The sound of my iPod 5th generation is no longer working
The sound of my iPod touch 5th generation is no longer working. I did not drop it or anything like that. I just noticed that the sound was no longer working but when I plug in my headphones I can hear the sound perfectly. I called Apple today and they told me that I still have a 19 day warranty, they also scheduled an appointment to see if they can replace the iPod. My question is what are the chances of my iPod getting replaced? And if there is something wrong my iPod will they replace?
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

I recently tried downloading the IOS8 to my iPod 5th generation and when it was almost done the computer said there was an error. Right after that, the iPod shut down completely and now it's on recovery mode. I plugged it in and it said that I had to restore it and update it so I could use it again but it doesn't let me. Yes, the Lightning cables do fail sometimes. They are covered by the same one-year warranty as the iPod

My iPod 5th Generation charger just stopped working??
Both my mother and I have iPod 5's and we've only had them maybe 6 months. I've never had any problems with the charger I have which is the white regular one that came with the iPod when I bought it. Today, when I got home from school, I tried to charge my iPod, but it simply wouldn't charge with the wall adapter. I then tried to plug it in to the computer and it still wouldn't work. I then thought it was the charger, so I tried my spare charger, yet it refused to work as well. I also tried it on my mothers iPod and it would not work either. The cables are not broken, I have just used them today. Also we thought it could have been the wall adapter and we used the standard white one by Apple, yet when we plugged it into the wall it said it was not compatible. I don't understand why they would just stop working out of nowhere, when nothing has been done to render them from working.

I Am having a problem with syncing 5,000+ songs onto my IPod 5th Generation. Everytime I sync, some songs will either go away or ALL of them will come off my iPod. It sounds like some songs aren’t being synced to your iPod touch because they aren’t in a compatible format. Can you play those tracks in iTunes? Try selecting the tracks that won’t sync and creating a new version of them with iTunes as shown in the article below.

How come my ipod 5th generation locks me out when I put the right password?
I put the correct password into my iPod 5th generation and sometimes (almost all the time now) locks me out. It mostly happens to me when I need to do something off of my iPod. Please help!!!
Sounds mostly like operator error from the very sparse description.
Exactly when this happens – becomes important, else people are forced to guess what you are talking about.
Do you have more than one password & are using the wrong one?
(Could it be that you have a long password & a short ID passcode for something like 1Password?)
I’ve found there is sometimes an extra half second time-lag & I that I am typing ahead & it is not properly registering whenever this happens to me on the lock screen, or I try typing the character again, because of the lag. Do you have the tap speed set low?
If you have a cover for your iPad, those can sometimes cause a mistype.
Another might be that [one] doesn’t look to see that the correct password characters were entered instead of its key neighbor (sloppy fat-fingering). -
I bought an apple iPod 5th generation the other day and I cannot remember the unlock passcode. I have done the restore thing, but because I never set it up or synced it with iTunes, it does not recognize my device. It is disabled for one hour. There's only a few things that could be my passcode, but because it disables for an hour, it is time consuming trying to figure it out. What do I do? I do not care about having to erase everything since it's new and there's nothing on it, but it was never synced with iTunes.
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Expanding on what lllaass said to make sure it's clear, the US Apple Store will ship only with in the 50 states. They will not ship to Puerto Rico. You'll have to buy from an Apple dealer in PR. You can search for dealers here:

Whenever I go to iTunes with my iPod 5th generation 32 gb iPod Touch, running iOS 8.0.2, It tells me that the "Other" category is using up 14.59 gb of data. I have no clue why it says this and I have searched the internet for fixes and none worked. I have tried on a windows and a mac and noticed no change. I have tried restoring to a backup but that didn't help. I haven't had time to do a full restore but I will try if the problem persists.
An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB indicates corrupted files.

I just got a refurbished iPod 5th generation 32gb. This morning I went to turn it on and it didn't do anything and kept the black screen. I tryed to turn it on but it didn't do anything. The day before it had looked weird, as in I was downloading an app and it powered down, the when I tryed to turn it back on it got red and green lines on it.
