The recipient name displayed on my received emails is incorrect

For the last week or so, all the emails that I have received to my account have the name of one of my friends displayed as the recipient, rather than my name in the address panel at the top. When I hover my mouse over the recipient name, both my friend's email details and my email details can be seen.
When I forward the email with the incorrect name displayed as recipient, the incorrect name does not appear. However, I am most concerned at the potential security and nuisance possibilities for my friend (and for me by the way). There is obviously something in the display settings that has gone awry, but I have searched the email account set up for a solution and cannot solve the problem.
Can anyone help, please?

My problem has not been solved by removing my name from my friend's address card. The recipient information now includes my email address, but is still directed to my friend's name.
I have checked in my address book, as suggested, to see which entry is designated as me, and the only email entry against my name is my work email, not my personal email address, which is the one with the problem.
I have tried to add another sender to my address book, but the function seems not to be responding to my request. Any advice?

imap.gmail is the Google mail server. It doesn't recognize the password that is stored in the iPhone. The problem is that the password or email address you have in Settings for the gmail account is wrong. If you changed the password somewhere else that is the reason. You need to go to Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendar, tap on the gmail account and enter the correct password. You also need to change it for outgoing mail in Settings.

Did you try to delete the mail account, restart the phone and add the mail account again?

To change your iCloud ID, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID. This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud. I have also deleted the account entirely from my address book. I have have run repair permissions and also full defrag in iDefrag. Still the problem persists. Any suggestions?

I noticed you posted this problem quite a while ago and wondered if you managed to have it fixed in an alternative way then posting here. It is too bad no one has posted a solution here. I have a similar problem and if you have had yours solved since this occurance how you accomplished it may help me with mine. I am interested to know what you have done about yours.

This may be an error caused by the update. You can try to sync your contact information with iCloud and backup the rest of your data and then restore the device and see if it starts to work normally again.

I read somewhere in this forum a long time ago that, in Mail, you cannot edit anything within received email for security reasons.
With Eudora, I have always done things such as reformatting the body text of received email by applying colors or making text bold, etc., in order to make the email useful to me.
Is there a way around in Mail to edit either the title or body text of received email?

About a month ago, I spend zillion hours to migrate from Eudora to Mail.
Eudora has been wonderful to me since Day 1 back in the early 90's. But, it has been discontinued as a commercial product. I had used the Japanese version of Eudora for several years, but it did not like communicating with Exchange at work.
I tried and tried various email clients before settling on Mail.
When I pictured interactions among my Mac, iPhone, and whatever email client I choose, Mail was just the simplest way. But, Mail is not Eudora. And, I dearly miss Eudora.
If there is no way to alter the contents of received email in Mail, I would have to adopt your approach on a case-by-case basis.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

It appears that All Photos is fixed at Keep Sorted by Date Added. I have 6450 photos.
But when I open the side bar and do a right click on iPhoto Events where I have 480 albums I get option to sort them by Name

Changed Sender name/address of previously received email?

Something weird is happening with my Apple Mail. I'm receiving some old messages that I already received last year, but the Sender name has been changed to a totally different person. That is, the re-sent message has the wrong Sender name and not the name of the sender who originally sent me the message. I've only received a couple of these messages but when I looked around in my mailbox, I noticed that this same thing has happened to other messages too.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is my mail getting too full? Any advice would be appreciated.

When I send a message to blueyonder the system says the message has been sent yet the recipient cannot find it in his emails or on the server.

I compose a message and press send. The system states that it connecting and then that the message has been sent. When the recipient looks for the message on his system and/or the server he cannot find the message. I have sent him messages direct from my server and also Outlook Express and he does get them it is only when using Thunderbird do the messages go missing. Do I have to use special settings to send messages to Blueyonder?

I'd suggest you contact your email provider. Similar problems have been reported from Virgin users.

How do I avoid the recipient of my Indesign PDF receiving a security warning when clicking on links?

I create PDF's out of Indesign to send to new clients. They contain links to external websites. They do not contain any javascript or videos or hidden links. If the PDF is opened in Adobe Reader, when the recipient clicks on a hyperlink in my PDF they get a security warning asking if they trust the site. How can I avoid the recipient receiving this Security Warning as it would scare people into thinking I had sent them something malicious when I haven't?

You cannot avoid it, that's part of the PDF security system to make the user aware that he is entering non-trusted area, as it is with every web page when it is opened the first time in Reader or Acrobat on this computer. ThatÄs an unchageable fact. You have to live with it.
