The speaker jack on my iMac no longer works.

Can anyone tell me how I can fix the speaker jack that no longer works?  I have my speakers connected through the headphone jack and that works, but would lilke to get the speaker jack working.

  • In the help! The grip jack of my iMac does not work any more for this morning! How needs to make to repair it ? Please

This morning, I wanted to listen to some music on my iMac via my earphones but the computer, did not get any more my earphones. Indeed, when I puts the sound, this one takes out outer loudspeakers and not my earphones. They are not posted in the preferences sound. I tried earphones on my mp3, they worked.
You can help me to repair my grip jack. If they pleases you
Sorry if you do not understand very well, I am French.
    Thank you!

It sounds like the headphone jack on your iMac is having problems. One solution you might try is to insert and remove the earphones' jack several times. Sometimes this clears it up.
If that doesn't work, you will probably need to have the iMac repaired. Is it under warranty or AppleCare? If so it should be covered at no charge. Contact Apple using www.apple.com/support/contact if you are in a country that supports it or call the appropriate phone number on this page. Alternatively carry the iMac in to an Apple retail store or service provider. If you are outside of warranty they can give you an estimate for the cost.
    Best of luck.

  • How to stick out a broken earplug stuck into the speaker jack

how to remove a broken earplug stuck into the speaker jack?

You need to be extremely carefull with the following instructions and understand that if you're not or you follow them, you may cause more issues than it's worth.  If you do it right and are carefull and precise, it will come out without any damage.
Turn off your system. (Shut OSX down, don't just sleep the system.)
Take a round/sharp toothpick.  Put a small dot of super glue on the very tip of it.  Don't put a huge drop on it, just enough for contact.  Put that end dead center on the headphones plug stuck in the socket.  Wait for a while for the glue to dry/cure (the longer the better).  Slowly pull streight out.  If the plug comes out some and then the toothpick glue releases, it should at least be far enough out there you can grab it with some needle-nose pliers.
Again, if you are not absolutely neat and correct when you do this you could use too much glue and then basically glue the jack and plug together.  I've done it and it works, but you have got to be precise, like brain surgery precise.  Good luck.

  • I have recently upgraded my iMac to 10.6.8 and now find that the upload photo to Facebook facility no longer works. I have reset Safari but this has not resolved the issue - any suggestions?

I have recently upgraded my iMac to 10.6.8 and now find that the upload photo to Facebook facility no longer works. I have reset Safari but this has not resolved the issue - any suggestions? I can click on the "upload photos/video" field and it takes me to Finder to select the photo - but on selecting the photo, the Finder screen disappears as normal but from then on nothing happens.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:  Remove All Website Data
    Now empty the Safari cache.
Back to the menu bar, click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Quit and relaunch Safari then try Facebook.
If that doesn't help, it may be a Safari extension preventing you from uploading content to Facebook.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums.

  • Any ideas why the video camera on my imac is not working?

Does any one have any idea why the video camera on my imac is not working? I have been using skype on my imac for some time and recently I have discovered that it wont work, could this have anything to do with the mountain lion upgrade?

    Have a look here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090?viewlocale=en_US
I think I'd start with the SMC reset.

  • The headphone jack on my iPad2 does not work

The headphone jack on my iPad2 does not work. I have tried plugging and unplugging the headset, resetting the device, and buying new headphones. None of these have worked. Any suggestions?

If you are too lazy to deal with the problem and just want to never use the headphone jack, buy one of these in line remotes instead

  • How do I disable the headphone jack on a iMac?

Hey my headphone broke of when it was in the headphone jack on the iMac. I've been unsing a USB sound bar that works great but I'd like to use the iMac speakers. I know there's a way of disabling the headphone jack as the OS controls the hardware. I'm running Mac OS X 10.9.3. Could you guys please give me any suggestions? Thanks

You need to get the busted plug out of the headphone jack. Because there is a micro switch in-side the headphone jack that tells the MIDI setup to only send the sound out to the headphone jack.
Go to > Removing a broken headphone plug - Google Search or take it to your local AASP for service.

  • IMac no longer working with projector?

    Hi folks,
I'm having a weird problem with my iMac (Intel dual core2 - White). All seems to have started going wrong after an upgrade to Leopard. The computer no longer recognises the projector. I know its the iMac cause it all works fine when I connect my Macbook. I'm using a MINI DV thing to VGA adapter.
I have done an archive and reinstall twice but still not working. When I plug the lead in the imac quickly goes to the blue screen as if its changing resolution but then just goes back to normal. System prefs doesn't recognise that anything is plugged in.
I have taken the iMac back to apple with the VGA adapter and 'sods' law it all worked fine! As soon as i get back to my school and re-connect it I get the same old problem! Is it a leopard fault or what? It all worked fine with Tiger?
I have reset permission/repaired the disk/ and zapped the PRAM. Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks
    Chris

    I'm having the same problem.
I've turned up for two presentations in the last week where my new MacBook Pro did not recognise the projector. It looks like it's going to work (i.e. the laptop display blinks and alters resolution), but nothing is sent to the projector.
At my office presentation, I managed to dig out my old PowerBook -- which worked fine (I have never, EVER had any problems with plugging displays or projectors into my PowerBook).
But when at a conference, I had to suffer the embarrassment of moving everything to a PC laptop (which buggered the transitions, etc.)
It looks like Apple has given up on the whole "it just works" thing.
Its weird -- I'm not used to not being able to rely on my Apple laptop working... It's a little stressful.
