Sorry all, a bit new to spreadsheets
I am creating a budget spreadsheet in Numbers to learn how it all works
I have a costing for Oil use; 12 monthly columns that are added together to produce a total for the year.
However there is a standing charge to be added to this for the oil tank and that is £60 per year.
So I started with a formula that states simply:
SUM(B6:M6)
This returns my yearly oil consumption cost but when I amend it to add the standing charge of £60p.a. like this
SUM(B6:M6)+60
I get the syntax error message "The range B6:M6 can't be used as a single value"
I am sure there must be an easy work around for this but I haven't found it yet.
Anyone got any thoughts ?

OK let me ask you about another instance.
I have a column and at the top I have my Income for that month and below I have expenses incurred during that month.
What I am aiming to do is out put the profit i.e. Income minys expenses.
If I do this:
I get an error
But if I do this
I get a result but obviously it shows my Profit as a negative number.
That's why I find it strange.
Simply reversing the order of the values stops the formula working.
In one case the "range" (B3:B8) is producing a number value, and in the other it isn't.

Error message: "The media can't be used because you don't have access privileges, or because it has no content or is corrupt."

I get the error message "The media can’t be used because you don’t have access privileges, or because it has no content or is corrupt." when I drag photos (or copy and paste photos) from iPhoto to Pages/Word.
It never used to do this and is really quite annoying, as I now have to find the file through finder to drag from there.
I had to rebuild the iPhoto library a few days ago, is it something to do with this?

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button,
navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I have SCOM 2012 installed to monitor environment with Exchnage 2010 SP3. There are 2 sites with Exchnage servers within the organization. There are 2 mailboxes being created to test both sites.
I am getting following alert:
Alert: WebServices connectivity (Internal) transaction failure - The credentials can't be used to test Web Services.
description: The test mailbox was not initialized. Run new-TestCasConnectivityUser.ps1 to ensure that the test mailbox is created.
Detailed information:

I have tried the next steps:
1. Verified that mailbox is exist and it's not locked (same for the second mailbox)
2. Deleted those mailboxes and created a new using new-TestCasConnectivityUser.ps1 verified that this mailbox is visible on all DC's accross the forest (both mailboxes)
and that temporary password was accepted;
3. Cleared the cache on the SCOM 2012;
4. Still getting the same alert
I will really appriciate any help.

I have 2 WFE behing F5 that handles ssl termination too. I have a site abc.xyz.com.
At aam i have
http://abc.xyz.com in default zone and https://abc.xyz.com in internal zone.
AT sharepoint content source; I have both http and https of the above site version.
DNS entry of abc.xyz.com is pointing at VIP in f5 which load balances this site at 2 different ips assigned to each web front end server.
Now when i run search in this content source, searchable item populates but there is error for http request telling An unrecognized HTTP response was received when attempting to crawl this item. Verify whether the item can be accessed using your browser.
Why is this happening?
Is it because requests are coming to f5 as https but search is returning it as http? Will SSL termination removal from f5 solve this issue which i really don't want to do? Will pointing dns entry to two ips in wfe instead of f5 VIP will work?

Restore from back-up now "The media can't be used because you don't have access privileges...."

My wife bought a new MBA and restored from back-up. Now when she tries to drag a photo from iPhoto into a Pages document, she get's the error "The media can't be used because you don't have access privileges, or because it has no content or is corrupt". Interestingly, there is no problem dragging the photo into the finder.

What versoin of iPhoto and system are you running - 9.4.3 and 10.8 4? How did you restore from the backup? Are you able to view the photos when you double click on them in iPhoto? If not what do you see?
If I've guessed the versions correctly Apply the following fix to your library:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Options #1 to repair permissions and #4 to rebuild the database.

I have no idea what ldap_bk is. That must be some internal share for backing up Open Directory automatically? It seems that whenever it happens, all my users get kicked off immediately, there's some remounting of all my drives, but AFP never recovers. Where is that job managed? Anyone know which launchd.plist? Is this even the problem? Any other ideas?

It is a brick! But I did somehow get into the iPhoto section and was able to find the Former owner that owned the iPad and was able to contact him VIA FaceTime. on my iMac. He was of little help because he was not the original owner, but he bought the iPad as I did from a huge supplier and i was able to contact that supplier who refused to give out any information about the previous owner. I had the iPad hooked up to my somehowiMac via the USB cable and went through the setup procedure to no avail. Then after pressing the Home button several times it somehow went to the iPhotos that were on the iPad? There were 2 pictures of the owners email address. I then copied them to my iMac and used iPhoto app to enlarge the photos. It worked.So there is a way,just takes time to somewhat hack into Find My iPad?Phone.
Personally, it is not Apple's responsibility to protect customers of their personal DATA. With such a high security application. Then of coarse it is a great idea. Then again it is the responsibility of the former owner to wipe and rest the iPad before reselling it. This being the case like those sold on eBay and elsewhere that are ID Locked should not be allowed to be sold. Personally the ID lock is much like a VIN number of a car. In most states one cannot sell a car without the VIN Numbers. Somewhat the same thing should be true of ID Locks
