Is there any estimate date we can expect patch?

yep, they answer...
At the moment The Sims 2 and all of the expansion packs are not
supported on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. We will be working diligently with
Apple to get these issues resolved if possible. Please keep in mind that
there are some things that can only be fixed by Apple, and we will be in
direct contact with them to fix the issues that can be fixed. Please
feel free to let us know of any problems you are having relating to our
games and their ability to operate in Leopard. It will take some time
for us working with the new OS and our customers to identify issues and
make the necessary patches as needed.
Have a nice day,

  • Will The Sims 3 for Leopard 10.7.5 work on my Lion OS X 10.7.5?

    I have a Macbook Pro 13in early 2011
I would like to purchase The Sims 3, however, it says that the system requirements are
    Mac System Requirements
OS: Mac OS X 10.5.7 Leopard or higher
    CPU: Intel Core Duo Processor
    RAM: 2 GB RAM
    DISC DRIVE:
Hard Drive: At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games
Video: ATI X1600 or Nvidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100
This game will not run on PowerPC (G3/G4/G5) based Mac systems, or the GMA
will I be able to play this on my mac?

We can't help much unless you tell us exactly what happens when you try to install Mavericks. Also, please tell us exactly what model MBP you have, RAM installed, etc.

  • How can I play The Sims Complete Collection without PowerPC applications being supported?

So I downloaded Mavericks a while ago after my friend told me it was a really good idea. I hated almost everything about it to start with and since then I've found I don't hate everything but still a lot of things. I was on Snow Leopard before and, even though it was old, it was lovely; I knew where I was with it and everything worked.
    Today I went to play The Sims Complete Collection for the first time since downloading Mavericks a few months ago and it told me 'You can't open the application "The Sims Complete because PowerPC applications are no longer supported." I am SO ANGRY. I would quite happily buy the game again but they don't make them anymore so they'd all have the same system requirements. What's most frustrating is that I sold all my original edition Sims games that I'd been collecting for years to buy Complete Collection for Mac so I could still play the game I've played since the week it was released. Basically I need someone to tell me how to do one of these things;
1- Downgrade to Snow Leopard again. Bit extreme but I like the Sims a lot. I have the original discs that came with my macbook if that helps at all.
2- Don't think it can be done but is there a way I could have my Sims Complete Collection on my EA origins app? Like all my Sims 3 are.
    3-  Make PowerPC Applications playable
4- Basically anything that makes my game playable!

    Izzy118,
The short answer is that you will not be able to run Sims on your Mac unless a OSX Lion update is released.
Have a look at this thread on the Sims forum about a patch for Lion.
The long answer is that you can try to install Fusion and Snow Leopard Server, but at a cost.
Fusion is not free. Snow Leopard Server is several hundred dollars.
It will be less expensive to buy an old Mac just for your games.
    Sam.

  • Do I have enough space and memory on my 6 year old Macintosh to play The Sims 3?

I've heard that The Sims 3 requires more GB and a stronger, more upgraded RAM. Knowing my computers system memory shown above, if I install The Sims 3, will it run smoothly? If not, what should I do to clean up my computer in order for the game to play smoothly without big problems?
Here is all the information on my macintosh computer:

    Hi Phoebe!
Installing more RAM is the easy part, that can only speed up her Macbook. As for upgrading the OS from Leopard would depend on the exact specifications of the Macbook and whether it can actually handle Snow Leopard 10.6, and this is independant of the RAM question.
One thing to consider is: can the present Macbook do what she needs? If the answer is yes, then leave it as it is - except for more RAM. Is the hard drive big enough to contain whatever applications and files she needs?
Start by checking if it can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
If yes, investigate whether the applications she currently has will run on Snow Leopard and, conversely, if any new applications she might need can run on Leopard or if they require OS 10.6 or above.
OS 10.6 Snow Leopard is once again available from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Once it is running Snow Leopard You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion from the same number (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:

  • How do I upgrade my mac book to play The Sims 3?

I just bought The Sims 3 and received it today. Unfortunately, it only works with Mac OS X 10.5.7 Leopard and higher!!!! My computer wouldn't even open the 'install' icon. I have the 13 inch Mac book version OS X 10.4.11 and I'd like to upgrade so I can play this game. Can I even do that? And I need about 2 GB more of memory, can I get a card or something for that?
I'm so lost and disappointed.. Please help.

There was a question on exactly this topic a few days ago. I suggest you search past topics.
If it says it needs Leopard then very, very likely you have to have Leopard. You might get away with an earlier version of Leopard (no reason to though, since once you buy Leopard the updates are free).
My link to Leopard system requirements now shows Snow Leopard which isn't even for sale yet so maybe somebody else has a specific system requirements link for Leopard.
For hardware suggestions (more RAM) I suggest you post on the hardware forum for your computer. I think RAM upgrades are usually relatively easy to do yourself, though you have to make sure you get the right RAM (Macs can be pretty picky). Get advice from others users of your computer model on the hardware forum for your model.

  • The sims 2 expansion packs?

i have the sims 2 and 9 of the expansion packs, i got mac os x snow leopard version 10.6.3 because it said on the boxes that i need version 10.3.9 or later, the sims 2 works on its own, and still works when i add pets to the game but it won't work if i add anything else, please help

First off, is it osx app or just windows. Second, if it is osx is it Universal binary or just ppc, or just intel. If it is just intel, you are fine. If it is ppc, then i would recommend picking up a windows os, and installing it in bootcamp. I have been running a few games in bootcamp and they all run great. I do not have the Santa Rosa MBP, i have the older 2.33 2gb ram, but this laptop runs multiple games at full graphics mode. You shouldnt have any problems running or installing the game.

  • Updated to Lion and now The Sims 3 freezes. Any ideas?

Recently upgraded to Lion from Snow Leopard. The sims 3 was running fine on Snow Leapord but not seems to crash and not work at all on Lion. Any ideas why?

If the Sims 3 had been running under the Developer releases for NVidia 9400 and at the last minute Apple introduced something that broke previously checked code then shame on Apple. It's not inconcievable,
they blew a few other things with Lion, such as not having a convenient "run this App without any of the
trackpad enhancements" switch or providing a clear disclosure that PPC apps would stop working.
But, in this specific case I think you have to blame EA. At the absolute minimum they owed customer who they sold the Sims 3 to a warning that "Sims3 will not run under Mac OS X Lion with an NVidia 9400 graphics card."
And if anyone wants to initiate it, I'll join a class action here. EA is *still selling* the Sims 3 as being Mac OS X compatible. This is simply, and undeniably fraud.
Now if Apple were doing as good a job as they did a decade ago there would have been a simple switch to click to say "Run this application as though under 10.6". But they did give EA more than enough opprotunity to fix their application or at least warn users to delay an upgrade. This is also specific to something the Sims 3 does.
I'm running Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age II fine, both under Transgaming's cider.

  • I got problem with my network after I switch the SIM card.

I've go back to china in my summer holiday and of cause switched to a chinese SIM card. But im not able to use any software to get on the internet with it although it does show 3g on the top left coner. everthing else are working fine, i can dail, pick up phone calls, send or recieve messages, and one of online chating software which is a bit like MSN is still functioning. I've asked local shops and customer service, and tried everything they suggest like reset network, reset the whole phone and i even recovered it to its initial status, but the network still the same. The SIM card works fine and it is able to connect the internet on my friends cell phone, and i used it last summer holidy without any problem at all.
I'm guessing there might be some setup problem after i upgraded the system, I really hope someone can help me with this problem.

    Hi,
What version of the OS did you upgrade from ?
Anything before OS X 10.8.2 may have an issue if the Logic/Mother board has been replaced and the Serial Number not "flashed" back to it.
In the Apple Icon menu use the About this Mac item.
In the new panel click twice on the line that tells you the current OS level
It will change to the Build number (and alternative count to the OS versions) and then the Serial Number.
If it is missing you need to get it replaced.
(It is supposed to be done on Repair or Refurbishment).
An Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider as the best choices.
There are apps you can download (They are Mac Model specific) but needs careful typing as it is a once only trip.

Dopo aver aggiornato il mio imac a lion, the sims 3 e the sims medieval(comprato un giorno fa)si bloccano...(prima dell'aggiornamento non era mai successo)
    Cosa fare????????

  • The Sims 3 for MACBOOK PRO OS X 10.7.5

Will it run? Because when I first purchased this macbook, I also purchased The Sims 3 and it would not run properly. The graphics were off and it was laggy. I really enjoyed this game and would like to purchase it again but I do not want to waste money if it is not compatable. In addition, if it is not currently compatable, can something be added to my MacBook Pro in order for it to run properly? Thank you.

Mac OS X 10.5.7 Leopard or higher
    Intel Core Duo Processor
    2 GB RAM
ATI X1600 or Nvidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100.
At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games
This game will not run on PowerPC (G3/G4/G5) based Mac systems, or the GMA 950 class of integrated video cards.
Those are EA games requirements for the sims 3
    I have OS X 10.7.5
2.3 Ghz Inter core i5 processor
I have Intel HD graphics 3000 384 MB ( which im guessing is the problem )
I have contacted EA games before and they said my graphics card needed to be higher, which I didnt understand considering I bought a brand new macbook pro...but regardless, if this is the case, what do I need to purchase for my Macbook in order to make this run properly?

  • HT1688 I have a damaged I-Phone and I need the contents of my calendar off of it. I did not have Mobile me at the time.  Can I swap out the sim card from the broken phone to a new phone and recover this calendar?

I have an older I-Phone (3G) that for some reason the body of the phone has split in two.  This phone was a business phone and it had a lot of important information on it. I have a second phone that is also a 3G.  On the broken phone there is a lot of important information that I need in my calendar. Im not worried about anything else but the calendar.  I didn't have the Mobile Me account at that time or I would be having this problem. Does anybody know if I can ust switch out the sim cards. I just need to recover the old calendar, so im hoping that the calendar will transfer when I switch the sim card into the good 3G. If that doesn't work does anybody know of anyway that I can retrieve this information off of this phone?

Nothing is stored on the sim card on an iPhone.  If you backed up to your computer the backup will contain your calendar events.  Otherwise, if your phone isn't functioning there is no way to back up or extract your calendar at this point.

There is no such thing as an unlock code.   Sprint may have processed the unlock, and then requested you restore the iPhone using iTunes to complete it. But that's it. There is no code to enter, and nowhere to enter it any way.
