The Problem is Solved
My problem is that when during a new windows 2000 installation, windows can`t find the Sata-disk.
I have followed the instructions in the quick user guide, but that doesnt work at all.
I have tried installing all the drivers for the sata controller but nothing work.
In the Serial Ata menu i choose Auto Setup Fastbuild, and i have tried it myself too.
But everything is ok in this menu they find the drive without a problem.
I have a Cd-rom connected to the Ide 2 (Master)
MSI K7N2-Delta-ILSR nForce2 Ultra 400
Athlon XP2500+ Barton
2x TwinMOS Original 256Mb DDR-DIMM PC2700/DDR333
Albatron GeForce4 MX440-8X 64Mb
Hitachi Deskstar 13G0253 120Gb 7200rpm 8Mb 8.5ms SATA
And now i need help, becouse i only get mad about this problem.
Yes i have done that.
Its after the menu in the installation when you can choose enter to install the windows or press r for repair the system. I press enter to install and then "no harddrive can be found, check the cables and if you have the right drivers bla.bla"
I have tried all the alternatives that you can choose in the boot menu in bios. first boot cd-rom. Sec Ide 0, Ide 1, Ide 2, Ide 3, Scsi and more.
I have pressed F6 and installed the drivers who comes with the diskett, like i did write above, have tried all the drivers too on the diskett.
And in the Sata menu i have used the Auto Setup FastBuild, and i have done it myself. (I can only do it in one way anyway)
And the big problem is that the sec computer we have ordered have the same motherboard and Sata-disk, and will arrive tomorrow.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
* [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx Microsoft Safety Scanner]
* [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware]
* [http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363 TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility]
* [http://www.surfright.nl/en/hitmanpro/ Hitman Pro]
* [http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/ ESET Online Scanner]
[http://windows.microsoft.com/MSE Microsoft Security Essentials] is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]] article.

There was also a problem with postscript fonts in OSX 10.6.7 for which Apple issued a patch on their software update page.
To find a problem font, try shutting down half your open fonts in Font Book, until the problem goes away. Then replace the problem font.

WD Intellipark - has the problem been solved?
Hey folks,
I want to buy a new hard disk for my arch server. I need a capacity of ~1TB and I also want to make sure, that the emission (noise, heat) and power consumption is very low.
My search for a suitable hard drive led me to the Green series of Western Digital. After some research I found out, that there was a problem with Linux and those hard drives special "function" called Intellipark [1].
Now my question is if this problem is still present or if it has been fixed? I did not find any information on the internet so I would guess that there is nothing new on this topic.
In this case, could you guys suggest me a good hard drive that suites my needs and works fine with Linux (without installing workarounds like idle3-tools).
Thanks in advance!

All of them had mentioned issue but there is solution for it, and in fact, in my opinion, better that doing something with system configs for power manager - you can download apps named wdidle.exe*** (it's on many cd with managament utilities) and boot it. You have disable all disk, connect only WD, than you can do a change in firmware by typing /d /r /s and it's done. I did it for all my disk. Of course, there is one problem with it - changing this options in firmware causes that heads won't click so many times but i don't know if power manager from hdparm will work. I did some setup in hardparm, but don't know if it works with changed option if firmware.
BTW - if you don't like what you did with firmware, you can enable heard parking the same way.
*in fact this apps is recorded on a bootable CD

I have iTunes version 11.3.1.2 and a Windows 7 Professional aith Service Pack 1. When I try to print a CD cover from a disc I burned, I get an error message that stops the printing task and shuts down iTunes and tells me once the problem is found they will notify me. When this happened before I got sent a message from Apple that I needed to install a new verion of iTunes. I believe I now have the latest iTunes version. So why can't I print?
Is this the problem below? Does the graphics driver cause the problem?
Solve a problem with NVIDIA Graphics Driver
NVIDIA Graphics Driver has stopped working properly.
A driver update, if available, might prevent this problem from recurring.Try a different media. I have good luck using Maxell discs.

A simple problem to solve... I hope.
$A simple problem to solve... I hope. Hi Guys,
This is my first post on this forum, and I'm hoping that the problem I'm encountering at the moment is down to my own stupidity rather than technical issues.
Firstly, I should mention that I have used my X-fi sound blaster xtreme audio card for months now in my old PC which was running XP 32 bit with no problems whatsoever. In the last day I've built a new PC which has the following specs:
Intel I7 860
tb HDD
4gb Ram
Windows 7 Ultimate 64
Nvidia GTX280
Sound was very quiet and of a fairly poor quality to begin with, and I soon realised that I hadn't installed any drivers for the soundcard, so I went ahead and did so. Following this, I enter a **bleep**storm of illogical proportions which to me makes absolutely no sense.
I get no sound from my speakers or headphones whatsoever. I have a pair of M-Audio AV-40 monitors at the moment, and no matter what I try, I can't get sound to work. When I go to the mixer, it seems odd to me
http://yfrog.com/7fxfiproblemj
I thought that there would be options for Line Outs etc, but I may be wrong.
I've run the diagnostic tests and everything comes back absolutely fine.
The weirdest thing however is the fact that when I test the speaker configuration, it responds to nothing except from the 7. surround sound, and my speakers react to the bottom left and bottom right speakers. I've tried installing, re-installing drivers no end. Looked for fixes and checked google as well and found nothing that matches the description of my problem.
Am I missing out on something really obvious here? Or is there a more technical underlying factor ?behind this issue.
Any help is hugely appreciated, thanks? Thanks for all of you help, but I still don't think the problem's solved.
Here's the problem explained more thouroloy. I have a java program that uses lots of jar files. That means that to run my program, I need to have the CLASSPATH set to pick up all of these jar files. I'd also like to be able to give someone a copy of this program on a cd and have them immediately run it without having to assume anything about their configuration (except that they have java installed).
So what I did was create a batch file that (at least temporarily) sets up the CLASSPATH to meet my needs. It then calls "java myProgram <all the other parms...>".
Things run fine, except that the command window that gets opened up stays around while Swing program runs, and doesn't close until I close the Swing program. I'd like that that didn't happen.
-- echo off
Not going to do anything to help. It will stop the batch commands from echoing, but that's about it.
-- javaw
I tried this and it also doesn't work. It seems that neither java nor javaw return until after the program that it is running actually end.
-- Executable jar
Sounds promising, but will it work? How do I make sure the CLASSPATH is properly set before running this?
Thanks again for all of your hlep.

Obscure Nano and Mini XP USB Driver Problem Finally Solved
I had a rather obscure USB driver registry problem that few others would probably have, but this might be helpful.
I was unable to get Windows XP SP2 Media Center Edition to properly recognize either my iPod Mini or Nano 3rd generation. The iPods would be seen by XP in Device Manager (would show Apple iPod USB Driver) when connected, but would immediately disconnect. The Apple iPod USB Driver properties would then show “This device cannot start (Code 10).”
I first tried all the Apple-recommended fixes: the five Rs; reinstalling the Apple iPod USB driver; disconnecting all other USB devices; switching USB plug-in points; putting the iPod into Drive Mode; and all the other things shown in the troubleshooting guide “iPod shows up in Windows but not in iTunes,” http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93716
None of the above worked. And on occasion after uninstalling and reinstalling the iPod USB driver, I would get a blue screen with the error message “driverirql_not_less_orequal,” sometimes followed by stop codes and something called “USBPORT.SYS.”
Apple phone support was unable to help, claiming that XP Media Center Edition was not supported, though the problem appeared to have no relation to MCE versus Home or Pro.
Then I finally stumbled onto the solution. I previously had installed a USB drive encryption program (NTINinja) on my computer. Although I had uninstalled the program months earlier, it had left a registry entry which was interfering with the iPods. When I deleted the registry entry, the problem was solved.
Those of you having similar recognition problems as described above might check Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, Universal Serial Bus Controllers, USB Root Hub, Properties, Details, then select Class Lower Filters in the drop-down box. If there is an entry, that might be the problem.
To get rid of the entry, first write down what it is. Then go to Start, Run, Regedit. Backup the registry (File, Export). Then go to Edit, Find, and type in the suspect entry. It should find the registry key containing the entry in HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\.
Right click on the LowerFilters key and select Modify. Then delete the suspect entry. Close the registry editor. You might have to reboot – can’t remember.
I can’t guarantee the above is completely accurate, but it may help someone.OK now! Dag, I was going crazy. I had two brand new Raptors and was trying to hook them up in a RAID 0 config. I am no dummy. It would hang at detecting arrays. I could not figure it out for the life of me. I will not talk about all of the combos that I tried. My buddy told me to try datalifeguard from WD. I did. Well, one HD showed no serial number in the extended test. An error message popped up. Said the drive was not working. So, Newegg sends me a dead drive and wastes days and days out of my life. I hooked up the one good drive just now. What do I see? For the first time in my life, I am seeing the raid bios! This almost cost me a divorce. Seriously though, the wife would come in and rub my shoulders like a fighter after a few hours of getting my azz whipped by this new rig. I am now going to make the floppy with the newer drivers like was done here. Just incase. I am in Raid bios now in the other room. Time to go set up XP on one drive for now. I refuse to wait for the RMA'ed second Raptor.

Question
I am not able to launch FF everytime i try to open it, it says FF has to submit a crash report, and restore yr tabs. I even tried doing that and the report was submitted too, but still FF did not start, and the problem still persists, please help me solve this issue
'''(in English)'''Hi Danny,
Per my understanding that you can't get the expect result by using the expression "=Count(Fields!TICKET_STATUS.Value=4) " to count the the TICKET_STATUS which value is 4, the result will returns the count of all the TICKET_STATUS values(206)
but not 180, right?
I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, the issue caused by you are using the count() function in the incorrect way, please modify the expression as below and have a test:
=COUNT(IIF(Fields!TICKET_STATUS.Value=4 ,1,Nothing))
or
=SUM(IIF(Fields!TICKET_STATUS=4,1,0))
If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.
Regards,
Vicky Liu

This is regarding a brand new ASUS PA 279Q, 2560 x 1440 IPS monitor. I'm connected via mini display port (into thunderbolt port on MacBook Pro) to display port on ASUS monitor; using cable ASUS included with the monitor. Mid 2012 MacBook Pro…full specs at bottom of this post.
I have resolution set at 2560 x 1440 which is the native resolution according to the ASUS spec. I tried the other resolutions available in my System Preferences and text displayed rough with those settings too. I've tried adjusting contrast, brightness and sharpness via the ASUS control panel and didn't solve the problem. Also tried calibrating via Mac's system preferences/display and that did not improve text display either. All the text on this monitor (no matter what software I launch, Finder, InDesign, Illustrator, MS Word, Excel, VMWare Windows XP, Windows versions of Word, Excel, Acrobat, etc, all are consistently rendering text the same way --- ROUGH and with "HALOS" around each letter.
All point sizes of text and at various scales, display very rough on the screen. (My comparison is the retina display of my MBP and a Thunderbolt…so those two displays are my expectations.) I'm using the same MBP for both a Thunderbolt display (at work) and this ASUS at my home office.
On the ASUS it's not as noticeable when the text is on white backgrounds, but I'm a graphic designer and compose images with text all day everyday. Not to mention the specs on this ASUS PA279Q indicate it's built for the professional so I would expect better text rendering. I haven't even addressed color calibration and balance yet, because that won't matter to me if the text won't display any better than it is now.
I was so hopeful after researching all the specs on this monitor it would be a viable alternative to the glossy display of the Thunderbolt display. (Which, I do love the Thunderbolt display for it's clarity and how it displays crisp, clean text at all sizes. (This ASUS actually displays text decently if I increase the text so each letter is about 4" high. Which is pointless for practical purposes -- that'd be like doing page layout through a microscope!)
I kept holding off on getting a monitor for the home office thinking the Thunderbolt would be updated soon. I'd be sick if I dropped a grand on piece of 2011 technology only to learn a few days later an updated Thunderbolt display hit the market! Not to mention, I'm praying Apple comes out with a less reflective Thunderbolt display. The glare and reflection is the main reason I looked elsewhere for a large monitor; hence my asking for help. Hoping the ASUS text display issue can be worked out. My expectation is for it to display like the MBP retina and Thunderbolt display text. That possible?
Alternatively, I guess I could do the Apple Refurb Thunderbolt at $799. And see if there's a decent aftermarket anti-glare I could stick on it?
Thanks for reading my post. Hope someone can help; offer any suggestions? Words or wisdom?
Has anyone else had similar issues and figured out a resolution? Help!
MacBook Pro
Retina, Mid 2012, 2.3 Ghz Intel i7
8GB 1600 MHz DDR3
OS X 10.8.5
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
ASUS PA279QI uninstalled those two items. It still runs slow on start-up and when opening safari, firefox, iphoto, itunes, etc. It's not snappy like it used to be. Any other ideas? Thanks.

J. AalbersShouldn't really be the MPE at fault here ... what is the codec of the footage/sequence/project?
Second, can you create a new project in PrPro, then in the media browser, import that sequence from the other project?
