The repository TESTDS1 cannot be found

Hi,
We have copied every thing from one repository to  TESTDS1. This repo is there and we are able to login to this repo using SOAP UI.
But we are getting below error when we try to call the Import_Repo_Object
  <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
   <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
   <soapenv:Body>
   <localtypes:RepoOperationResponse xmlns:localtypes="http://www.businessobjects.com/DataServices/ServerX.xsd">
   <returnCode>1</returnCode>
   <errorMessage>The repository TESTDS1 cannot be found.</errorMessage>
   </localtypes:RepoOperationResponse>
   </soapenv:Body>
   </soapenv:Envelope>
Any thoughts on why this issue would appear?
Thanks,
Uma

I'm not sure about that, but maybe it has something to do with the permissions. Anyway, you could import your CD using another application, and then adding the songs to iTunes. I'd suggest you this one: http://sbooth.org/Max/

  • Importing CD's to iTunes fail with "The required folder cannot be found"

I have my iTunes library on an external drive.  Everything works fine, except that I cannot import CD's into iTunes.  When I try, I get the error "The required folder cannot be found".  My work around currently is to:
    1. Upfdate my preference for "iTunes Media Folder Location" to the standard location by clicking on the "Reset" button.
    2. Import the CD
    3. Copy the folder that it created with the songs to the correct location on the external disk
    4. Update the preference or Folder Location back to my external library location
    5. Double click on the first song where I get the message that it cannot be located
    6. Locate it manually, and iTunes then searches for the others and fix the location.
This is extremely frustrating and impractical.  I am on the very latest release and it is still happening.  Does anyone know how to get around it?

I have the same problem as pyzaptys' with the exception that there is no My Music folder in the default location. I created one but the iTunes install cannot see it. I used the tweakui as suggested in the response to the original post but the app does not see the My Music folder in the special folders selections.
I have tried many angles but to no avail.
    To pyzaptys: try these out:

Moved iTunes library to an ext hard drive to make space on my int drive... Followed steps from apple.  Now I cannot access my music... It says: "File could not be used because the original file cannot be found.  Would you like to locate it?"
I moved my iTunes library to my external hard drive some time ago and I followed the directions listed here on the apple support page.  It did copy my library and now is on my hard drive... I can open iTunes and use it to sync all of my devices but I would like to play my music... I can see all of my music files but can not play them if I click on an album or song it says the following:  "(file name) could not be used because the original file cannot be found.  Would you like to locate it?"  I click locate but do not know where to go from there?  I need a way to access all files and not to hunt down one at a time on my hard drive... I am pretty sure I deleted the original library to make space on my internal drive which was the reason for moving it.  I have tried and tried to fix it and do not have a lot of time to do so with a one and two year old at my house who do not like it whenI sit down at my computer.  What to do???  Any help is much appreciated!!!

See Make a split library portable. Move all of the bits of the library together in the the correct shape and it should work. Or undo exactly what you did and then start over.
If you're a former Windows user don't try merging two folders together that have the same name by dropping one into the same folders as the other, as that goes badly on a Mac.

  • ITunes won't open -error: The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created...

    Hello,
I am not able to open my iTunes. I was able to use it yesterday. I keep getting the message:
*The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the "My Music" folder.*
I have created a folder called "iTunes" in my "My Music" folder, which does not fix the problem.
I have uninstalled and installed iTunes twice.
I have used the repair option when trying to install iTunes over the top of my current iTunes.
None of these options has fixed the problem.
If anyone knows how to fix this, I would really appreciate it.
    Thanks!

I found the answer on another board... Below are the parts I found useful (quoted).
    Click on Start
    Clin on Run
    Type in "regedit" Enter
Do this step twice as there are two locations. +(I actually had 4 locations.)+
    CTRL F
    Type in "My Music"
Double Click and enter the path for where the folder is located.
    Then exit.
The exact locations of the 2 entries that I changed are
hkeycurrentuser - software - microsoft - windows - current version - explorer - shell folders
    and
as above - windows - current version - explorer - USER shell folders
I located the location of my iTunes folder (something like this - C:\Documents and Settings\"yourname"\My Documents\My Music\iTunes.
I copied it, and when I found the regedit location referred to, doubleclicked the location and pasted the path in there.

  • The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required.

    Hello,
I cannot start iTunes. When I do, I get the following error message:
The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. the default location for this folder is inside the "My Music" folder.
I have reviewed and gone through the recommendations for this problem, including downloading the WindowsPowerToys Tweak UI. The problem is that the Tweak UI does not know that there is a My Music special folder, so Tweak UI was of no use.
Can someone tell me what I need to do to make my Dell (Dell doesn't know either) understand that I have "My Music" folder on my computer....so it can be seen in my Tweak UI application.
    Thank you.
    Tim

    I have followed these instructions:
If the My Music folder is in the wrong location or incorrectly assigned in the Windows registry, you may see one of the following error messages:
    * "The folder iTunes is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder."
    * "The folder iTunes cannot be found or created and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the Music folder."
If you see one of the above errors, follow these steps to troubleshoot this:
    1. Verify the location of your Windows XP My Music folder. The default location for this folder is
    C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music
If you do not have this folder at the default location and have not moved it to another location, consider creating one inside your My Documents folder.
    2. Download and install Tweak UI from the Microsoft PowerToys website at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx Note: This utility is for Windows XP only. Please review the system requirements before installing.
    3. Once you have installed Tweak UI, open it from the Start menu.
    4. In the column on the left, click on the plus symbol next to My Computer and select Special Folders.
    5. In the right pane on the Folderlist, click My Music.
    * This is where I run into the problem. My Music does not show up in the *
    * right pane pull down set of options. *
    6. Click the Change Location button. You may see a warning message appear with precautions for changing this setting; after reviewing the message, click Yes.
    7. In the resulting window, browse for the My Music folder as described in step 1, and click OK.
    8. Reinstall or open iTunes.

  • ITunes will not open - the folder itunes cannot be found or created

I'm having troubles opening up itunes. Every time i click on the icon I get the following message
The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the My music folder.
I had itunes on my hard drive but it got too full and had to transfer the library to an external hard drive. This worked for a while but suddenly stopped working with the above message. iTunes is still in my program files and all the files are still there on the external hard drive but the program wont open.
Can I change the options somehow??

    hi y'all!
The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the My music folder.
the first place to start with this error message is this KB doc:
iTunes for Windows: "Disk is locked" or "iTunes folder cannot be found" when installing or opening iTunes
... but if you run into the complication where the "My Music" folder doesn't appear in TweakUI, we've been having some success using the alternate technique in this Nigel Carpenter post:

  • Error: "The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, ..."

The full error message I am receiving is:
"The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the "My Music" folder."
I cannot access iTunes at all. I have removed it from my computer and downloaded it several times and that has not helped. I am running on Windows XP platform.
Ideas of how to fix this??
    THANKS!

I will try that when I get home. Part of the problem could be that after I installed iTunes and loaded most of my music onto my computer, my hard disk space ran out. I bought an external hard drive and transferred everything to that. iTunes still worked. I downloaded an updated version of iTunes and that is when I started receiving this message. I will try the TweakUI. If you have any more thoughts, let me know.
    THANKS!

  • The Folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created - ERROR!

I have been using iTunes for about five months and have loaded about 5500 songs onto it from my CDs. I've been on it A LOT! All of a sudden, it won't open and gives me this message:
The Folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the "My Music" folder.
I've reinstalled the software three times, the last time even putting it on the external hard drive I'm using to store my tunes (my hard drive on my computer doesn't have room for the 25GB of songs I have so far). No luck. PLEASE help! I have lots more songs to upload before I leave the country in a few months!!!!

the best place to start with that error message is this document:

  • Error message The folder Itunes cannot be found or created and is required"

Help please. I get the message "The folder Itunes cannot be found or created and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the My Music folder". As a result, I cannot get Itunes to load. Have uninstalled and reloaded, repaired etc, all not working as still end up getting same message. Have also made an ITunes folder in My music, all to no avail. No viruses and virus library totally up to date. Getting to stage where I want to throw Ipod in bin and get an Iriver as its driving me insane!!

Here is a copy of the ilounge entries. I got one of my more IT literate guys to do this - but it looked easy when he did it!! important thing is it all came back - was a problem as I had moved an external hard drive so one of the locations detailed below showed the old address.
    Good luck!!
    Click on Start
    Clin on Run
    Type in "regedit" Enter
Do this step twice as there are two locations.
    CTRL F
    Type in "My Music"
Double Click and enter the path for where the folder is located.
The exact locations of the 2 entries that I changed are
hkeycurrentuser - software - microsoft - windows - current version - explorer - shell folders
    and

Try changing the two items from there - if these have already been changed then I'm not sure what to suggest.

  • ITunes open error: "The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, ..."

I have a laptop with iTunes installed. My IT guys have our LAN set up so that when I login on our LAN, all files in the "My Documents" folder are syncronized with a copy of those files on our server. When I'm connected to the LAN, iTunes starts and works just fine. I can download music, syncronize my iPod and all features work.
When I disconnect from the LAN and try to start iTunes I get the following error message:
"The folder “iTunes” cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the “My Music” folder."
I had the same problem on a previous laptop and solved it by putting an alias of the iTunes music folder where iTunes was looking for it. Unfortunately, I cannot get the same method to work on my new laptop. I have put aliases of various folders in many different locations hoping to trick iTunes into finding my network alias without success.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any solutions?
    Latitude D810   Windows XP

Yes. Step 3 is the key. Thanks...
jtoons: The problem is that iTunes expects the "My
Music" folder to be both available and writable.
That's where the actual library files are stored.
When that folder is not available, you can't run
    iTunes.
Since your My Documents folder is on the server, and
the default location for the My Music folder is
inside the My Documents folder, it won't work unless
    you can access the server.
The solution to this is to make a local My Music
folder and configure Windows to use that one instead.
    Here's how to do it:
    1. Download TweakUI from Microsoft.
    2. Create a new folder somewhere on your local
    computer. Call it My Music.
    3. IMPORTANT: Copy the contents (Not the folder
itself! Just the contents!) of the old My Music
folder in your My Documents folder into the new My
    Music folder.
    3. Using TweakUI, change the system's "My Music"
folder to be the new folder on your local drive.
Follow those instructions precisely and it'll work.
Skip step 3 and you make things annoyingly
    complicated.

  • Can't install itunes - error message  "the folder "itunes" cannot be found

Help. I just bought a new Iphone and can't get itunes to load. I had itunes on my computer for several years for my nano - haven't synced up in about a year. Went to open it and got the following error message
The folder "itunes" cannot be found or created and is required. The default location for this folder is inside Mu Music folder"
I have uninstalled everything - quicktime, apple mobile, every single file. I have rebooted, run searches to make sure there were no files at all left - did it through control panel, search etc., rebooted and downloaded it again (this make about 5 times now) and still get that same message that the folder cannot be found. Help! I just blew about $400 in the Apple store!
    Can anyone help me?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • ITunes cannot sync to the AppleTV because of a problem on your computer.  The required file cannot be found.

I have two first Gen Apple TV's and a new MAC Book Pro.  I have about 600GB of music and 40GB of photos located on an external hard drive (Western Digital).  In the past, I have not run into any issues when syncing music or photos. Recently, I get an error message "iTunes cannot sync to the AppleTV because of a problem you your computer.  The required file cannot be found."  I noticed this after I added a few folders to my photo folder, which the AppleTV is pointed to for accessing and syncing my photos.  I went to the AppleTV to look to see if the new folders were in the photos, but they were not listed and obviously not syncing from the hard drive to the AppleTV.
For trouble shooting, I disconnected my upstairs AppleTV from iTunes, then reconnected, pointed the AppleTV to the applicable music and phots folders on my external hard drive.  The music synced fine, but the photos did not sync.  I got the same error message.
Does anyone have any advice to what the issue may be??
I read some posts similar to mine and the referenced deleting the iPhoto file cache.  I did not try this as I do not use iPhoto as the source for my photos syncing to my AppleTV's.
    Thanks - Scott1508

Looks like my WD Hard Drive may have an issue.  I pointed the Apple TV to the photos folder on my other WD Hard Drive, which is formatted for MAC and it synced the photos fine.  I had never had an issue with the first WD Hard Drive, but it was never formatted for MAC.
Not sure if this could be the issue???
I am considering getting an Apple Time Capsule (2 TB) for my back up, but also need a second back up for all my music and photos.
Does anyone have advice on moving to the Time Capsule as my main back up and keeping a WD as the secondary back up??
