    Hi kalthomas,
It sounds like you are describing a feature called Activation Lock. The article below provides more details about it and will explain why you might be seeing it.

  • I am unable to connect to wifi because my sign into icloud screen reappears every 2 seconds

I am having trouble connecting to wifi because my sign into icloud screen reappears every 2 seconds, knocking it back offline. It won't take my correct password.  What do I do?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings  (if you can)
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

I forgot my password for my accounts and a message keeps popping up and won't go away or let me use my iPad, how do I get my iPad back to normal?

Go to iforgot.apple.com to recover the password for the Apple ID.

  • Why does the sign into iCloud prompt show up after every reboot?

How do I stop this?  It shows up after every shutdown or reboot ever since I "upgraded" to Mavericks.

No. Check your login items in the Users & Groups preference pane.

  • Sign into icloud keeps popping up on my old email address.  How do I stop this pop up?

pop up on my ipad asks to sign in to icloud.I don't want to sign up to icloud but the pop up continues.  Very annoying.  How can I eliminate this pesty pop up?

Try to reset your device. This won't delete your data stored on the phone.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
Press and hold on the Home button
Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.
Alternatively, you may go to Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings

  • Sign into icloud box won't go away

As soon as I power on my ipad mini, the sign into iCloud dialogue box pops up.  I type in the password, but it pops up with the box again as if I didn't type anything in.   I've tried holding the home and power buttons simultaneously to restart it, to no avail.  Box comes back once it reboots.  I've tried to restore to factory settings from itunes, but the ipad wants me to turn off the "find my ipad" option in the settings.  I can't do this either since the ipad won't let me connect to wifi/internet to verify the password for my apple ID.

Try resetting it (hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release) and as soon as it restarts quickly turn on wifi in settings.

  • Sign into iCloud pop-up message on iPad2 won't disappear off screen, have reset password multiple times but it is saying incorrect. Please HELP unable to use iPad as message appears every few seconds, iPad was working fine until now.

After the restore did the phone work properly for a while? Say, a day or so?
If so it is possible you have an app that doesn't let go of memory properly. I reboot my iPhone ( hold sleep/wake and hole till you see the apple logo) every few days. This resets the memory. The iPhone OS has doesn't seem to mange memory very well yet. So a reboot will help with that. I have had my phone almost slow to a stop before I started rebooting. Always reboot after installing a new app. Also do you close all pages in Safari when you are done? This is a good practice. Safari will run in the background and use processor time and drain your battery quicker. Create a new blank page then close all others when you are done browsing for a while. I have also found that certain web site that have animated images like weather maps will turn the phone into molasses. As soon as i close that page it gets faster.
If all of the above have no effect then as Tamara said it is time for a trip to the Genius bar.
    Good luck

  • I forgot the password on my ipad and i didnt sign into icloud or find my iphone and i connected my ipad to itunes but it doesnt let me restore my ipad as it does not connect to the apple software what should i do?

I forgot my password to my iPad and it said to connect to iTunes so I did. I went on Apple support to try and find a way to restore my iPad. The options given were to either sign into iCloud of Find my iPhone and restore it, but it wouldn't work because I didn't download the Find my iPhone app and I wasn't signed into iCloud. My other option was to connect to iTunes and restore it so I tried many times but it keeps saying that the apple software cannot be connected. I used Apple support once again to see if i can sort out the problem but nothing seems to work. Is there anything else that I can do to restore it??

    Try this:
    1. Turn off iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, slide to turn off.
    2. Connect USB cable to computer
    3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
    5. Release the Home button
    6. Open iTune (make sure you have the newest version of iTune)
    7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
    8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

  • TS4003 Since the MobileMe move I keep getting a screen that says "IDisk Conflict Resolver." I've done everything asked to "resolve" the problem but it keeps popping up every few minutes. How can I get rid of this?

Since the MobileMe move I keep getting a pop-up screen that says "IDisk Conflict Resolver." I've done everything asked to "resolve" the problem but it keeps popping up every few minutes. How can I get rid of this?

    Ok....so I have found a work around....if not a complete solution.
I'm not sure if deleting your music, uninstalling ITunes and reinstalling and adding your music back will actually affect it but I tried it again. Started from scratch.
I checked the box for "Manually manage music and videos"
Then I moved my music to phone via drag and drop, usually just boxing a row of albums at a time.
I went back into my Iphone and began the sync. The message popped up, "1 Item could not be synced" and the sync stopped. At that point, I just clicked sync again and it started back up again. It took a few go's but eventually I got all my music on my phone.
Ironically enough, the only songs that wouldn't sync were songs that I had actually purchased from Itunes....kinda odd

  • Every ten seconds my iPhone 6 asks me to sign into iCloud with an old id...passwords no longer work.  Every 10 seconds!  Help

Every 10 seconds my iPhone 6 prompts me to sign into iCloud with an old id that I have updated.  Can't use old passwords...can't figure how to change settings to change to my new id.  Very annoying....can anyone help?

So, if you changed your Apple ID to a new email address, but did not sign out of iCloud before doing so, you need to do the following:
    1.     Go to Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to the old email address. This is temporary. Do NOT verify it, do NOT change the password: Apple - My Apple ID
    2.     Go to Settings>iCloud on your device and scroll to the bottom, and click on Sign Out. When it asks for the password, type in your current Apple ID password
    3.     Go back to Manage your Apple ID, and sign in with the old ID and current password and EDIT your Apple ID back to the new email address. You may have to verify it again
    4.     Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID
    Cheers,

  • IPad stuck on "sign into iCloud" pop up

    Hey everybody,
I have searched online for the past 2 hours trying to sort this, and before I launch my iPad across the room, I thought I would take a shot at enquiring in here to see if anyone can help me.
I turned my iPad on today for the first time since moving house. Upon turning on I was greeted with  something along the lines of "iPad has not been backed up in 3 weeks, sign in to back up now". So, I enter my password and it says it's incorrect. There is an option to reset it, which I click, but I cannot get on the internet as I'm yet to connect to the wifi. I cancel the dialog box and am now being continually harassed by "sign into iCloud". By the time I cancel one, another appears!
As I've just moved home I can't even connect to the wifi through these bloody pop ups. Nor do I longer have a laptop to plug it into and use to access iTunes; it has all be set up over wifi.
I have tried the reset (holding down home and power button) to no avail, and obviously Apple advisors are not available at this hour.
I am seriously losing patience and I'm really hoping someone here can help me :(.
Many thanks in advance ! X

    Dear Sky,
I did consider that before posting. My mom was having this exact same issue today. This post came up on my google search when I was searching for solutions. Coley1991 describes the issue very well. I noticed that no solution was ever posted and that 84 other people in the last 6months have had this issue. Therefore I decided to post a solution for the record... for the archives...for the future poor souls who fall into this aggravating iCloud/wifi/apple ID log in trap and are a hair away from smashing their device on a rock out of frustration. I hope it helps.

  • Can't sign into iCloud in the pref pane.

I can't sign into icloud in the pref pane.  I get a pop up asking me to log in again and under the username and password it says my user or password in invalid.  This is kinda curious since I can login with the same user/pass to itunes store and icloud on my ipad.  On my wife's user account I was able to set up her icloud with no problems.  Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. Did you find any solution?
All services connected to my Apple-ID works fine, apart from login into iCloud prefpane.
I tried creating a new user, and that could actually log into my iCloud account. But my main account is having this problem though.

  • I was looking at the "Find my iPhone" app and I have a doubt regarding how it works for the macbook. In order to detect the location, the macbook should remain signed into iCloud. What if the thief logs out of iCloud. Would we able to locate the macbook?

I was looking at the "Find my iPhone" app and I have a doubt regarding how it works for the macbook. In order to detect the location, the macbook should remain signed into iCloud. What if the person who has stolen my macbook logs out of iCloud.
It should work fine for iPhone/iPad because we can enable "Restrictions" to prevent the user from signing out of iCloud. Do we have simialr settings for the macbook?
    Thanks,

If it's not on the device list, it indicates that someone has gone to Find My iPhone on icloud.com and manually deleted it from the device list (as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0eeddd), and it has not gone back online since (which would cause it to reappear on the device list; Find My iPhone has been turned of in settings on the device; the iClolud account has been deleted from the device; or the entire devices has been erased and restored.
Unfortunately, there's no other way to track the phone other than through Find My iPhone.  You could call your carrier and see if they would blackliste it so at least the theif couldn't use it.

You will have to provide the correct password to delete the existing account, if you have tried but are not getting the password reset email, contact Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Lost or forgotten Apple ID password.
