The quality of Macbook babies

Hello everybody,
I'd like to buy in the future a Macbook 1.83GHz computer. The white one. But when I reading the forums and have some advices from my collegue I really started to think about the Mac quality. Macbook has a lot of problems especially with blinking screen, unexpected shotdowns and HDD failures. My collegue bought Macbook arount 1 year ago and have had one HDD crash - Apple replace the HDD, but unfortunately after the disk replaced, he has random shutdowns right now. Guys in Apple said that it can be a problem with motherboard, so they pushed him to leave his mac for the repair once again. Well, it is worst then PCs IMHO somethimes.
I thought that Apple it's a sign of quality, what do you think about it?
When I start to read the posts on the discussion forums, I'm not sure do I should to buy this product or wait for better quality and improvements? What are yours advices, anybody read the customer problems from Apple, what they saying? If I go to the store and buy the Macbook, then I'll go to troubles with all the issues uncovered on this forums, so buy or not to buy?

Well curently I'm not a Mac user, I have PC with Debian installed on it. And I'm very happy. When I saw Tiger and had read something about the architecture of this OS, I've checked support for my usually used apps (VIM,OpenOffice,Firefox, LaTeX2e etc.) I start to think about Tiger - simple and with power of Unix, well..., will fit my expectations I thought.
Then the next think is to read the forums and reviews, opinions before going to the store and then I found diffrent posts plus my collegue case - HDD falure and RSD after the HDD replaced. That's why I asked the community about yours experience.
So what is your advice, should I asked about the all issues which I can find on the internet in the store before buying my first Mac, what they can to say?
I know that HDD fails time to time, but this one was rather new. I hadn't have any problems with my PC-like HDD for years. What about the discolouration of Mac cases, overheating and so on?
Forget about it and go to the store?

The quality of built-in camera on macbook pro with retina display is far worse than any other mac. Why?

I just got the new macbook pro with retina display like a week ago and I've been noticing that the quality of the built-in camera on it is so bad.
It's even worse than my 2009 iMac or my sister's 2012 13" macbook pro. I don't get why this is a facetime HD built-in camera when i can obviously see that is not even near HD. Or is it just my computer. Do i have to bring it to the apple store??

it's advertised 720p so yes it is the same as all the other MBP. it may just be the resolution of your monitor is stretching the pixels. Don't worry about bringing it to the apple store.

You would do that with Preview.
If the photos are in iPhoto you an export them at reduced quality.
File -> Export

AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer).
On the basis of the specifications you have given for your set up, mirroring should work.

Why is the quality of my new album so low

I purchased the George Ezra album over iTunes and it is in my iTunes Match fine but the quality of the playback is pretty poor. All the songs on the album seem too "loud" and they are distorting at the loud bits of the song. This happens on all my devices I used iTunes Match on which include: iPhone, Macbook pro, Windows desktop.
I have listened to the same album on Youtube and there is none of the quality issues I am getting from the album over iTunes.
I have tried Googling for a solution but can't seem to find much, I have played around with the equaliser within iTunes but even then I can't get it perfect.
Any help or advice would be appreciated

So the pictures hardly show a difference, but both my friend and I agree that there is a clear differene the picture quality of my laptop and the monitor.

Why does the quality of my images change after I click on Save For Web?

After I click on "Save For Web" the quality of my images changes, how can I stop this?
I use photoshop CC on a macbook.

How to improve the quality of DVD?

I know that there is a option of best perfermance or best quality in the preference menu.
I have tried the "best quality" and encode a 1 hr. video from DV Cam , the size of the video is only around 2 G out of 4.2.
While I use my DVD HD recorder to make a DVD, I chose the best quality and the quality/resolution of the DVD is much better compare with the one made by the Mac book.
How can I increase the quality of DVD captured from DV cam?
Any helps?

there are no manual-settings in iDVD for setting bitrates...
to "set" the highest possible bitrate, make project shorter then <60min plus choose "Best performance"... (the naming is irritating... BP creates VBR, which is "better" compared to CBR, which is in iDVD-ish "Best Quality"...)

What's the most RELIABLE MacBook Pro ever?

Hi, my MacBook Early 2008 died last week.
The displays were flickering. I had connected an external Monitor "NEC PA 241 W".
At restart it got frozen during booting. Till switching-on the keyboad backlight it works fine, but then nothing.
The service told the logic board is brocken. It was already replaced due to the known graphic card issue. The new replacement cost should be born by me.
So I was looking for an other used MacBook. I nearly bought an late 2008 MacBook Pro.
But here is also a problem with flickering displays (see this threat over 84 pages https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1807105?start=1245&tstart=0 ).
Now I nearly lost my confidence in the Apple engineers. Is it only good design and marketing?
Who do have the overview and could recommend a rearly RELIABLE MacBook Version ( to be used with a second monitor attached).

Using Mac's for 24 years, I can say the quality has dropped a bit since the Intel switch.
In fact now with my new $4000 17" MacBook Pro I don't use the keyboard, trackpad at all, hardly use the Sueprdrive and keep the flat surface covered by the packaging.
People think I'm crazy until I show them a 2007 machine, only 4 years old.
The keys are a bit weak (but I hit them rather hard so) and the Superdrive had to be replaced, the trackpad button got all scratched form just thumb use (how I don't have a clue)
So my $900 value machine is too ugly to sell at a good price, so it's used for experimental purposes.
I was hoping when I bought it I would get a lot more life out of it than 4 years. It's still a powerful machine, just ugly now.
Perhaps I could send it in and get the keyboard replaced and the whole case colorized.

Hi, when i stream with my iphone videos on my TV the quality is awsome.
when i mirror my mac on TV then the quality is very bad or the movie underruped.
Did anybody know WHY? and how i can fix the problem?

Ensure that other devices are not trying to stream to the same Apple TV at the same time.
Ensure that your Wi-Fi router is set up with the recommended settings for the best performance.
Certain external devices, such as microwave ovens and baby monitors, may interfere with a Wi-Fi network. Try moving or disabling these devices.
If possible, try to locate your Wi-Fi router in the same room as your iOS device and Apple TV.

Since you can see it in your device list it must have Find My Mac activated, but you're going to have to wait for them to take it online in order to either locate, lock or wipe it. Until it goes online you can't do anything. http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/find-my-device/

Format the external drive as FAT32 or ExFAT. Both computers will then be able to read and write to it.

I am having trouble keeping the quality of my video when exporting to my external drive. I change the kind to "original" but when I view the video from the external drive once exported, the sound and picture are distorted.

I have tried to export from iphoto with changing kind to "original" but when I open the video from the external drive the quality is effected. I have also tried copying the video to my desktop and then dragging and dropping onto the drive...same problem. Any suggestions? I would like to save everything to my external drive so that I can delete all of iphoto library and then reimport to correct a few things.

The file sizes are identical. In the finder I did a search for all .mov files. Then when they came up, I went through them and named each one so that they would be easier to find. I am a new mac user and am used to windows. I realized later that I should not have done this....with a mac files should be named within iphoto app...not finder....When I went to open the videos in iphoto, it wouldn't allow me. I had to go into finder, copy to desktop and reimport into iphoto. Then the videos worked again. However, I had the problem with the poor video quality when copied to external drive before that. Actually the first problem I had was when I copied to ext drive...videos were copying as an image...so I learned that you have to change "kind" to original before exporting....then that problem was solved...now they are videos, not images but not of a great quality. Skips, sound and images are not in sync...etc...

I have also turned the system off, for a period of time, and then turning it back on, when I click on Aperture, it comes up and locks in the thumbnail mode. I can view my stored pictures, even modify them, but it still says thumbnails.
I got in this mode by trying to import "one jpeg photo", from a scanned slide using a Nikon Scan4 IS5000ED scanner. I had saved the scan to my desktop before I tried to import it.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

What is the problem on MacBook Pro retina 15"?

I just bought a new MacBook Pro retina 15". After unboxing, I turned it on and there was no any problem. But the second time I turned it on and charge battery, I got 2 problems, 1. The machine made noise loudly and 2. The charging is not working. What is the problem on MacBook Pro retina 15"? However, after about 1 hour, it works normally. Should I still use it or sell it before it has more issues?
