The screen locks up on Elements 9 in the organizer after viewing several files. This is constant.

The screen will let you view maybe 10 or 12 files and it locks up and the program has to be closed. Any suggestions?

I had this problem as well. After I created and began using catalogs other than "My Catalog" (the name of the default catalog, if I remember correctly), it didn't happen anymore.

After doing changes of images and going back to the organizer I have to wait a long time. This was not the case when I used elements 9. I have a lot of images stored around 18000. There are also often long waiting times when I move around in the organizer. Any suggestion?

PSD or JPG files not recognized in the organizer after an editing session

Without any obvious reasons, I am now consistently experiencing the following problem (which I never had before):
1) I choose a JPG (or NEF) image from the Organizer (not renamed - as imported from the camera).
2) I use the FIX menu to open the Editor (full edit) to work on the picture.
3) I save my work under a PSD file format in the Editor.
4) When I am getting back to the Organizer, the file does exist but is shown as broken (missing).
The checkboxes for the inclusion in a Version set and the organizer are both checked.
Software: PhotoShop Element 9
Platform: MAC OS X
I’ve seen similar questions asked, but couldn’t find any solution to this issue.
Is it a known problem which has been resolved in Element 10 or 11?

Aha. You have PSE 9 and you actually looked at the saving files preference panel sometime, didn't you? In the mac version, this causes that to happen, because just opening that panel sets PSE to stop adding the file extension when you save.
The solution is to either add it manually each time you save, or to delete the preferences (quit editor, then relaunch while holding down command+shift+option) and never, never open Editor>Preferences>Saving Files again.

My 3gs screen locked on itunes logo during update of itunes after error 1602.

My phone didn't back up properly (it said the backup couldn't be saved on the computer) but I tried to update the OS to 5.1.1 anyway via itunes. During the backup, I got an error 1602. itunes no longer recognized that a phone was connected and my iphone screen now shows an itunes logo along with an arrow and usb connector. I have tried to reboot the phone using all of the suggestions online but it will not reboot and remains unresponsive. It is NOT jailbroken. Help!

Problem resolved! I went to the apple store and they took one look at it and said that the phone was disabled and that they couldn't do anything for me. They offered to sell me a new one at a low price to replace it. He didn't try to hook it to my laptop at all (although I tried everything I found on like both hooked to the laptop and unhooked). Now I just have to figure out how to hook it to itunes and not corrupt this phone too

How Do I Open a "Edit in Progress" Photo in the Organizer in a Stacked File

I have a photo in my organizer which indicates "edit in progress". This photo is one of three in a version set. I am unable to open this file to continue the editing.
Also, when I complete editing a photo and "save as" a JPEG file I keep getting the dialog box which asks if I want to save the changes made. What am I doing wrong in "save as"?
PLEASE NOTE THAT IN DOING "SAVE AS" I AM ALSO SAVING THE EDITED PHOTO IN THE IWORKS PICTURE FILE.

Okay, you didn't mention that you've also got iPhoto involved in this. If you want to use organizer, don't try to use iphoto at the same time, and vice versa.
If you do want to use iphoto, you're going about it in a way that can cause a lot of grief down the road. To use iphoto with PSE you have two options:
1. Set PSE as your external editor, send the photo from iphoto, save (not save as) without changing the name or format and iphoto will keep your last edited version plus the original.
2. Export from iphoto to the desktop, use file>Open in PSE, save the edited photo under a new name and reimport it to iphoto as a new file. More details here:

I still don't really understand exactly what you're doing, but I can tell you for sure you're making this immensely harder than it needs to be.

Get the filename after an outbound file adapter operation

I am calling an outbound file adapter operation in BPEL (10.1.3.3) - using a filename mask with a sequence (i.e. po_%SEQ%.xml). I would like to provide the filename created at run-time (i.e. po_123.xml) to my BPEL process so I can send this in an e-mail. Is this possible?

Well, I took a different approach - which looks like it will work. Instead of letting the adapter decide the filename - I'm generating that in BPEL and passing that to the adapter using the header variable. So ... nevermind. ;-)

HT4628 My macbook pro will not automatically reconnect to the wifi after a sleep. This has started after having upgraded to mountain Lion (10.8).

After I have installed Mountain Lion (10.8) - my macbook pro will not connect automatically to my preferred wifi network. It used to do that on the previous versions. It seems that the mac does not recognize the preferred network, as it asks me to choose a network after evey sleep/restart. I have modified the network preference to have my preferred netwrok at the top of the list. I have tried with/without checking the "ask me before joining a new network". It still behaved the same.

Fine lines all over the picture after converting PDF file to Photoshop CC.

I converted a PDF-file (PDF/X-1a) into a Photoshop file using Photoshop CC and got fine lines over the picture.
Using Photoshop CS5, those lines will not appear.
Why?

A little mor information. There are no tiles visible in the PDF file from InDesign CC. They appear after converting to Photoshop CC. The PDF file was a PDF/X-1a:2001. Now I wrote a PDF/X-4:2008 in Indesign CC and there are nor mor tiles but horizontal lines already in the PDF. Converted to Photoshop CC, this lines are still visible:

Will Formscentral still provide the responses after it goes away this summer??

Our business created a template using the form and responses... I am sad to see that formscentral is going away... Is there a solution to this?? (in the end we are wanting to have consumers fill out a form and then create a document to give back to the consumer based on those responses to the form)

No Formscentral responses will not be accessible after the July shutdown date. You are advised to download all responses prior to that date.

I created a 1 layer TIFF file in Photoshop Elements 6 with text only which was distorted then flattened. The result was grey text on a white background. The problem is I can't change the color of the gray text.
I select the Foreground color icon on the tool bar at the left side, then I get the color pallet window, but no matter what color I select the Foreground color icon can only be gray or white (if I chose a lighter color).
Somehow 24 bits worth of color choices are converted to 1 bit (gray or white), and there's no obvious controls to change this, no F1 help guides and no obvious knowledgebase or forum comments. Does the file format, which is unknown to me, govern Photoshop operations (?), which would of course make absolutely no sense even if it were true, because that should only be an output formatting decision.

Tap on the "slide to unlock" text, and after you hear the voice, double tap the text. If you have a passcode, tap the letter, wait for the voice, and double tap the letter. Repeat for each letter.
Then go to Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver OFF. You may also be able to turn it off by triple pressing the home button.

Multiple AD Group Policy Screen Lock Policies

I am looking to have multiple screen lock policies one for X minutes and one for Y minutes, is this possiable, and how can I configure this?

Yes you can do this. A few ways are possible. From memory the screen saver policy is user based rather than computer based.
You can create two GPO's and configure the screensaver setting you want in both. Then you can do one of two things.
1. apply each policy to a different OU where the users reside
2. create two security groups - one for each GPO. Then remove the authenticated users group from the GPO security settings and add your new security group to the GPO and give it read and apply group policy. Then add your users to which ever group you want.
Apply the GPOs to either a user OU, or domain level - which ever works best.
