The single tap on our track pads works sporadically

Our track pad arrow works fine. When I single click, the function does not work.  It seems to not to have a pattern. Need help trouble shooting.

Hi we had also a big issue with SSO and domains. Our Portal was in domain <portalservername>.a.b.c and our BW System in <bwservername>.a.b.c
So we thought SSO should work. But the portal had an alias name enterprise.portal.b.c (which was actually used to access the portal via the Internet Explorer)
And that was the problem.
The Ticket will be created for portal.b.c and the Session Ticket will only be send to Servers in portal.b.c Domains. Our BW System is in a.b.c so the Session Ticket was not sent.
We solved the problem (with help of SAP) by adding a system Alias for the BW System named <bwservername>.portal.b.c
And now SSO was working.
So not the Domain the system is in is important but the url in your browser window is important.
I dont know if this help you in any way but because i wanted it to share anyway.
Best regards,
Kai

    khryzpher,
your model MacBook Pro’s Apple Hardware Test comes on one of those two grey installation DVDs; it’s an essential tool for troubleshooting. You’re going to need to contact Apple directly to purchase a replacement pair for your MacBook Pro; be sure to have its serial number handy.
Your model MacBook Pro didn’t originally come with Snow Leopard installed at the factory. If you don’t have the white retail Snow Leopard DVD, then I’d also recommend that you purchase that, in case your hard drive fails and you’d like to install Snow Leopard onto its replacement.

I just upgraded to OSX Mavericks and when i use the gestures on my magic track pad it responds oddly.  Sometimes it won't recognize when my simple gesture of scrolling through a document.

Gestures is not working like it did before. The side to side, forward back swipe, is very picky. Sometimes it takes four or five tries before it works. And yes I know how to do it. I have had a magic trackpad for about one year. And was greatly pleased by how it worked, BEFORE Mavericks. It has has indeed changed.

  • Blackberry track pad working but not keyboard!

About a month ago, my track pad stopped working suddenly, out of nowhere, it came and went for like 2 weeks, then started working properly again. Now ive got a problem with my "A" button, which doesnt work at all and have discovered that my delete button is constantly being pressed even when i take off the cover, etc. Which basicly means anything i write is automaticly deleted... After this problem went away, now none of the buttons on the keyboard work , not even the delete button. I am going to send it to the repair but I HAVE TO BACK UP EVERYTHING FIRST, but i cannot do it because i cannot get into my simcard, to save all the numbers from the phone onto there and save the stuff on my phone onto the computer!
I really need help, please somebody help me!!!

It sounds like what I have seen multiple times on a device with moisture damage.
Even sitting on a bathroom counter during a hot steamy shower or bath can cause keyboard and trackball problems UNTIL properly dried out. It really is more common than you think.
See below for information on drying out the device.
Meanwhile, you need to simply use the BlackBerry Desktop Software to backup the device to your PC, IF you do send it in for repair (which I am not sure you need). You can't backup to your SIM card, in one process. You must open EACH contact and scroll to EACH number and press Menu > Save to Phone SIM.
    1. Remove the battery immediately!! Do not attempt to turn on your BlackBerry.
    2. Let the device dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days* (see below)
    3. DO NOT "check it each day" by placing the battery in. Leave it be to dry completely. This takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can only damage it more (moisture + electrical current = disaster).
    4. If the device is warm after the drying period, allow it to cool to room temperature before placing the battery back in.
Suggestions on drying your BlackBerry in a warm place (open, with the battery out):
*Place the BB in a container of dry UNcooked rice, and then you might also place it in any of the locations mentioned below.
*On top of any dry heat emitting electronic component: TV cabinet or CRT, LCD, cable TV/Satellite converter box or plasma monitor
*On the dashboard of your car on a sunny day

  • Why don't my Keyboard and track pad work after being connected to Apple Thunderbolt Display?

I've run into this several times, after closing than unhooking the thunderbolt cables with an external usb keyboard and mouse hooked to the display, the keyboard and track pad no longer work on my macbook pro. I end up having to hard boot it (holding down power button). This seems like a glaring bug since I can reproduce this often.

so far during the re installation, the trackpad has already been ignored but the USB mouse still works so I don't know whats going to happen.

  • Why won't my track pad work to sign on?

I just got my trackpad, paired it and then I installed Lion. Now when my computer goes to sleep and I then try to sign on I have to plug in my mouse because the trackpad will only move the arrow but it won't click on my login. Any suggestions?

If it is the trackpad on the MacBook has the battery swollen? It is under the track pad and there are reports on the forum that it can affect the trackpad.

  • Why won't my keyboard or track pad work on my MacBook Pro laptop?

The keys on the keyboard and the cursor will not respond on the monitor. It stopped working once and came back on. Then in the middle if doing something it stopped working again. What can I do??

Take it in for service, there is noting we can do for you.

  • What is the average cost to replace track pad on 15 inch MacBook pro

    Is it worth fixing

On Unibody Macs the trackpad and the keyboard are bonded to the aluminum chassis, called the topcase, and must be replaced as a whole. Besides the cost of the part, the repair is expensive cause of the massive amount of delicate labor involved: the entire guts of the Mac have to be taken out and transferred to the new chassis. I've heard prices ranging from $600 up to $900 or more, depending on location.
In your case, if the trackpad is failing cause of spilled liquid, note that other parts below the trackpack may also be damaged and raise the cost of repair even higher.

  • MBP keyboard and track pad not working

Today the keyboard and track pad on our mac book pro laptop just stopped working. The mouse connected to it by usb continued to work but we can't type or anything. We tried the ^F6 keyboard shortcut but it did nothing since of course the keyboard isnt working. And it is also not the number lock key. The computer was working fine all day up until now. It is just under a year old. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem. It appeared yesterday and then magically "repaired" itself. My MBP was fine today. Tonight the problem is back. No response from the keyboard and track pad. Track pad works fine using a USB mouse. My problem appears at start up. The cursor is in the usual upper left hand corner. It can't be moved. Restart, sleep then restart do not solve the problem.
    Suggestions?

  • My brand new iMac track pad reverted to a system preference option that doesn't allow gestures to work or be restored, any suggestions?

I purchased a brand new IMac 21 inch a few weeks ago and restored it to my macbook pro.  A few days later the gestures on the track pad stopped working.  After listening to the advice of apple support and wasting a number of hours without success, I decided to restore the computer to new and start fresh.  The outcome was the track pad worked just fine.  I noticed the system preferences track pad choice provided options that I didn't have before.  All worked fine and of course from their I migrated apps and documents from my time machine.  a few days later I plugged my ipod in and noticed the track pad was not working.
Having spent another two hours with apple support, they concluded they would call me back as they agreed that the system preferences setup for the trackpad had reverted to an older version.
I am not certain if migrating the apps folder had anything to do with this and am waiting to hear back.  I am tempted to restore the machine to new again and see if that restores the track pad system preferences.  If it does I will avoid migrating any files to see how long the track pad works.  I have my docs, photos, and other critical folders backed up individually on a separate drive.  Let me know if anyone has experienced a similar problem.  Thanks!

Have you tried all of these?
    1. Pressing the Eject key while opening the iMac.
    2. Pressing the Eject key while closing down the iMac.
    3. Holding down the Option key while restarting the iMac.
    4. Using Disk Utility to try to Mount, Repair and Eject the disk.
    5. Holding down the Mouse while restarting the iMac.
    6. Pressing the O and F keys while closing down the iMac.
    7. Opened Applications > Utilities >Terminal and typed in 'drutil tray eject'.

  • Magic trackpad single tap not working

    Hey Everyone,
So I have a new 2014 mac mini, and I have the magic trackpad and wireless keyboard connected to it.  In my settings I have the "single tap" turned on, but when actually "tapping" with a single press, it doesn't work.  The only way it works is if I actually use the click function.  Now, I have bootcamp loaded up and these functions works perfect on my windows 8.1 partition.  Any suggestions?

Using Lion 10.7.2, iMac 2010, Bluetooth trackpad, keyboard and mouse. Suddenly computer screen/screens would freeze after a prolonged (hours>overnight) sleep, no response to the trackpad or keyboard, requiring a restart. Problem has been fixed for past 2+ weeks, after performing the following:
    1. Connect USB keyboard and mouse and restart computer.
    2. Remove all 3 Bluetooth devices and partially remove batteries.
    3. Turn off Bluetooth in System Preferences.
    4. After overnight sleep, turn on Bluetooth in System Preferences.
    5. Reconnect Bluetooth keyboard. Waited another day.
    6. Reconnect Bluetooth trackpad and mouse.
    7. After overnight sleep, everything was OK.
    8. Removed USB mouse and keyboard.
    9. No further problems with sleep>freezing and bluetooth devices all OK.

  • Hi all, my mac book pro boots up, but my track pad operation is strange, cannot click on anything, although it moves around screen ok. Cannot launch anything, nor close anything. Cannot get task bar to pop up either with the mouse movement.

    Hi All,
My mac book pro 13". It boots ok and skype launches on boot up. connects to internet etc. However, whilst the mouse moves around the scren ok, used via the track pad, I cannot open anything, close anything, or get the task bar to pop up.
I can close the laptop down via the power key, and can use some short cut keys, but the track pad operation is iffy, can you suggest how I rectify this.
I have now solved this, for future reference, I have a magic track pad as well and that was connected via bluetooth and sitting else where in the house. It blocked the laptops trackpad operations. When disconnected, my laptop track pad works fine.
    Cheers

Track pad moves the cursor but will NOT allow click after a period of usage. After Forced reboot track pad works fine for a few hours. This started within hours of installing Yosemite. Help, I am afraid I will lose a document during reboot. So far I have been lucky and have not lost data.

Could be many things, we should start with this...

Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
    Any change on reboot?
