The server is not available error when synci

Hi,
When click the sync manager in Vista x64 I get the error box "The server is not available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists". Does anyone know how to sort this out as it used to work on Vista ok but has stopped in the past few weeks?
Thanks in advance
Mike

Under the sync manager go to Player Settigns->"Your Device" and check to see what is setup to sync. I would guess that the settings for synchronizing "Organizer data" is checked and that its trying to contact microsoft outlook (or other email program) to synchronize contact and calendar info. But that is just a guess. Its the only reason I can think of why you would get an error about not being able to contact a server.

  • Receive a "Server is Not Available" error when trying to connect win 7 pro PC to Windows Server Essentials 2012 R2 Domain via Connector

I am trying to connect Windows 7 Pro 64 bit SP1 Computers to a Windows Server 2012 Essentials R2 domain and I receive the following error: "The server is not available.  Try connecting to this computer again, or for more information, see Troubleshoot
connecting computers to the server."  I have tried all of the steps in the Microsoft technet article "http://technet.microsoft.com/library/jj635102.aspx" and still am receiving this error.  A little background on this specific case...
All of these computers were already attached to a different Windows Server Essentials 2012 R2 domain.  They have all been taken off the existing domain and added to a workgroup.  I have uninstalled the Server Essentials 2012 Connector and deleted
all log files.  Has anyone else had this issue?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  This is an urgent issue...  Thanks in advance all!

Would you be willing to run this script on your server?

  • Essentials Connector: The server is not available after upgrade from Windows 8 Pro to Windows 8.1. Pro

    Hi all
As many others I am facing also connection problems with Windows Server 2012 Essentials R2 and a windows client pc.
The client pc in question, with windows 8 pro, has been successfully joined through the essentials connector to the domain.
All things went good: media streaming, shared folders, a successfull backup has been started through the essentials launchpad, the client appeared as online in the devices tab of the essentials dashboard.
Then I upgraded the pc to windows 8.1 pro.
Now the client can't connect to the server. Following issues appear:
The client pc is showed as offline the the dashboard when it is online.
Backups (from launchpad or server) aren't  possible -> no connection to the windows server essentials adminitration service.
    Dashboard not available from launchpad
The message "the server is not available" appears, when I try to reconnect the client by the essentials connector.
    BUT:
ping to the server's ip address works.
    media streaming is also ok
    shared folders are still available.
Any ideas what changed with the upgrade to 8.1 Pro? Is the a firewall problem on the client pc?
    Many thanks for your help.
PS. If anyone needs a specific log file from the server or the client, please let me know.

    Hi Justin
I executed all you instructions, but nothing helped.
I add here the ClientDeploy.log and the ComputerConnector.log
The ClientDeploy stopps after a registry insert error.
The user executing the connector is member of the Administrators Group on the Client pc.
I started the connector even with "Run as Administrator" but nothing helped.
Any ideas why this registry insert failes?
Thanks for you help and best regards
    Hans

  • Error trying to Connect to WSE 2012 R2 with Connector Software - The server is not available

I had to completely reset my MS Surface Pro 3 due to virus activity, so it was wiped and reinstalled. It had previously connected to the Server without
hiccup. Ever since doing this I cannot reconnect using the SERVERNAME\Connect process - it continually fails. I have reviewed the forums and web for a week trying different solutions to no avail. I would appreciate it if someone could advise?
    I have:
Ensured that the Connector Software update is not installed from Installed Updates
Checked the Bindings in IIS Manager against the WSS Certificate Web Service and it is set to SERVERNAME.
Ensured my time on the Client is synchronised
Tried connecting using the original PC-Name and when that didn't work, I have tried a new name and removed the old device from the server.
I have ensured that I am on a Workgroup.
The install process finds the server sets up connector and asks for my network user name and password and then continues for a fair time until it
    comes back with the error”:
"The server is not available/ Try connecting this computer again, of for more information, see Troubleshoot connecting computers to the server.”
I am not sure how much of the log to include as it all doesn’t fit:

I would appreciate any help I can get please as I am a novice and do not understand a lot about the certificate and DNS errors.

Would you please try manually set the DNS address on client NIC to the IP of your server, then try run the connector again?

IPad constantly reboots every 2-3 minutes, after full recovery is not activated to  wi-fi, and Itunes - for 20 days, Itunes says that the activation was not possible because the server is not available try again later. Hello this is happening to us also (minus the Bluetooth speaker).  We can't figure out what is causing the data usage.  I turned off mobile data as soon s I activated the device, and got the message that unless I am connected to WiFi.....(that is exactly what I wanted). We watched Netflix for about three hours, then the alerts started.  Like you we have many devices connected and never used over 2GB now all of a sudden we have used it in a matter of hours.  My husband called Verizon  and got the usual doubting Thomas response.  I understand that they don't know my device settings.  So over the phone we check all the settings and turned  off every possible culprit eating up the data and end the call.  By now I have purchased another gig for the month!  Assured we are NOT using mobile data, we continue on the IE path to bliss.  HA!  A few hours later I check the mobile data usage on the Verizon website and that darn thing is still using data.  After two more phone calls and two VERY uneventful trips to the local store we were told to take out the sim card.  This has stopped the data usage, but it defeats the purpose of having the data plan.  I could have just stuck with my Surface.  Verizon sent us a new sim card.  Its been installed and I have set my homepage to Verizon mobile data usage (just kidding) but I am on that site a lot.   I am surprised at the number of complaints about this device.  When we called the Verizon support acted as though this was the first time they had heard about this.   Loved your post, you should write for a living.

  • OUTLOOK can not open and prompt "the server is not available"

The user configured multiple accounts in profile, when open MFCMAPI first, OUTLOOK can't open normally and prompt "the server is not available".
    How to solve this problem?

Are you able to launch Outlook 2010 if the MFCMAPI is not running? If you happen to know the IP address and server name of your Exchange server. Please try to ping both of them from client side. If it is successful, then the connection to the server is good.
You might try to run Test E-mail AutoConfiguration which is developed to test connection with Microsoft Exchange Server. Follow below steps:
    a.
While Outlook is running, click the CTRL key and then right-click the Outlook icon in the system tray and then select “Test Email Autoconfiguration”.
    b. Confirm that your email address is in the address field,
uncheck “Use Guessmart” and “secure Guessmart
authentication” boxes. Then click the “Test” button.
After the testing is completed, you can see the results for the selected account. It will show you the complete details of the account like Protocol, Server, Port, Login Name, SSL (enabled) etc. Then you should be able to see what exactly goes wrong.

  • "Error Dialog: The server could not be contacted " when deploying web srvc

I have the J2EE 1.4 and Application Server 8 Q1 installed under windows. I have used all of the defaults on the install. The admin port is 4848. I want to install a web service on the http listener at 3345 (8080 was used and 3345 was substituted at installation time). I am getting the error from the deploytool when deploying the example web service "Hello". I am sure that the server is running and that the userid and password are the correct (I can log into the admin console with them). I've seen this error in other posts, but no solution. Does anyone have a solution to this???
    Thanks in advance : )

yep, i get d same error on that, in fact, port 8000 is d default web service port, if i deploy the application via invalid port (eg. 4848 or 1234), i will get an error, say "cannot obtain a connected depolyment manager". but if i deploy that via 8000 (or 9191, it is also avaliable, casue i can connect to http://localhost:9191/ as default j2ee home page as well), i will get the error " the server could not be contected", and i m definitely sure that i can connect to console via 8000 and j2ee server is running by typing "j2ee -verbose" in command line.

  • LS Getting the error "The data could not be saved because the server could not be contacted" when deploying on my local desktop

    Hi:
I have a very simple test LS App:
1 Table "Person" with 1 property "Name"
    One totally standard Editable Grid
So no complicated calculations that could timed out...
When I hit F5 the screen launches and shows the data, but when I try to create a new Person it waits for about 2 minutes and then the following error appears:
The data could not be saved because the server could not be contacted. Please check your network connection and try saving again. The Operation timed out.
Despite the error the data gets persisted on the database.
I am on VS 2013 Pro Update 4 and SQL Server LocalDB 2012 (v11.0).

If you decide to try again I would:
    1) Uninstall Visual Studio
    2) Uninstall SQL Server (all versions)
    3) Re-install SQL Server
    4) Re-Install Visual Studio

  • "The server responded with an error" when modifying or deleting an item

I can't modify or edit an item in my MobileMe syncronized calendar. I can move the item to a different date or time, but if I try to delete it or remove an attendee, I get the following error:
The server responded with an error.
The request for “***” in “Calendar” in account ***.***@me.com” failed.
    The server responded with
    “500”
    to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation.
I can't delete the item, or remove attendees from me.com either.
If I create another appointment, I can delete it, so I suspect it has something to do with the fact that I have invited attendees.
    Any suggestions?

Are you behind a firewall at work or elsewhere?  Does you calendar sync with some other system like google (could be the google server is not responding)?  All we know from the message is that your mac cannot reach the server.  Maybe try later.  Are you using wifi or have an ethernet connection to the router?

  • 'Profile Server Not Available' error when trying to access Profile Manager

    Hello all,
I'm totally, totally new to OS X Server, but I have a class full of new iMac's and MacBook's that I want to be able to manage all in one go. Don't really mind about File Sharing, access from anywhere in the world etc. but I just want to be able to push updates to all of them at once as well as manage some default settings for them all.
I've set up most of what I can see I need to do in OS X Server such as the server itself as a .local, Profile Manager, Websites, VPN, Open Directory and Software Update, but when I try to access my .local through any browser, I get the main screen, but get an error page when I try to go into Profile Manager that says 'Profile Server Not Available. Please wait a moment and try again.'
Can anyone suggest where they think I might be going wrong or need to do? I can give more information or screenshots if needed, juts let me know. Any help super appreciated
    Yours,
    Elliot

    Hey,
Sorry, because I'm so new I don't quite get what you mean. A little more information is I'm using my MacBook which is connected to the same WiFi network as the other Mac's. What do you mean by the FQDN?
I'm able to type in the IP address etc. on any other of the Mac's and it loads the 'Welcome to OS X Server' page, it's just when I select Profile Manager, I get the error. Thanks for getting back though, appreciated the quick help.. and I'm still super stuck. I've got a whole day on it today ha.

  • Cluster Not Available error when booting OVM server DOM0 from USB

    Hi all,
I have been wanting to run OVM 2.2 from a USB stick for a while now. I ran through the install CD today and saw there was a 'minimal USB install' option on the installation screen. So I plugged in a 4GB USB stick, rebooted, and ran the USB install.
After a while, the install completed, OVM booted up perfectly it seemed, and I was happy.
The server had no local storage apart from this USB stick as we are going to be hooking it up to an iSCSI target for guest VM storage.
This was a new lab setup, so I got the VM Manager running on another system, connected to the USB booted OVM server, and went to create a pool.
Running the 'test connection' that worked fine.
Trying to add the pool - failed. I got the error 'Cluster Not Available'
On the OVM server I did a repos.py -l and nothing gets listed.
I understand that for HA you need a repository with shared storage. However, before I have used these same install CDs with a singe local hard disk, to get OVM server running, and it did so fine.
So what's different with the USB disk install that means you don't get a repository?
Do I have to create a special repository LUN, manually connect the OVM server to this, and then use repos.py to create it?
    Cheers,
    Jeff

Ok I have read, re-read related parts of the underground manual and have hit a brick wall with the 'simple' task of setting up a NIC for dedicated iSCSI traffic. The manual does not cover this task in the iSCSI SAN section.
    So I'm in a catch 22.
My OVM server boots up, with it's single management NIC configured, but once booted - I don't want to connect to the iSCSI target via this network - I need it completely closed off.
I want to use another NIC (or bond of two) for dedicated iSCSI traffic to and from the OVM Server.
However, the underground manual strangely only seems to cover a single NIC configuration! It looks like he assumes you are going to be running iSCSI on your management NIC, which I can only think is incredibly bad practice.
I have installed OVM with the linux asknetwork - this did not give me the option to configure additional interfaces.
I then manually edited /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1 on the OVMServer, restarted network, restarted the entire box - I can ping my new NIC / IP locally from within the OVM server, but I can not connect to the iSCSI target, nor can I ping the iSCSI NIC on the OVM server from the target.
This is such a simple thing to try to achieve - super frustrating...

  • "Page not found or not available" error when accessing workitem from UWL

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I encounter a perculiar problem in our portal system, was wondering if any of you guys encounter it before.
When one of the users accesses the UWL screen and click on a particular workitem(approve trips), he gets a portal error message "Page not found or not available".
Usually we get this message if the user does not have some form of authorization, but the things is I have setup the permissions of the UWL for "end-user" for "everyone" and all existing roles in the portal.
    heres our systems setup:
    -R/3 4.7

The funny thing is, only this particular user has the problem, other users with the same roles didn't encounter such message. Also, the user do not have problem accessing to other UWL workitems, (eg, leave approval, claims, etc) only the Trips Approval have the problem.
Anyone have any ideas? Could it be some roles in the R/3 side. Any suggestions?

Answered for myself.  My situation related to the Credit/Dispute Management application. In my case, a standard task type was also defined for another application.  I had re-prioritize the xml configuration for Credit Manager, and modify the xml to include a system alias within the item configuration.  Now, my item is using the correct configuration and tasks are launching correctly from the UWL.
    Thanks!

PS - Did not need to do back-end configuration.
