The size of pictures & fonts on my new computer are smaller than on my old computer, using firefox.

I have changed screen resolutions on my computer. I have changed the font size used in Firefox. Still the page's pictures are smaller and the articles are smaller.

Is your old computer still available and working?

I'm a new Mac user. How do you change the size of pictures in iPhoto? Sometimes when sending e-mails, the picture files are extremely large and take a long time to load... Is there any way you can make the picture or file smaller? Like on a PC, you can open the photo in the Paint program and just reduce the size... Is there anything like this for the Mac?

Assuming that you're accessing your email package from INSIDE iPhoto, you're given a choice of picture sizes. Personally, I've found "medium" to be a good compromise but you might prefer "small" (iPhoto will tell you the file size).
If you don't know what I'm talking about, first go iPhoto Preferences > General and select your email client. Then, go to the View menu and select Show in Toolbar > Email.

Reducing the size of pictures to send in an email

I wanted to export a batch of pictures all at once to send in an email. I found a way that is both quick and easy all inside iPhoto. First I choose all the pictures I want to send. I drag them to the desktop and put them in a folder. Fortunately in iPhoto this does not delete them from the main library like on a PC. I now go to import. I import the entire group of pictures back into iPhoto. This puts them in a file called, "Last Imported" I can now select that entire grop and export. I export to a web, (second choice to the right on the export window) Export to your desktop. A folder will be created. Inside that folder will be, Images, all your pictures reduced in size, and even individal web pages and even thumbnails. At this point I drag all the pictures in my recent import file to the trash, so I dont have duplicates in my library. May sound like a lot of work but it is honestly quick and easy and gives you pictures which are small and easy to attach. The last step is to open up my mail and get ready to send. I can select all the pictures to attach and since they are small they attach quickly and off they go.

Even easier is to select the photos and export them (file menu ==> export) seting the desired size to a desktop folder and e-mail from there
Or set apple Mail as your e-mail client in the iPhoto preferences and then you get a size option when you create the e-mail

I've found in Pdf's many time when you go to Optimize a PDF and look at the font list there are often up to a 1/2dozen copies of a given font, say Helvetica, then that many Helvetica Bold, or Arial or Ariel Italic
What I do ie remove from list all but one copy of each different font. often dramatically reduces the size. also something lese is Flattening images will in some cases reduce a file size. I have run into a case where it actually made a PDF Larger.

Missing in this equation were the version of Premiere Elements that you were using and the computer operating system on which it was running. But...
The deed is done. But.....Until now and after you went ahead and moved to version 12, we now learn what version of Premiere Elements you were using. We still do not know the computer operating system involved.
You just said Premiere Elements 10. Premiere Elements 10 is hit by a serious known display issue if the computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card. In this issue, the only remedy is to roll back the driver version to about May 2013. The description of the problem and how to do the roll back are described in one of the Announcements at the top of this forum. What video card/graphics card does your computer use?
On another front, Adobe will be releasing a new version of Premiere Elements any day now. No one but Adobe knows the feature set for the new version. That type of information is announced at the moment of release of the new version.
So the remedy to the problem that you presented in this thread could have been...
1. Rolling back the NVIDIA GeForce driver version to about May 2013 if possible (Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit, may not be possible)
2. Move to another version of Premiere Elements (which you did)
I offer the above for consideration so that you can review your decisions. We are pleased to learn that Premiere Elements 12/12.1 works for you.

Congratulations on your new laptop! Also, thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with transferring your iTunes Library to your new computer.
I notice that you are coming from the article “iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer,” and it sounds like you might have used the Home Sharing method outlined in that article.
With Home Sharing, you can stream content from another computer, and it sounds like that is how you have it currently set up. The last step is to import the content to your new computer. Use these steps on the new computer (while the old computer is on) to import the music to your new computer’s hard drive:
Once your new computer sees the Home Share from your old computer, click that Home Share on the left side of iTunes on your new computer.
Select the content in the Home Share that you want to transfer to your iTunes library on your new computer, or choose Edit > Select All to choose all of it. Then, click the Import button in the bottom-right corner of iTunes.
Wait for the content to finish transferring.
Additionally, if you want to transfer your playlists, you can export them from the old computer to the new computer:
Transferring playlists
If you want not only your content but also your playlists to exist on your new computer, you will want to transfer a copy of all your playlists from your old computer. To do this, choose File > Library > Export Library on your old computer. Save the XML file that is created to your desktop.
Send the playlists file to yourself as an e-mail attachment, use an external drive, or use file sharing to move the playlists file to your new computer. Once the file is on your new computer, open iTunes and choose File > Library > Import Playlist. The import process will remove any items from the playlists that you didn't share via Home Sharing.

If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key, that should make the menu bar appear.

Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage. Your backups are listed at the top, along with their sizes. Note: this will only list your most current backup. You may have your previous two backups available too but you cannot access any size information about them.

Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
To deauthorize a computer you don't have:
De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

I understand that you have music on an iPod from your old computer. You now have a new computer but do not want to have the music from the iPod erased when you sync to the new computer. If the music on your iPod was purchased from iTunes you can either transfer those purchases from the iPod to your new computer’s iTunes Library or you can download the previously purchased content directly to your iTunes Library from iTunes.
