NO problem creating the buttons and then playing this back in Acrobat. Works great.
However, unfortunately, none of the PDF viewers for the iPad support playing movies. So playing it there won't work :(.

Is there any way to create a PDF file with six slides per page from a PowerPoint presentation using only an iPad (and apps)?
I know how to do this on a Mac (i.e. Print > 6 per page> save as PDF) but is there a way I can do this all on the iPad?

Can any one help?Start the print process and click on the Custom layout. At the bottom you can set the size of the image desired and see how many photos can be placed on the page size selected.

Well I guess you can press cmd + shift + 3 to take a picture of your whole screen or cmd + shift + 4 to take a picture of a selected area, that will create a file called "screen shot yyyy-mm-dd at hh:mm:ss.jpg" on your desktop then you just select those files and drag them into iPhoto.

Yeah, hold down the top Sleep button and the Home button simultaneously. Continue to hold until the screen goes blank and the Apple logo appears. Ignore the red slider midway through this process, just keep holding both buttons down until the Apple logo appears -- it takes about 8-10 seconds. That should do a soft reset and fix your problem.

Why does the screen on my IPad 3 go blank before it allows me to "slide to unlock"?"
I recently bought the iPad3. When I turn it on, I see the home screen and the "slide to unlock", but I can't do anything until the screen goes blank. Then I have to press the home button and the "slide to unlock" becomes accessible. Is this normal? Thanks!
I found apple service by calling number on the new ipad manual that comes in the ipad box. At the end pages of that manual there is number for support and service. You can also try to learn service number from the store you bought it. Or you live in a country which has Apple Store, give it to them to test it.
I thought it was a software issue too. I'm good on using software. I struggled a lot to find the trick. I searched net about it and saw it happens with ipads, iphones, android phones, generally touch screens. Don't accept ro reset your device advice if it is repeating. -
Why does my Keynote size get reformated on the IPad when PPT files do not.
When I import a Keynote presentation in HD format dimensions (1920 x 1080) into my IPad Keynote folder, it reformats the entire presentation to 800 x 600 which defeats the whole purpose. I don't have this issue when I import a PPT presentation in QuickOffice Pro HD. So what's up, all the boasting of being ahead of everyone only to have a critical piece of software behind the times. I wondering if I am missing something and not using the IPad Keynote properly. Please advise.

I've always used PC and I'm planning on making the transition to Mac. That's why I'm considering buying an iPad. Today I went to Best Buys and the Mac guy told me that it isn't possible to connect the iPad to an Infocus and a remote for ppt presentations at the same time. Is that true? I'm a speaker and that was the main reason I was considering buying an iPad, so I didn't have to carry my laptop. Thanks for your help!

I have a problem getting my IPad to start from shutdown. I get the Apple logo then when it is ready for me to slide my finger across the lower part of the screen to get the home page, it takes at least four attempts. When it does eventually open the home page, all works perfectly well. The screen is clean so I cannot see any reason for this annoying problem. Any suggestions will be gratefully received. Thank you. You should be able to turn it off on the iPad by using 'a tap-to-select and then double-tap to activate/type process' and 3 fingered scrolling to go into Settings > General > Accessibility and turn it 'off' (so to use the 'slide to unlock' tap the slider and then double-tap it, and to type your passcode tap a digit and then double-tap it etc), or you can do it by connecting to your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4064

After updating my iPad recently, I can no longer use it to present PPTs using a TV monitor that always previously worked. The display mentions something about using AirPlay which I am not using or trying to. Suggestions please? I am currently using iOs 7.0 on this iPad and I never had a lick of trouble until aetr this update. Anything would help. Thanks.

iPad Air 2 with celluar with ios8.1.2 will not airplay with apple tv slideshows with music. I see the slides on the TV but do not hear the music. This works on the iphone 5s with iOS 8.1.2 and with my other iPad which is on iOS7.
This problem was reported on Nov 21, 2014 and other people had reported it prior to me.
When will this be fixed by Apple - it worked in the past and does not work now.
Should i return my iPad Air 2 and get my money back?Problem seems to be resolved. Should have thought of it myself ;-) thanks so far!

I can print the PPT as a PDF with speaker notes but this makes it into an attachment when adding to Evernote which for some reason makes the text on each slide/image unsearchable and it just makes the whole file too big (which in many cases violates Evernote's 100 MB file size limit).
I have been researching how to convert the PPT to a Word document, but apparently Microsoft got rid of that feature in the version that I have (14.3.9) because it was too unweildy and just didn't always work like it was supposed to.
I don't have any experience with coding (very limited html coding), but it seems to me like this would be a very simple thing to do with Automator where I could just specify the new PPT that I received, click run, and voila! have an Evernote note with each slide followed by its speaker notes in text format so that I could add/delete/edit them as I please as I'm working through them for school.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have lost sound on my iPad in apps unless I use headphones ,does anyone know how to get sound back without them .I have used the mute volume on the bar at bottom of screen and the slider volume control there only shows when headphones are plugged in !
I also tried resetting settings all to no avail ...I looked up some advice and watched utube video advice on how to fix without success..
The volume control button on side does not work ,I got the iPad last August and wonder if it is a fault that means I must return it for replacement from where it was purchased ?The Retrospect you used way back when is no longer around. The company was sold and that company produced a new version of Retrospect - Retrospect 8.x
So, as you've been told, you would have to be running a Tiger system with an old version of Retrospect software (5.x or 6.x - you would need to know) assuming you can find the software.
As best I can remember you cannot extract files from a Retrospect backup except using the software since Retrospect did not normally make a file by file backup rather it created an archive of the files in the backup. I'm assuming that the EMC/Retrospect people have told you that old Retrospect backups are not accessible by Retrospect 8.x? -
I did not have this problem earlier today. I haven't dropped it recently or any such thing. I have, however, used two different audio jacks today. Although it makes keyboard sounds when I type in my pass code, it doesn't make the sounds otherwise. I also tested the sound on temple run and it worked. My slider key is set to mute, not to lock screen. When I try to adjust the volume, it'll say "sound effects" and the volume will be turned all the way down, but it won't let me turn it up. I got this iPad in December and unfortunately did not purchase AppleCare and I believe the warranty has passed. Any suggestions as to what's wrong?

1. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
2. Drag the slider to turn off iPad.
3. Turn iPad back on, hold down the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears
(B) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
