My Itunes app is stuck on my phone after accessing a podacast. i am unable to get out of it. The screen shows quicktime logo and despite pressing on the done button nothing happens. I can close the Itunes app, but the minute I access it get the same podcast menu.
Place the device in DFU mode then restore it.

It's not uncommon for it to not work the first time and sometimes, you have to try it a few times. Turn off your antivirus software and your firewall while you are trying to restore the iPad. Enable them again after you restore.
If that still won't work, post back with detailed information as to what exactly does happen as you go through the process. -

Same here. I tried to update my iPhone 5S and iPad 4 to 7.1 but iTunes wiped out them. This thing already happened for iOS 7.0.6 update. What happened to Apple? I am really curious whether Apple is aware of this problem.

if do this how can I avoid losing all my pictures videos etc?Pictures/Videos in your camera roll? If so, & not backed up or imported to your computer, they are gone. There's no supported way to recover them now.

I tried to restore my iPhone with iTunes and a message popped up saying could not restore. When the phone turns on, the screen shows an iTunes logo, an up arrow, and a USB cord. I have tried restarting and it goes back to that screen.

iPad locks up when doing iOS upgrade. Screen shows iTunes icon and connector. System will not power up or restart. Any ideas?
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY. -
I was notified of an iTunes update for my iPhone; I tried to download, but am just showing the screen with the iTunes logo and a picture of a cable end. Phone has been inoperable all day.

It sounds like you were updating your phone, and now it is unresponsive with an iTunes and usb cable on the screen. This appears to be recovery mode, and you should be able to restore the device using the following article to get that install completed:
If you can't update or restore your iOS device

If not, then reset the device with the following article, and then attempt the restore with the above article:

To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

My Apple TV does not work after trying to install the new software update. The main light keeps blinking rapidly and on the screen it shows the itunes icon and a USB cable. What does that mean?
The Apple TV is in recovery mode. Try to restore the Apple TV. Follow the link for instructions on the restore process.

My son's ipod touch 3 screen shows a USB cable image and ask to connect to the itune. Try to get it to recognize it by using DFU Mode. Then restore.

iPod first stopped updating/downloading apps, then shut down completely. Finally got around to plugging it into our home Mac and restoring it, which all seemed to go fine. However the screen is still unresponsive, I have tried turning it off and on again etc.
Thank you for the speedy reply! I suspected it to be a hardware fault but found a lot of people online had experienced the same problem. What should I do? Obviously it is well out of warranty and the battery is literally brand new. Seems a sad waste if it cannot be repaired. I've yet to find a definitive answer or what to do, be it contact Apple etc....

Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore. -
What will the screen show when I deauthorize all computers? Will it show them and then I select the ones to authorize? I don't want to undo or be unable to re-authorize the ones I still want.

You have to authorize a computer from that computer. You cannot authorize a computer from another computer. -
My IPAD 3 FROZE while updating to IOS 6.1.3 Cannot turn IPAD off, cannot connect to ITUNES. Screen shows Apple Logo and vertical progress bar. Progress shows about 50%. Can anyone suggest a solution? Note IPAD 3 still has power and is still showing the LOGO ect. My WIFI is active as I have three other devices able to use WIFI. Thank you for your help
