The screen on my ipod touch fell off and the cable ripped. what do i do?

one day, i was using my ipod touch. while i was on safari, the lower half of the screen stopped working. eventually, i was only able to play music thanks to the double tap settings. i was getting irritated, and i lifted the screen just to see if there was anything i could do to try to fix it.when i took it off, the little black cord thing that attatches to the screen ripped. i dont know what to do, if there is any way i could fix this, or how much it will cost to get it fixed. please help!

  • The screen on my Ipod touch came away from the back.

The screen on my ipod touch came away from the back and then stuck back down a couple of days later. The battery seems to be weak now but everything else is OK. What could have caused this? Over chargibg in the car cradle?, Heat? Being held too tightly in the cradle?, Getting water inside?
Has this happend to any of you.

If you have successfully restored the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I broke the screen on my ipod touch 4th gen and im trying to do a backup on the data but it says i need to enter a passcode on my ipod but the screen dosent work so what can i do

hey i broke the screen on my ipod touch 4th Gen and im trying to do a backup on the data but it says I need to enter a passcode on my ipod but the screen dosent work so what can I do.

You can't backup the iPod t iTunes then. You will have to use an existing iTunes backup.
If iCloud backup is turned on and the iPod is still working (not disabled), the iPod will automatically backup daily if an internet connection is available and the iPod is connected to a charging source.

  • HT201210 the screen on my ipod touch will only show the apple icon it will not turn all the way on

the screen on my ipod touch only shows the apple logo.it will not shut off or turn all the way on and when plugged into itunes it will not allow the newest update

    Try:

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • The screen of my Ipod touch is black and won't respond, how can I reset it?

I have an Ipod Touch 5th Gen. I still have one of the older IOS updates, but I'm not exactly sure which one. I went to go turn my Ipod on because the screen was completely black, and nothing happened. So I then plugged it in thinking it was dead. So a while later I tried to turn it on again and still nothing. Is there anyway I can reset it to get back into it? Please help!!
    Thanks ahead of time!

The screen on my ipod touch is frozen with the iTunes symbol and the connection cord. I don't know how to get past this. Has been like this for over a week. Need help PLEASE.

    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

    Try the following:

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
