OS X Utilities menu appears, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Is it still very slow?
