The sent messages issue

Hi.
Is there a list of which phones have the problem?
I have a 6085 and if I send an sms from PC Suite, it doesn't get saved by PC Suite and that is a damn nuisance.
Simon.

It really has nothing to do with the Email client you are using to send Mail. It does have everything to do with the Recipients Junk/Spam filter they are using. Mac Mail is not flagging your outgoing mail as Junk. No email program does that. It get flagged as Junk by the program the recipient is using.
That is unless you are sending these emails in bulk with many address in the To field. Some email programs see that and think Hey this must be Spam as it is being sent to X number of email addresses at the same time.

  • Apple Mail and the "sent messages" verus "sent" folder

I have a Mac Pro and a MacBook Pro, both running Snow Leopard with all the latest patches.
In mail, in what appears to be the same mail configuration and the same account, I have sent messages being stored in a "sent messages" folder on the IMAP server and the other is storing it a "sent" folder.
I can't seem to find a way to get them both to use the same folder and I don't see that in the "Mailbox behavior" tab.
Any ideas how to get them to use the same folder?

Where is the Sent Messages folder listed? If it is not under MAILBOXES but in an IMAP folder, select it and go to Mailbox menu, Use this mailbox for>Sent.
It should disappear and sent messages then appear in the Sent folder.

  • I'm stuck at the sent messages display and I need to see my inbox

When I start my computer and click on the Thunderbird icon the screen that is displayed is the list of sent messages. I am unable to change this screen. I did touch the GO at the top of the page and from there I saw the in box and trash but could not get that to do any thing. Shutting down and starting over didn't help I"m just stuck at the sent messages. I cant even read the messages sent to help me!

If you do not have the menu bar with File-Edit-View etc showing at the top, press the '''alt '''key to make it appear.
From the menu bar select '''View-Layout-Folder Pane'''
Now your folders will show down the left margin. Select the one you want to go to.

  • Changing where the sent messages are stored

Hi, I was wondering is there any way you can change where the sent messages are stored. I have switched from a few programs.. and there is a 'sent' folder and ' sent messages' folder on my folder list in addition to that of what mail is putting them in. I just want one folder.

Sounds like you are accessing an IMAP type account.
If so, is this the only email account and account type you are accessing with the Mail.app?

When I send text messages to my wife's iphone I receive the sent message to my iphone.  Is there anyway to prevent this from happening?

Having seperate apple ID's will fix it, but here's how to fix it without adding a new ID.
Go to settings, messages, send and receive, be sure your number is the only one checked. If her number is checked as well you will receive your texts to her as well.

  • When deleting a user created folder from On My Mac in Mac Mail the sent messages that are part of conversations that reside there are not deleted, only the received mail gets deleted.

When deleting a user created folder from On My Mac in Mac Mail the sent messages that are part of conversations that reside there are not deleted, only the received mail gets deleted. Any way for both the received and sent mail that resides there to be deleted?
I create a lot of project folders where i keep all my conversations regarding the project. Once the project is finished i would like to just delete the folder and get rid of all the emails associated with it but when i delete the folder i've noticed that only received messages are deleted. Now I am stuck trying to sort through my sent folder for messages that were returned there after the conversations was supposedly deleted.

Mail/Preferences/Viewing - un-check include related messages, delete the folder, then go back and reset yo include.

  • Can Mail access the sent messages on my POP3 server (webmail)?

    Hi there,
I recently got a blackberry, mainly for the email etc. It's all great, but I have stumbled on an issue that I can't figure out:
When I send an email from it, it somehow gets a copy of the sent email into the sent items on my webmail server. But how can I get a copy of my sent messages into my Mac Mail?
In the Mail preferences, I see that there are settings regarding the inbox, but nothing that I have found lets me import messages that I have sent via webmail - or that are in my different webmail "sent items" folders.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!!

Blackberry/RIM has their own proprietary email service, so assuming you could access your sent messages, you would need to find out from them how you would do it. Normally, POP mail is not stored on servers, that is when you receive mail it's immediately downloaded to your computer unless you set a flag in your email application to save a copy on the server. Sent mail doesn't originate from your email server, so it's all stored locally. I would presume storing sent mail on a Blackberry wouldn't make a great deal of sense because it would eat a lot of memory space of which there's not a great deal on a cell phone.
Perhaps RIM's mail is IMAP rather than POP where everything is on the server.

  • Problem with not saving the sent messages option

I tried to deactivate the option to save sent messages--- messages--> options---> settings-->other---> save.... Yes /no,     try this please and reply .... Its a very big problem for me  please nokia help----
and if that is not enough my battery is dead very fast because of the wifi connection that I can't turn off if keeps reconnecting alone!!!!! Even I turned every thing off
nokia you must help with an upcoming firmware update please

I've got the solution for one of your problems, but I want you to solve one that I have related to the sms. In order to stop your phone from connecting to the wifi set up your emails account first and it will stop. you have to go emails>>settings>>select the email account>>synchronisation>> retrieval days>> select none, because if you don't have data on your phone, it always try to retrieve the mails, and then it when the wifi comes out.  Now my issue is that i can't see the ID when I got a sms even if I had it saved on my contact list, it is driving me crazy, I'm about to throw the phone away, please reply

  • And the sent messages went where...?

Hope someone can help - my girlfriend's iBook is fairly new but she's been having problems in mail - basically none of her sent messages have shown up in the 'sent' folder for the last five days. Before that they are all there. We're pretty sure she hasn't overloaded her mailbox and has recently junked some messages so she's got about 100 in her inbox, 100 in the sent with no serious attachments.
    Any ideas gratefully received.

What type of mail account is this (POP, IMAP, .Mac)? If IMAP or .Mac, what are the Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors > Sent settings?

  • TS2755 when is the text message issue going to be fixed?

I am very frustrated with my iphone. Texting is a huge part of my business and communication with children needing to contact me. The texts do not come through, only send sometimes and I am sick of this. The "fixes" dont work, I have only had this phone 6 months and have had my carrier replace it because I thought it was a phone issue. I am very ready to throw this phone into the garbage where it belongs and go back to android. Any suggestions?

SMS is a carrier feature, contact the carrier to troubleshoot.
There is not messaging issue with iOS.

Then do that and stop making idle threats to us, your fellow users.

  • Since I got my iPhone4 whenever I sent a message the sent message showed up in a box with a green background.  Yesterday the background switched from green to blue.  Does this signify anything?

Does the background color of the box containing a sent message have any significance?  As in, it was green and now it's blue.

To expand on the previous poster.
    For those blue iMessages.
    http://www.apple.com/ios/features.html#imessage
Messages sent when blue don't use up your SMS plan with your carrier, purely data through Apple.
Only works when messagings another iPhone user running iOS5 or later.

  • IMessage - how to show if someone received and read the sent message?

    Hi,
I'm trying to figure out how to see when I sent a iMessage to someone if they have received it and "read" it.  I know in settings there's an option that shows others when I have read their messages.  Do they have to have this turned on in order for me to see this?

Yes, as far as I know, they do. I enabled the setting on my phone and my husband's because it's nice to see when he read my message. (I doubt he pays attention to that feature, but it's important to me.) I haven't used iOS with anyone else yet. Apparently none of my iPhone owning friends have updated to iOS 5 yet.
