The registry for burning CDs is missing.

I  have tried reinstalling iTunes and using a tutorial to manually enter registry, but neither worked. Is ther anything else I can try? I don't have the installation disk or a backup that has that registry key. Also, using Microsofts' Mr. Fix-it and WMP has not been able to resolve this problem.

Problem is... when I reinstall itunes nothing changes.
I've got Roxio cd-burning software installed on my computer. Is there a conflict with this software?
I can't burn songs from Itunes on to a CD. I haven't tried importing a CD or DVD but I'm guessing that won't work either.

  • Registry settings for burning CDs/DVDs missing when Itunes installed

I have recently had to reinstall ITunes following a computer crash. I am unable to burn to CD - when I start up ITunes I am told that the "registry settings are missing" and am told to reinstall, which I have done without success. I have not loaded any other CD/DVD burning software, and can burn CDs using other programmes. Any ideas? Thank you.

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

  • Registry used by itunesdrivers for burning CDs are missing - help!

    Hello All.
I have just upgraded my itunes from version 6 to the latest, and now it cannot see audio CDs or burn a CD. Everytime I start it up I get this message:
+Warning! The registry used by theitunesdrivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall itunes.+
If it helps, I have followed the information is this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5105496&#5105496
...but it still doesn't work. I also checked out this thread on Tech Support guy (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5105496&#5105496) but nothing there works either (although I haven't done the 'Delete SPTD.SYS from the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers folder.' etc instructions as I don't think I have daemon tools on this PC, unless they snuck in the back door somewhere). I also don't have other 'cd-burning software' - the PC came with a programme called Record Now, but there hasn't been a problem with that before.
I'm not that technical, and don't know why nothing seems to work now. I would be very grateful if anyone can offer some advice, or can point me in the direction of a thread on here that might shed further light on this mystery. I have reinstalled, restarted, uninstalled, rebooted - everything I can think of!
Thank you so much in advance,
    Jayne

    Hello again,
Thank you for posting those links. This is now solved, and I am so happy!
Basically I had to manually delete the gear files from the registry and then reinstall with the latest. Both of these instructions can be found via the links above, should anyone else come to this forum with the same issue. The instructions were clear, even to a novice like me.
Thanks again, Polydorus, for all your help.

  • The registry settings used by theiTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs are missing

I recently installed a programme to convert audio from a cassette player to digital and I found that my CD/DVD drive was missing. I deleted the offending programme and followed a "fix" by deleting the upper and lower filters as specified in the fix. My CD/DVD drive reappeared but now when I open iTunes I get the message “the registry settings used by theiTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs are missing” even though I am able to import tracks from a CD to iTunes. I haven't tried burning a CD yet but then I hardly ever do. I don't appear to have the problem but the message insists that I do!
I have removed iTunes and all associated files and folders from my computer and reinstalled iTunes three times but the message still appears every time I open iTunes. I use Vista. Can you help?
    Many thanks.

Have you tried redownloading the GEAR drivers from feed://www.gearsoftware.com/rss/GEAR-drivers-feed.php ?
Sometimes reinstalling them fixes the problem.
I also found this wiki post that might help - http://www.gearsoftware.com/wiki/index.php?title=CD/DVDdrives_disappearing_due_to_incorrect_registryentry

  • TS3299 Registry settings used by Itunes drivers for buring CDs are missing

So incredibly stuck on this and I have already removed and reinstalled Itunes about 3 times. I kept getting the message that "registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDS are missing. I followed all the instruction and even went to the  Registry Editor and right clicked UpperFilters and was shocked to see that GEARAspiWDM"  was already listed there--so the warning I keep getting that this driver is missing is wrong. Now what? Please help. I do not know how to work around this. Thank you

I thought it was the printer but it happened w/1 other printer as well,  which I used before for this exact thing w/no problem.

Try cleaning the print head with rubbing alcohol wipe, then replace your print head. Keep pushing the Ok.

I've called Adobe Gold Support and the answer was it is not possible to create application with the folio builder throught the network anymore. We have to build the applications on the local mashine in the future.
Following this tip I created my folio offline and then I uploaded to the folio producer and it worked.
I was able to download both developper and distribution app.
