The significance of the Parent Supplier in Oracle EBS

Hi All,
Would anybody know the significance of the Parent Supplier Name field in the suppliers header window. Does it provide any benefits either in Purchasing/Payables module from a invoicing/PO creation perspective?
Any inputs would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Best regards,
Ning

Hi Sybrand,
Thanks for the reply.
Currently there are some dblinks in my database(with dblink names different from the database).
My concern is,
If i make global_names=TRUE, then all my earlier dblinks with that database will not work.
and if I DONOT make global_names= TRUE, then i will not be able to work with Oracle CDC/Streams with the database.
I am looking to find out any work around to overcome this deadlock type of situation.
I would be very thankful if you can give some idea to come out of this problem.
Regards,
Gowreesh

qm control is only useful for procured materials

Monitor the QM systems of vendors and manufacturers
Supply quality documents with requests for quotations and purchase orders
Certify vendors or manufacturers that have QM systems implemented, to reduce the inspection requirement
Request that quality certificates be submitted with the delivered goods and monitor the receipt of these certificates

  • What is the significance of the Assembly Deployment Target and Feature Scope?

    Hello,
We have created a project as Farm Solution (not sandbox).
Under project properties we can see an option for Assembly Deployment Target : GAC or WebApplication.
I know that GAC will deploy the dll to windows\assemblies and WebApplication will deploy to website/bin folder.
Now, we add a feature to the project; in here we can see a dropdown for scope with options as: Farm; Web; Site; WebApplication. I know that depending upon what option is chosen; the feature can then be activated by going to the respective manage features
option via SharePoint front end UI.
Can you tell me what is the significance of the Assembly Deployment Target and Feature Scope?

    >>Can you tell me what is the significance of the Assembly Deployment Target and Feature Scope?
Feature scope can be decided based on the type of artifacts you will be building
Check the below link for what type of artifacts can be build at different levels of scopes
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms454835(v=office.14).aspx
wrt to Assembly Deployment Target depends on what type of components you are deploying through your solution which will be specified in manifest.xml. There are advantages
if you deploy the components to web application rather GAC like all Apppools will not get recycled, avoiding IIS reset etc. But if you have 3rd party dlls and feature receivers which need to deployed along with the solution then its advisable to deploy to
    GAC

  • Please tell me the significance of the alphanumerics in the serial number of my sound ca

    Hi,
Will you please tell me the significance of the several letters and numbers in the serial number of my sound card. It is: MASB046755000468S.
I am expecting that it will reveal the model family, the sub classification amongst that family, retail or OEM, date of manufacture, batch, and other interesting details. In case they are of siginificance, other markings on the card are E-G03-05-3757 (B)
Also the Revision is shown as A00. Is that the earliest version? Are their higher revision numbers than this?
    Many thanks
    Palmer.

The full series OnDemand was a big selling point for me, but the reality has turned out to less than perfect to say the least. I can remember a while back trying to watch The Sopranos from the start of season 1, but they don't have the episodes on long enough for you to watch them. After a while, they take the 1st episodes off and expect you to watch from mid-way through, without watching from the start of the season, not something I want to do.
I've given up trying to watch whole seasons with onDemand, and only use the catch-up service for documentries, Eastenders and the odd comedy show.

  • What is the significance of the "Arch" in Arch Linux?

Why is this distribution called Arch Linux? What does the "Arch" part mean? Surely there must be a reason, for the developers could have easily named this distribution "Bridge Linux" or "Trapezoid Linux" for that matter.

[Q]  Why the name Arch Linux?
    [A]  From dictionary.com:
    arch
    adj.
    1. Chief; principal: their arch foe.
    2. Mischievous; roguish: an arch glance.
I came across the well-known term "arch-enemy" in a book and clued in that "arch" means "the primary", "the principal", the one that comes first among others.  Far from true with regard to Arch Linux perhaps, but I'm proud of it.  Now, the second definition may or may not fit; I guess it depends on how you use your computer.
That covers definitions 1 and 3 above. Definition 2 applies in the case of Arch fanboys. Strangely they turn up more often on other forums than here.
But yeah, I should have added that Judd chose the name with the first adjective definition in mind.

  • What is the significance of the percent and dimensions in the lower-left of the PSE9 screen?

I have a picture on my screen.   It measures about 9 1/2" by 6".  How do these numbers relate to each other, and why am I involved with something that measures about 4 feet by 2 1/2 feet?  Is it that size based solely on the pixel setting on the camera?  Can I deduce something about print quality from this information?
    Obviously, I need help.

As far as National Instruments is concerned, there isn't going to be much (if any) support under DOS for our PCI, cPCI, and PXI products. PCI and PXI (which is basically an extension of cPCI) are currently our primary platforms, and they will be supported well into the future under current operating systems like Windows 2000.
As far as cost goes, PCI and PXI are pretty comparable in most cases. You can get exact prices for different National Instruments' modules at http://www.ni.com/store

  • What is the significance of the parameter INT_NUMBER_ASSIGNMENT

    Hello SAP gurus
I am reading the documentation of BAPI that creates Quotes, Orders etc.,
In these BAPIs there is an import parameter INT_NUMBER_ASSIGNMENT
    (Internal Item Number Assignment)
In the documentation regarding this parameter it says as follows:
    Default
Space, which means that you have tried to create an order with external item numbering.
What I have noticed is that, if I don't give any value then this parameter gets a SPACE as default value.
If I send an item number manually and run quote create (BAPI_QUOTATION_CREATEFROMDATA2) or order create (BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2) bapis, then it creates the quote or order with that item number, other wise it automatically generates an Item number.
However, what I don't understand is that what other values this parameter
'INT_NUMBER_ASSIGNMENT' can have, since the doc doesnt explain it properly.
Any feedback will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ram

i figured out that it is X or Space

  • What is the significance of T code MR11 - maintain GR/IR Clearing Account .

    Dear Experts ,
Can anyone tell me the significance of the t code MR11 - Maintain GR/IR Clearing Account ?
What sort of data is displayed in it & what happens when we post the items ?
    Regards
    Anis

    Hi,
If the goods have been received, the vendor hasnu2019t invoiced for the goods and wonu2019t be invoicing (for example, the vendor has gone out of business - Use MR11
An invoice with reference to a purchase order was paid through accounts payable FI instead of procurement. Use MR11
The goods were received and sent back to the vendor for poor quality. The vendor was accidentally paid and we will not be reimbursed due to bankruptcy of the vendor - Use MR11
Quantity ordered = 100 ea. at a unit price of $1.00, receive quantity of 97 ea. at a unit price of $1.00. If the remaining balance of 3 ea. will not be shipped, purchaser needs to reduce the open quantity on the purchase order to reflect the actual amount received. DO NOT Use MR11
During the normal business flow of the documents, 99% of your Purchase Orders will show up on the GR/IR at some time and should NOT be cleared. Nothing should be done to them through MR11. When the normal business process is completed, the doument will no longer have a discrepancy between the GR and IR, and will not be on the list when you run MR11

  • Significance of the field "REVERSAL INDICATOR"

    hI gURUS,
I am trying to load data from R/3 source system to BW.
I have a key field where data is positive but when it is getting transferred to BW it is getting zero.
I checked in PSA, data is there but I have a field "REVERSAL INDICATOR" whch shows alternate 'X' values.
Do u know what is the significance of the field "REVERSAL INDICATOR"?
    thanks
    ViVA

The records which are cancelled in R/3 will be shown with reversal indicator 'X'.
Suppose you have loaded a particular document already into BW.Afterwards when you change the document and push the data into BW the BW server has to cancel the old record and add the modified one.
The extractor then creates 2 records one with 'X' (the old value)and another one with NULL (new value) in reversal indicator.
The reversal indicator is mapped to 0RECORDMODE of the data target and during compression the data will get aggregated.
