The shuffle won't stop

I have had my 30GB video ipod for almost a year now. My powerbook g4 (which I have had for over a year) got messed up and I had to take it in to get fixed. They had to erase and reinstall everything. I had backed up all my itunes music on an external harddrive. When I went to reconnect my itunes and pick up the library from my external harddrive, somehow all my songs from the ext. harddrive got deleted. I managed to find a way to get all my songs from my ipod back onto the itunes (although I have been having some technical difficulties). I finally got it all worked out. Now for the last 3 days, the shuffle on my ipod just skips through songs and settles on one after going through at least 10 to 15 (taking a couple minutes) before settling on the songs it decides to settles on. It also won't always let me listen to a certain song (even after I shut off the shuffle). PLEASE HELP!! I have tried resetting my ipod and everything. I don't know what to do!

I have an iPod shuffle 4th generation and an iPod Nano 5th generation . The Nano wheel appears to have stopped working - I can't get it to play or anything. I've done the reset and it worked the first time, but now the only way I can get it to play anything is to shake it and go with the shuffle choices - I can't change volume, song, pause or turn it off.
So, I decided to start using the Shuffle which I was given as a present last year. I've plugged it into my laptop (running windows 8 and newest version of iTunes). It appears in iTunes on the left hand side, but when I click to sync (whether I tick sync all or choose artists) it says synched but has no music. It seems to not be linked to the music library - when I tick synch all songs, next to the "sync music" it says 0 songs?
Any help to fix either would be really appreciated - I'm without any music at the moment and I'm going away this weekend!

I have a 4th gen Shuffle and when I try to charge it, a red light turns on and the Shuffle won't charge. How do I fix this?

So I haven't used my Shuffle in months and I don't remember how much battery was left when I stopped using it. When I connect my ipod to my laptop, a red light glows and my computer, nor my laptop will recogonize the ipod. It won't charge either. I've left it connected to an outlet and my laptop for hours but the red light won't go away. Help, please!

If you connected it to both your computer's USB port and a USB power adapter on a wall outlet, I think you've ruled out a problem with the power source. Since you at least get the red light, the USB docking cable is probably OK.
So, if it's not the USB port or the docking cable, the cause is likely to be on the shuffle. It may be the battery or a problem on the logic board. If it was just the battery, I think it would still appear in iTunes on the computer (or at least be recognized by the system).
(If this shuffle is less than one year from purchase date, it is under warranty.)

My new iPod Shuffle has only 3 songs to sync with iTunes but it won't stop blinking orange.

What do you mean you can't set it up? Are you trying to connect to iTunes for the first time to set it up and start syncing content over to it?

On the now playing screen, tap the artwork one time to bring up additional controls including the Shuffle and Repeat options. Tap the Shuffle icon (the two arrows crossing each other) until it turns blue to signal that it is enabled.

I have iphone 6 with ios 8.1.1. The bluetooth pairs with my sony car radio and everything works fine. However, the iphone won't stop searching for other devices.

The Shuffle won't shuffle

Does anyone else have a problem with the shuffle not shuffling. I understand how it is supposed to work eg moving the buttong from off to the right point, but this doesn't work.

I live in Oklahoma and I run an average of 60 miles a week. There is no way short of hermetically sealing the entire unit or using a sealed arm band or the like to keep sweat out of the headphone jack. Sweat will run right down the cord and into the jack. Of course, the reason I bought this unit was to get away from strapping stuff to my arm like was necessar with the nano. I assumed that if they are marketing a tiny shuffle for the workout crowd, it would be able to take all the sweat you can throw at it, like my Garmin wrist unit, etc. I think this technology will probably be the standard in workout MP3s going forward, so I'm sure companies will start making them waterproof. Some growing pains...

I left a negative feedback, and now the seller won't stop emailing me.

Well, I'm sorry to hear that you had a crummy experience with this transaction. Sometimes, if you let a seller know ahead of time that you are unhappy with your item, they might make amends, but it is completely within your right as a buyer to expect to get the item you bought the first time around so..... Assuming the messages are coming via ebay messages and not your personal email, you'll have to sit down at a desktop or open a web browser on your phone and log into your account. Go to your Messages. On each one, there should be a section at the bottom that looks like what I have attached below. Go to the Report an inappropriate email and follow the instructions. Do this for EVERY message that you've been sent by this person. I don't know what good it ever does but this is what you can do. Report them. For each message sent. When a seller makes a Feedback Revision request, they are warned by ebay NOT to harass the buyer to do comply. The seller really should know better than to do this to you. I too have a problem with unwarranted and unwanted messages from a fellow ebay member (not a customer) who has been reported by me to ebay multiple times and long-ago blocked but still has somehow managed to circumvent it to continue to contact me. In the most recent message, he suggested I have marital relations with a pig. He also told me he has run out of his meds. I don't reply to something like that. I would suggest you not either with this seller. Eventually, someone else will leave bad feedback for this seller and you'll be off the hook. Good luck as you carry forward.

HT4367 just bought an apple tv and updated it and now the light won't stop flashing... even after i tried to restore via itunes and all i got was a unknown error message... hey apple you guys have a fix for this?

I just got an apple tv and it dosen't work at all. I tried to use the home share feature with my iMac and both devices don't see each other, yet they are o the same network. I am not using a apple router. I tried updating the apple tv to see if that would resolve the issue but now the status light just blinks rapidly. I tried using itunes restore it but all i get is an unknown error. So with all of this said what is the fix apple?

Is there any way to fix my iphone 4? The screen won't stop flickering, flipping the screen backwards, and randomly turning the screen white, red or black? HELP!

I don't know if it's a hardware issue, software issue or what. If replacing the screen or other parts would help? Or if the phone is done for? Just really desperate! I don't know what to do! I haven't ever dropped the phone or had any water damage either... Please help!

1. Try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
2. If that doesn't solve the issue, backup the device and restore it as new.

NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.

Installed Firware Update on my iMac, now the fan won't stop running.

I successfully installed the firmware update on my 20" Intel Core Duo 2 iMac. Everything was fine, it restarted all was working until I put it to sleep. This is when the fans came on and never turned off. I tried to reset the SMC by following the instructions to unplug everything and the power. I even left it overngiht unplugged. But now the fan is on high all of the time. It never even changes pitch like its stuck at one speed. I'm waiting for the applecare line to open at 9AM EST.
I have to say that I have been an apple customer for many years like many of you and I'm a bit bothered by my experiences so far with the new Intel line of computers. I also bought a new MacBook Pro that they had to replace after 4 days of use due to a fan noise that was abnormally high and pitched. The Mac Genius at the 5th Ave store didn't even try to take a look at it. He heard the words loud fan noise 4 days old and they replaced it on the spot. This experience of course reinforced my love of Apple. Lets see HP do that as quickly as Apple did. But to now have another problem with the iMac leaves me disheartened. I have more important things to do than run down to the Apple store again.

Yes, I checked to make sure that the Firmware and EFI were the correct versions. We did an SMC reset, a PRAM reset etc. They replaced the iMac I just brought home a new machine. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with it either. The fan was running even after you put it to sleep. So they just replaced it. It will go into the refurbished line now.
As an FYI the Mac Genius told me, so take it with a grain of salt, that they have so many swaps on the new Intel Core 2 Duo machines that they have been shipping out almost as many as coming in. They have become so good at doing swaps in the 5th avenue store that they had us turned around in 5 mins.
This is the 2nd Intel Core 2 Duo in as many weeks that I have had swapped.

I just got my iPod 5, and there's a bunch of problems. I locked it by accident, and the Voiceover won't stop narrating every action I make, and th double tap misunderstood my preferred password. I don't know how to get onto iTunes. SOMEONE HELP

Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see the following for how to turn off via iTunes:

Streaming audio data won't stop unless I turn off the phone for 5 minutes.

I have been testing the Curve 8330 regarding streaming audio from an icecast server. The address of the station is http://www.AirProgressive.org, click on "listen". (I have already run this by the icecast experts and they say it is a Blackberry "bug")
BLACKBERRY USERS! PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE STREAM (dataflow) DOES NOT STOP WHEN YOU CLICK "STOP" ON THE MEDIA PLAYER! (and will continue for as long as you leave it on, and even if you turn off your BB for less than 5 Minutes.) I'm not sure if you are charged for these streams, but it seems that the battery is depleted rapidly if this continues without aborting it. See details of my testing below:

I can understand that the player may continue to communicate when "stopped" to fill the lookahead buffer, but when it is restarted, it should use the same connection and not start a new one.

So, to stop the streaming server from communicating with the Blackberry handset, you must either turn it off or disable mobile network for at least 5 minutes.
It appears that the handset continues to transfer data (and therefore incur charges, if the user does not have an unlimited data plan) if the handset is not turned off or mobile network disabled for at least five minutes. It also runs down the battery much faster because the radio transmitter is actively being used, even if the user is not listening to the stream.
The Blackberry network has intervening servers that continue to receive data from the streaming server even if the handset is off. This behavior likely has utility to deal with the realities of the cellphone network, to allow the stream to be transferred from one cell to another, and deal with the possibility that the handset may be out of range for up to 5 minutes without "interruption." However, it is hard to turn off the stream.
QUESTIONS:
1. Is there a way to stop this sort of behavior using a configuration setting or something? It seems particularly stupid to start a new stream connection each time a STOP/START cycle is completed, allowing the old connections to continue streaming data (even if the data does not make it to the handset).
2. IS IT TRUE that the user will be "charged" for the data streams that are not disconnected?
3. Is there a way for a developer to send a signal to the intervening cellphone network to discontinue the orphan streams?

The NYT website won't stop loading whenever it does an auto-update. While this loading continues, other websites are unresponsive until I force the loading to terminate. This started happening with FF 4.0.1.

When I do a manual refresh on certain sites like NY Times or CNN, or when sites like NYT periodically push an update through, the updates won't stop loading. It's as though the update never completes. The rotating circle icon on the affected tab just continues indefinitely. While this is happening, other websites that I try to open or update are either very slow or unresponsive.
My fix has been to force the update to terminate by using the red X button next to the website name. Then other websites respond normally but often the one that I have manually stopped becomes unresponsive.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

It won't stop - the amount to back up keeps going up

Hi all,
I set up Time Machine a few days ago and it worked flawlessly until this morning. I noticed a small (a few mail messages and some internet history) backup had taken over half an hour and STILL said "finishing," so I stopped it. Then, I clicked "back up now" to see if it would work. The icon won't stop spinning and it keeps saying it's almost done (like, 5GB of 5GB), but the number keeps going up. Two minutes from now, it'll say "6GB of 6GB."
I downloaded TMBuddy, and here's my log for the current backup:

I got home from school at 2 and checked the computer - it still said "finishing backup." Saw your post, changed the name, and restarted. I clicked "backup now" about an hour ago. The backup started at 19.2MB, and right now it's at 36.0GB. Kind of nervous... Here's the log for the current backup:
