The Ringtone Bells in Itunes

I recently upgraded my computer hard drive to 250 gig. I successfully moved all of my itunes library over to my new computer, but now all of the little bells that identify songs that can be made into a ringtone have disappeared. I have the "ringtone" column shown, but all of my bells have disappeared. Now I can't tell which of my songs can be made into ringtones. What do I need to do to get my bells to show up again. Your help is appreciated in advance!!

Unfortunately the bells are gone and there really isn't a way to get them back, but you can still make a ringtone out of the allowed songs by selecting create ringtones.

  • Where is the ringtone file in iTunes?

Where is the ringtone file in iTunes?  I am trying to download some ringtones in there.  The website says to save the sound file to the ringtone file in itunes so when I sync I can transfer it over to my iphone

iTunes>Preferences>General>Show>Tones...make sure Tones is checked. If you can't see the sidebar: iTunes>View>Show Sidebar.
If the ringtone has the proper extension: m4r, simply dropping it on the iTunes app logo will put it in the proper location.

  • Where is the ringtones folder on iTunes?

I have followed all the steps to make a new ringtone on my macbook pro to then transfer to my iPhone, but I cannot find my ringtones folder in iTunes.

it's a folder called 'tones', if it's not showing on your main page, go to itunes, preferences.

  • I do not see the ringtone folder in itunes library

the ringtone folder is not in the itunes library. I've read other posts on how to find it and still don't see it. I see one for tones.  I tried to move a ringtone to the music file for it to automatically populate the folder and that didnt work either.

Tones is the new name for Ringtones. If the entry is missing in the left-hand column of iTunes then enable it from Edit > Preferences > General tab.
If your existing tones are not syncing properly to your iOS device then uncheck the option to Sync Tones from the Tones tab when the device is connected, sync the device, check the option and sync again.
A properly constituted .m4r file (<30secs AAC at 128k) thrown into the Automatically add to iTunes folder should end up getting added to the correct section of the library.

  • Where is the ringtones folder in Itunes to put an .m4r in?

Did any of that make sense?
    I think so.
A possible cause for splitting up the album is an extra "space" character at the end of the title, which you would not see, or between two words and you just can't notice it. The cure for this is to copy the Album Title from one track and paste it into all the other tracks. Then you know that every track has the same information.
Another cause is guest artists. If the album's artist is Fred X (for example) and therefore each track is listed as "Fred X", but one song has a guest artists and the artist field says "Fred X and his mate", then that track would be separated out from the others. The usual work round for this problem is to put the guest artist at the end of the song title and delete him (and the space after X) from the artist's field.

  • Where is the Ringtones folder for iTunes?

I've created some ringtones and now I need to place them in the correct folder so that iTunes will load them.
Can anyone point me to where the folder should be?

I don't think the problem lies in the iTunes programme. Try turning off the iPhone then turn it back on and plug it in the computer. If it doesn't work try resetting it. Go to Settings>General>Reset. Choose the option to keep your data and reset it. Plug your iPhone in the computer.

  • Created Ringtone in Itunes but can't drag it to the ringtone folder?

I created a custom ringtone in Itunes and then tried to drag the file to the ringtones folder and it wouldn't copy over. The file is 23 sec, converted to acc etc so I don't understand why it won't drag into the ringtone folder?

How did you create the tone? Did you buy it off itunes or manually create it. If manually you have to put it into the ringtone folder on your hard drive, then it will show on the ringtones tab in itunes. (or at the least you have to import it in). Make sure it is also has the extension of .m4r

  • HELP! My ringtones won't show up under the "Ringtones" tab

    Hi there,
I just got my iPhone a few weeks ago and recently made some custom ringtones using the Myxer app. The finished ringtones were emailed to me in m4r format, which I then downloaded and dragged into iTunes. I enabled the "Ringtones" folder to appear in iTunes by changing my preferences, but when I drag the m4r files into iTunes, they still do not appear under "Ringtones." I tried moving the files from iTunes onto the desktop, deleting them in iTunes, and then dragging them back in, but that still didn't work. When I click "Get Info" for the files, it says "Ringtone," so I can't imagine why it wouldn't appear under the "Ringtones" folder.
Please help! I really want to figure out how to get these synced onto my iPhone, but I obviously can't if they won't go into the "Ringtones" folder in iTunes or on my iPhone.
    Thanks

This was happening to me too but only for some of my songs. I have a mac so I dunno about PCs, but for most of my ringtones I had to create an ACC version in itunes to make them short enough then turn that into a m4r and those all worked fine. But if the song was already short enough and I didn't create an ACC version and just turned the original into a m4r, then it wouldn't appear in my itunes.
so if you're on a mac:
    1. go to get info, options, pick when you want the song to start and end.
Has to be pretty short to work, 30 second or less is good
if it's already short enough that's fine
    2. right click and click 'create ACC version'
a copy with the length you put in will appear, drag that into a folder or whatever and just type in m4r where m4a would be
still make an ACC version even if it's the right length
    Hopefully this helps someone else.

  • Ringtones-How do I get to Use the ringtones?

    Hi,
First thank you for any help.
I have purchased ringtones apps.I can see the apps in itunes and on my phone.
One lot emailed the ringtones I chose with instructions on how to get them to itunes.
This I would be able to do but as there isn't a folder called Ringtones I'm not sure how to get them to my iphone or where or which folder to put them in, so I can use them as the ringtone on my phone.
I bought these apps as the ringtones which are supplied with the phone arn't Loud enough, I keep missing calls because of not hearing when the tones supplied "ring"
I keep my phone in my bag for several reasons,
    1. To keep it in good condition.
    2. so it won't be left behind by mistake.
    3. It won't be stolen when you have to take it from your hand & put it on a table.
    ETC

If the ringtones are in Itunes, when the phone is connected to Itunes you have to clock on the phone and then go to the tab marked ringtones and make sure a check mark is against the ringtone you want to sue. When you sync it will put the ringtone on the phone

  • Ringtones via Mobile iTunes?

I know on previous phones I could access and download ringtones from the phone as well as a my computer. But now with my iPhone, I can't seem to be able to. I don't want to have to plug the phone in and do it via my computer every time I want to download one. Is there some way to download ringtones via iTunes over the phone so I don't have to do it whenever my computer is handy?

Until the possible update to pre-cut ringtones in iTunes, downloading a ringtone in iTunes does not complete the deal. You would not be able to do the editing that is necessary to finish the ringtone on Mobile iTunes, so you still need to do this on the computer. It has been rumored the new iTunes may contain pre-cut ringtones, and those may be able to be downloaded straight to the phone.
