Does anyone know the username of "The Skype Contact" as described here?

Duplicate skype contacts in the main contacts

my contact list shows duplicate skpye contacts and the duplicates keep on increasing , i have stopped the syn of skype contacts from the skype settings , but still the skype contacts duplicate after a while , i feel that restarting skype changes the settings of Sync contacts withing skype
i have manually deleted the skype contact from the main contacts, but sooner or later , they appear again !
Any advice

This is a known problem with skype, the only current solution seems to be uninstall skype.

Would like to preven Skype contacts from appearing...

When I installed Skype, all my contacts showed up in my phone's People hub. I use Skype for work and don't want them integrated with my family and friends like this, especially since most people in my Skype contacts are people that I never talk to.
I clicked on settings in the People hub, then "filter my contacts", unchecked Skype, and clicked the checkmark at the bottom to save changes. The Skype contacts are no longer in the list, but their photos are still flipping around the live tile on my home screen...the very last place I want to see them.
Does anyone know how to prevent this?

Synch Skype Contacts between devices

I have the latest version of Skype on my Windows 7 laptop and ahve loaded the Skype app on my new Android LG G3 mobile phone. Is their a way to migrrate the Skype Contacts on my laptop into the Skype Contacts on my mobile phone.
All previous discussions on this topic seem to be archived and don't specifically relate to my issue.

If you create an Acrobat.com account, you can sync from the iPad to Acrobat.com, then from Acrobat.com to the iPhone.

I have a new MacBook Pro and I followed these instructions, downlonading and installing the new Flash plugin. But when I looked in "/Library/Internet Plugins" there was no folder called "Disabled Plugins".
However, I did see two versions of Flash:
_Flash Player.plugin with old date
Flash Player.plugin with todays date
I deleted _Flash Player.plugin and this fixed the problem.

Windows 8.1 & Skype: how to call a contact from the Windows Contact List?

Hi I just added a contact on Win 8.1 Surface. When I try to call directly from the windows contact list I get a message that skype has been replaced by skype for desktop. When I remove the skype app (and keep skype for desktop) calling from the list is also not possible: I get a message that no app is associated (message-skype-com) Is there a way around it? Or is it currently not possible to call a skype contact from windows contacts?

Because I am not certain I an interpreting what you mean - although it looks quite literal - I am going to provide three separate pieces of information:
- To remove a contact's name from your Skype sign-in window, please refer to the instruction in this FAQ article - using their account name, not yours: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA11070/how-can-i-remove-my-skype-name-from-the-sign-in-screen-in-s...
- In case you mean removing a contact from the Skype Home Screen when you say, "sign in window," unfortunately, we cannot do this. Skype has some arbitrary algorithm which places recently contacted people on the Home Screen.
- In case you mean removing a contact from your contact list, here is an FAQ with the details how to do this: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA421/how-do-i-organize-my-contacts In Windows, it's as easy as highlighting by single-clicking a contact's name, right-click, and choose Remove from Contacts or Block.

I am not sure these tools will do what you want. Looks like you can manage the contact list, but that would involve removing the contacts they're not supposed to have after they've added them - rather than blocking.

I've not tried it, but one of the listed features is federation control.

Some random person contacted me and the skype upda...

So someone sent me a contact request, and I accepted it since it looked like one of my friends pals. When I accepted it, this person was trying to make something naughty happen, so I just blocked him. Soon after the Skype told me that it had to update, so I did. Do these 2 happenings have something to do with each other? Have I been hacked?

It's the Skype 5.7 BETA. D had a call goin for about an hour now, completely fixed the problem.
Was a problem to download though.
1: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SKYPE UN-INSTALLED.
2: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NO OTHER SKYPE INSTALLERS IN YOUR DOWNLOAD AREA.
Otherwise the install will not work. ;D hope i helped alot of you :3
Edit: While you don't have skype selected in a call. you'll have a little over screen popup with your call timer, hover over it and hit the X to make it go away. ;D

Problem with skype contacts added each time when I sync with my computer

I have a Business edition Black Berry Q10 model phone. The problem is I see duplicates of my skype contacts, day by day its getting worse. Im unable to find a solution for this. Need your help!!

first step I would check compatibility which is done as below:
Get original operating system CD that was used to install Windows XP on the
machine in your post. When Windows XP is inserted into CD ROM drive it
normally will ask you to conduct compatibility check for the current

Disabling the one-click call button in the Skype m...

I want to know how to disable the little "Call Phone" or "Video Call" button that pops up when you hover over a contact's status in the Skype main window. Too many times I have accidentally clicked in this spot to activate the Skype window, only to immediately (and inadvertently) call whichever contact I happened to be hovering over. This should be an option, or at the very least require a double click.
My personal preference is to double click the contact to open the Skype chat window, and then click "Call" from there. Which is obviously an option, provided I don't accidentally click in the minefield that is the Status column in the contacts list.

Hover and single click call is horrible UI design. Which explains why it was adopted by the Skype developers.

I am having a similar problem with my Skype account. I am running version 5.7 on my iPhone and the latest version (I downloaded it on Nov. 13th) my laptop. On neither one am I recieving contact request from a friend nor is he recieving any of mine. The only contact request I have received was a stranger's.

I removed all my personal information from my profile.

I've read everything about this topic. So, please, can you just do that?

How do I unblock someone on the Skype app?

I want to unblock someone on the skype app for android and I just can't figure out how. It isn't giving me many options that I can see

For some reasons Skype online manuals don't work, so here's how you can do that.
Add this person via his Skype ID/name (ass you do with new contacts), then when you find them, you'll have an option to unblock them if you long click the result.
