The screen of my macbook air keeps turning red.

I can still see everything, but it's really annoying. The computer's about three years old and the screen is pretty wobbly, so won't stay in upright position. When I physically hold it upright the red goes away. But as soon as I let it go it leans back and the red returns.

Below is the screen capture. I couln't see any division.
What now?

    Julien,
The system normally picks up the settings from the browser and presents the page in the local language if found - we have 16 translations if I recall correctly. Default is English. This allows the user to get started without having to go into the bcentral pages and customise the interface - they may not understand the default language and therefore be stuck.

  • Macbook Air keeps turning off....

    Hi
    I have a relatively new Macbook Air 13" 2012 running OS X 10.8.2.
My mac keeps turning itself off randomly. Almost like it goes to sleep. Mostly this happens when i'm running on battery. I have to keep switching it back on.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Did you manage to solve it?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks
    Mark

Does it power back on normally, as if nothing happened, even if it remains on battery power?
Power or other problems involving unexpected system sleep, lights, or fans indicate an SMC reset is justified. Read all the steps.
    Before Resetting the SMC
Try each of the following steps in this order before you reset the SMC. Test the issue after completing each troubleshooting step to determine if the issue still occurs.
Press Command + Option + Escape to force quit any application that is not responding.
Put your Mac to sleep by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Sleep. Wake the computer after it has gone to sleep.
Restart your Mac by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Restart.
Shut down your Mac by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Shut Down.
Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if it's not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.

  • The audio on my macbook air keeps shutting down

I have just had a new Macbook air with OS X 10.9 on it.
The audio works on speakers and also on headphones when I start up the computer, but after I plug in my headphones and used an application like Skype or just itunes, and then close the screen for a while, the audio stops working on both the mini-jack port and the built in speakers.
Yes, I have tried all the steps from this article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1574
The built in speakers are on, it is not muted, the volume scale goes up and down - but there is no sound output whatsoever.
If I restart the computer, the audio works again, but it is getting a little tedious having to restart my mac whenever I want the audio to work.
Anyone with similar experience? Am I unknowingly doing some kind of keyboard shortcut that disables all audio?
    Help!

but after I plug in my headphones and used an application like Skype or just itunes, and then close the screen for a while
Yes, this is a known little issue Ive personally tested quite a lot, .....techs are working on a fix.
A: if you put your Air to sleep keep headphones unplugged
B: go into Sys preference > energy >  UNcheck "put hard disks to sleep" on both tabs
C: IF you have the APP BOOM installed........REMOVE it, period
    Peace
Am I unknowingly doing some kind of keyboard shortcut that disables all audio?
No, its a little issue to be fixed in Mavericks with the Air.

  • External Monitors connected to MacBook Air keep turning off

Prior to getting my MacBook Air, I was using a MacBook Pro connected to 2 external monitors (same signal, just split using DVI splitter). There were never any issues with this setup, but the same can't be said of the MacBook Air.
When I used "detect displays" I was able to see the external monitor listed under the menu bar icon but the monitors remained black.
Unplugging and re-pluggin in the mini DVI adapter to the MacBook Air bought the monitors up, but after a few minutes, they'd go black again, and selecting "detect displays" had no affect.
Is this related to the power output level differences between the Air and the Pro?
For reference, the monitors are really really old Cinema Displays -- ADC connector actually -- so I am not only splitting the signal with a DVI splitter, but also using ADC to DVI adapters between the monitors and splitter.
I also tried connecting just 1 monitor, but the same behavior persists.
    Appreciate any insight
    -Ken

This may not help you, but I have got the same issues with my MBA when connecting it to my Acer XD 1250 projector and my Belinea 22" LCD via VGA. I also got the MBA exchanged because the MDP was completely broken and had the Logicboard replaced after that so I'm actually on my 3rd MBA 11"...This is so annoying....

  • The screen of my macbook air was pulled on too hard and now the screen won't stay up.

A friend of mine pulled on the screen and something popped out of place and when I took it to someone to get it fixed, he told me that there is a crack somewhere in it (I don't remember what the part was called) He told me that if the part gets worse that the screen won't stay up on its own. I need a replacement part, but I wanted to know the price range for the new part.

Make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a FREE examination.  You will be advised as to your options and then be in a position to make an informed decision.
    Ciao.

My MacBook Pro screen keeps going black.  This is happening more frequently.  I have had it in to the Apple store several times for this and they can't find anything wrong other than it is locked up for a while.  Since it is happening more and more, I am worried that at some point this will be permanent.

Has it actually happened at the store?
If not then we need to get it to do that. Now it may be completely random but you need to try and make a note of as many things as possible that happen when it does it.
How long has it been on for, what are you doing at the time, what's connected. If it's reproducible then you've at least got somewhere.

  • Why does the screen on my MacBook Pro keep going black? It happens randomly. Please help.

No patterns, it just crashes. Happens every couple of days or so.

    try these :
Hold down SHIFT - CTRL - ALT(Option) same time with the POWER BUTTON for a quick 2 seconds then let go and normally turn on your computer

  • How much does it cost to repair a cracked screen for a Macbook Air?

The screen for my MacBook Air recently cracked, and I was wondering about how much it would cost to either fix or replace.

To reinforce Dominic's recommendation (which is a great one), a lot of the cost will depend on what mode of MacBook Air it is. The earlier units are typically not serviced in the store, they're done via what is called a "flat rate" repair. The newer ones can have the screen replaced and are a bit cheaper.
While the numbers most likely have changed, the ballpark is about:
    $650-$800 for the 1st & 2nd generation MBA
    $495-$600 for the 3rd & 4th generation MBA
Keep in mind those are ballparks off of quotes I received about 14 months ago when I brought in two units for screen replacements. But it gives you a rough gauge to expect when you make your GB appointment.

  • My new MacBook Air keeps shutting down the screen while I use it

My new MacBook Air keeps shutting down the screen while I use it and has to be rebooted. I took it in to the Genius desk at my local store, but they couldn't find anything wrong and said that they have never seen this problem before.
I Spoke to the IT support guy at work. He has the same problem with his new MacBook, but not with his older one. He suggested that it is a software issue with all new MacBooks and is connected to the timing of it going into sleep mode. Does anybody have a solution? Apple doesn't seem to have one.

    Try a SMC reset.
