The requested transformation would make some objects too large.

Please help.
I load a PNG in Illustrator. However when it loads it doesn't load right. It loads HUGE. When I try and move it, it says:
"Can't move the objects.The requested transformation would make some objects too large."
I am pulling my hair out here. Why the hell can't Illustrator just open a bloody PNG and allow me to edit it?!
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I see, Christopher.
It seems that something is seriously wrong.
You may try the following (you may have tried/done some of them already) and see whether it helps (the following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file; 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences):
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder http://www.bugge.com/Family-and-friends/Illy/illy.html (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • Error:  requested transformation would make some objects too large

    working in Illustrator CS2, and am getting the error "Can't move the objects - The requested transformation would make some objects too large." From reading another post (that I am unable to find to reply to) I gather this may have to do with some guides. I have unlocked all guides through View Menu. Interestingly, according to help I should have hte selection to "view" guides. I don't find it. My problem is, i can find the guides to either delete or convert to an object to see if this will alllow me to move the objects. it is a 1 layer artwork, with multiple groups (too many too count),and multiple paths under each group (again, too many too count). This artwrok is a map printed to .pdf from SMT Kingdom. Kingdom is not very powerful, and I often annotate and edit maps in Illustrator; I frequetnly get this error when I have a map with contours on it.
    Any ideas?

    Because of the nature of my map, I do tend to have "landgrid" and other type of data that "extend" way beyond my actual image. for example, print to 8.5 x 11, and i might have a river that is part of my landgrid, that extend beyond the page size. The software from which I am printing does not "clip" this river. I have many times attempted to select and delete all this extraneous stuff, to alleviate my problem with "make some object too large", but no luck. I can assure you I don't have an object WAY off the page...i have zoomed out to the moon.

  • Can't scale the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too small to use.

    How does one remedy this Adobe error message? "Can't scale the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too small to use." This one always gets me. I'll spend more time trying to find the object in question. This has happened in almost al versions, but this time it's CS5.

    Hmm, possible solution would be to select your object(s), scale them to 90%, and then hit Cmd+D or Control+D to repeat the transformation. I read that sometimes if you scale down too much and too fast it can cause this message.
    Hope this works for you!

  • I am trying to copy a document and I keep getting the error "Can't paste the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects fall completely off the drawing area."

    I am trying to make duplicate documents with minor adjustments to each and when I try to copy the artwork from one document and paste it into the new document I keep getting the error "Can't paste the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects fall completely off the drawing area." Both documents are exactly the same size, res, color format etc. I even tried to drag and drop and get the same error message. Anyone know what I can do to resolve this issue?

    Try scaling the view size down to 6% or so and then do a Select All. See if there are objects off the artboard which may be causing this error. Most often you will see this if there were guides dragged from a ruler which were selected by dragging the white arrow and then deleted. This leaves the anchor points at the edge of the work area.

  • Can't save the illustration. The requested transformation would make some objects fall completely of

    I wan't to save an AI file as an EPS. I get a message; Can't save the illustration. The requested transformation would make some objects fall completely off the drawing area. I already did the ctrl+A but there is nothing outside my drawing area! It is a quit big file 2GB, but I don't think that this should be a problem! I really hope that somebody can help me?!?

    It does, blablabla.
    Thank you for sharing.
    Monika has kindly made the following excellent and unique polyglot(t) web page available for everyone. I have never seen any of the terms in non English languages before, so I have it bookmarked, and I keep it ready in a separate Tab so that I am prepared for any funny words (needed) at any time.

  • Please help. New CS 4 error: can't move the objects. the requested transformation would make some objects fall completely off the drawing area.

    I know this is not a "new" error message, but I have never gotten it on any previous version of Illustrator. I just upgraded to CS 4 and now get it on virtually every file when I try to nudge an object in any direction. Not that it should matter, but these are files that were created in earlier versions of Illustrator and I never had this problem. I have followed instructions from similar posts to no avail. I have zoomed way out to the edge of the art board: there are no hidden layers, objects, or guidelines, no lingering points from erased guidelines, or objects of any sort anywhere near the edge of the art board (which, I know, is enormous compared to the size of my working 11 x 17 document.)
    What am I missing?
    Also, on occasion, when I CAN nudge an object (usually a JPG or PDF image that I placed in the document), the image just disappears. I think it is still "there" though I cannot see it. Any suggestions?

    I am nudging it by selecting the object and hitting the up, down, or side arrows. Dragging with the mouse works fine, but does not give me the precision I'm looking for. Dragging with the mouse also avoids the "disappearing PDF/JPG" problem.
    I don't know what plug-ins I have. Possibly none.
    I don't use clipping masks. But I did select one object (and then ultimately selected all objects) and went to clipping mask, the "release" function was not active, so I am assuming there are no clipping masks in the document.
    I did attempt to select stray points, nada.
    I have not tried getting rid of the settings folder. Not sure how to do that?
    Also not sure how to take a screen shot to show you. I can tell you that there is only one layer and it is a very simple document with just a JPG image, a few objects and some text.
    Sorry! I hope this helps you help me, I normally just use a few simple tools to produce some basic documents.

  • How to resolve this error - "Cannot save the illustration The requested transformation would make.."

    Hello Adobe Community,
    I am trying to organize some album artwork within a pre-designed template and I keep getting this error when trying to save the file in the eps file format:
    Cannot save the illustration The requested transformation would make some objects fall completely off the drawing area.
    All the art is within the bleed lines. The only transformation I did was rotating one of the pieces 180 degrees. I'm not exactly sure what it is referring to when illustrator says objects are going to completely fall off the drawing area.
    Your insights would be appreciated.
    Thank you!
    Chris

    Did you use Guides at all? From the View menu, choose Guides>Clear Guides. Then zoom way out and do a Select All and see if there any stray points near the borders of the artboard. Direct select them and delete. Then try your transformation.

  • BUG: Web service returns request XML as response when result too large

    Hi,
    sorry for cross-posting, but the Web Services forum seems to be quite abandoned and this is an urgent issue for me.
    I have a web service returning some records of a given type (created using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3). The running environment and the service implementation do not seem to make any difference, as the situation is the same whether running it in embedded OC4J or in AS 10.1.3.1, and whether it is generated from a PL/SQL procedure or a method of a plain Java class.
    The problem is that if the result of this web service is too large (contains a lot of records), then the processing halts in some Oracle class in some web service library, so not in a debuggable generated web service source or in the service implementation itself.
    I think that the XML processing halts because of a "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space".
    Then a more serious problem follows: the service doesn't return a fault message but the original request XML as a response. Obviously, this can lead to some really unexpected errors.
    To reproduce this error:
    1. Create a Java class with a method returning an array of an arbitrary type, of the size specified in an input parameter.
    2. Create a web service from this class.
    3. Call it multiple times increasing the size parameter in every call until you get back the request as response or any error message.
    For example:
    - if you test the web service using the web page generated to access the endpoint, then you can see the response XML - in case you don't get an Internal Server Error (Java heap space).
    - if you use a generated web service proxy for testing, then it will give an error saying "unexpected element name: expected={namespace}someOperationResponseElement
    actual={namespace}someOperationElement".
    Any ideas how to locate / solve this problem?
    Regards,
    Patrik

    Patrik,
    the usual recommendation is to try with 10.1.3.3 instead of 10.1.3.1 to exclude you are hunting down an already fixed issue. From what you describe, the error seems less JDeveloper related than OC4J or OracleAs.
    So in case it reproduces in 10.1.3.3 I suggest to create a testcase and open a service request with support, or try the OC4J forum in case its known there.

  • Numbers-the document cant be imported because file too large

    i have an exel file i am trying to work on and open but i keep getting this instead"the document cant be imported bcecause its too large"....how can i fix this its an urgent matter and i have to hand in a report

    Hi Yarash,
    I suspect the message is telling you that the Excel spreadsheet has more rows than Numbers's maximum pertable, 65,536.
    Try splitting the Excel file into two smaller spreadsheets.

  • Debug object too large

    Hi,
    When i try to debug webkit on solaris, i get this issue:
    libwebkit-1.0.so.2: Value too large for defined data type terminating signal 9 SIGKIL
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 jack staff 2.9G 2010-10-14 02:32 .libs/libwebkit-1.0.so.2.17.5
    Any way to get around this? or some compile options to reduce the size of debug object?
    BR,
    Simon Jin

    The error message is actually from the dynamic linker.
    Can you run the application outside of the debugger?
    Try this:
    $ echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    $ <your-a.out>
    Does it work?
    Now do the same inside dbx.

  • Error message: object too large

    It says: this object is too large to render, and will be cropped. The maximun size is 2048x2048. I am not sure what that means. Any help, Thanks!!

    You have a rather poor GFX card to go on working with Motion, but the work around is to resize the object you added. One way to do this is to select your layer and hit SHIFT+F to show the file in the media tab. Then go to the media tab in the inspector where you'll see the Fixed Width and Fixed Height sliders. Crank those down to an acceptable level.

  • I was chatting to Abishek at Adobe.  He gave me a link to download, but I just ge the following error message:  413  Header Length too Large

    I'm having trouble downloading an upgrade for Photoshop Elements 12 and was having a Chat with Abishek who gave me a link.  When I clicked on the link I got the following error message:
    413
    Header Length too Large

    That's an error message typically seen when using the Chrome browser.
    Clear your cache and cookies in Chrome then try again.
    Or, as Ned says, use a different browser.

  • FCP7 HELP - Exported quicktime mov plays differently than what I edited on the timeline. The playback shows the clips with ins and outs that are different than what I set in the clips when I edited - some are too early and the clips don't playback

    Please help ASAP.
    Specs: IOS 10.6.8
    Processor 2.4GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 -- Everything is edited, sourced, and stored on an 2TB external hard drive to make things go faster.
    Editing with FCP 7
    When I export the sequence I edited with quicktime, the playback video is very different from what I edited on the timeline. The playback has the clips with ins and outs that are way off than what I cut, and some of the clips don't show at all or have changed transitions. However when I play in the timeline in FCP, the sequence is fine, just the way I cut it.
    The source of the clips was one long .mov that I cut into clips for the timeline. Everything has gone smoothly but the exported .mov is just so different.
    How can I get the time codes of the clips to be the same in the exported .movs? I just want the quicktime .mov to represent my edit exactly.
    This video is due tomorrow - if the solution is too time consuming, can I play within the FCP player window and Log and Capture?
    Thanks,
    MV

    What is your source material? Is it H.264? FCP does not work correctly with that material.
    Click on a source clip in the FCP Browser, and once selected, type Command + 9 to see the item properties for the clip. Either report those properties, or take a screen shot of the item properties, and post that here.
    Next, click anywhere in your timeline, and then type Command + 0 {zero} to see your Sequence Settings. Either report those Sequence Settings, or take a screen shot of the Sequence Settings and post that here.

  • Does dual-core iPad 2 mean the next update will make iPad 1 too slow?

    Having rendered my old iPhone 3G useless by updating it to iOS4, I'm really wondering if one of the next few updates to iOS will render my iPad 1 too slow to use.
    One of the most appealing things about the iPad is how quick and snappy it is to respond. If that slows down it will ruin the user experience.
    Spending $499 on a new iPad every April is also not sustainable -- and will not happen.
    I encourage Apple to make dam sure the iPad is not obsolete in the wake of two A5 processors on iPad 2.

    "There is more RAM and developers will take advantage of that, but that will just make their apps run faster on the iPad 2, but not any slower on ours."
    That will make existing apps run faster on iPad 2. But those apps get updated, become more complex to take advantage of the extra ram and cpu, and then you have an updated app that runs about half as fast as it used to before you just upgraded it.
    I know, you can't stop progress. But geez, I finally bought a case for this one in December!
    Also, FWIW, the iPhone 4 has 512MB ram whereas iPad1 has only 256. I'm betting in two months if you don't have 512MBs RAM on whatever device you're using, it's gonna be slower than you were used to.
    I guess it makes sense... At this point speed is becoming irrelevant on PCs. They're all fast enough. So the speed race moves to the mobile market to keep us buying every year. My 1.6GHz Core2Duo Dell laptop is plenty fast and it's about 5 years old. Same with the 2Ghz Core2Duo iMac. Now, the dual-core G5 I'm typing this on is having major speed issues -- for the same reason I'm discussing the iPad. When my G5 came out we were on Adobe CS2. Now it's CS5, and I'm only on CS4 -- but it's designed for the latest greatest hardware. My computer's not any slower, but my Photoshop sure as heck is. And same with everything else that's been updated over the last 5 years. And I can't even run the latest Safari. Dam IT dept! Give me a new Mac!

  • Losing the headphone jack would make me lose my iphone :/

    Can someone tell me if this is true? I use an M2M cord to connect my phone to the stereo to use my Sirius phone app. Losing the headphone jack is a dealbreaker for me :/  http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2014/06/05/apple-to-abandon-headphone-ja ck-suddenly-beats-deal-makes-sense/

    Apple is only going to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack ONLY from existing phones.
    Users will be required to send their current device back for a modification.
    New model iPhones released in the future will still have the regular headphone jack.
