The SSD on my MacBook Air failed and I lost all of my files and information. Will Apple be able to put the music and photos from my iPad onto my computer since the SSD failure was on them?

Because the failure of the SSD was not in my hands, will Apple help me avoid the inconvenience of restarting on a new computer by using my iPad to get music and pictures back on my computer? It's still under warranty and I feel that Apple should do this for me since I paid $1,500 for a computer that is supposed to be reliable.

Drop the sass, dude.
What I'm asking is will they be able to rip the files off my iPad and put them on my computer instead of leaving me in an unfortunate situation which wouldn't have occurred in the first place. I understand electronics fail all the time, but will they help me get back on track by taking my iPad's files and ripping them onto my Mac?

  • How can I get music (not purchased from iTunes) and photos from my iPad onto my MacBook?

I just recently had my hard drive replaced and lost all of my music and photos from it. I have all of my music and photos backed up onto my iPad and iPhone via iCloud.
I was able to download all of my purchased music from iTunes, back onto my MacBook. The problem is, how do I get the other music and photos from my iPad, back onto my MacBook?

Is there any possible way to backup music that I did not purchase from iTunes on to iCloud?
    No.
... if I happened to break my iPad, or if something happened to my Laptop.
If you like your music library, back up your laptop.
If you lose or break your iPad, you can sync your iTunes music library to a brand new one. You will lose nothing.
If you lose your laptop, or it crashes, or becomes virus-infested, you can restore your iTunes music library from your backup. You will lose nothing. Without a backup though, your music resides only on the iPad, and extracting it will require the assistance of third party (paid) utilities. Worse, there is no guarantee they will continue to function after some future iOS upgrade, since the iPad is not designed to work that way.
There are dozens of questions every day from people who lost their iTunes music when their laptop crashed. Your laptop will crash - it's only a question of when.

This is the iTunes for Windows forum...
    You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new windows installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup! (Windows tip). For a Mac use Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner.

It seems I must click "Edit," and then "Crop," and then expand the box to the fullest size. I don't have enough time to undo this auto-crop with all 250 photos. Any suggestions?

    @SuperMan
I noticed this as well when navigating through the photo gallery on my iPhone.
If you (and he) are asking about iPhone operation then you are in the wrong place - this is the iPhoto for Mac forum - there are forums for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch as well as iPhoto for IOS -
I do not see any cropping in iPhoto on the Mac for either camera or iPhone photos (I use PhotoStream with auto import to get my iPhone photos to iPhoto on my Mac) - and given the way iPhoto works it is really not possible to have auto-cropping - the only thing that I see even close to that is that when you select edit ==> drop the default crop is slightly smaller than the photo - but unless you accept that nothing is changed and the photo is exactly as imported

My daughter has used my computer to log into iTunes and download music but now it won't let me download recently purchased music from my iPad onto my computer. I want to transfer the recently purchased songs onto my iPod so how can I do this now? iTunes now says that I have to wait another 55 days! There must be a way to do this since I have paid for them.

In iTunes sign out of your daughters Apple ID and sign in with your own.

  • Transfering calendar and photos from on iPad to another iPad

Need to transfer calendar and photos from one iPad to another iPad.  I backed up the original iPad 2 to my PC using my iTunes account but when I restored the backup from my PC onto the new iPad 2, the calendar and photos where not transferred.

If you haven't already set up iCloud on the iPads and turn it on to sync Calendars.
Copy your photos from one iPad to the computer and sync them to the other iPad.

How do I download music and photos from existing iPad to new iphone

Perform a backup to iTunes from the old device and then a restore to the new device, use ITunes to do this.  BTW, always sync photos to a computer to store them safely (use iPhoto on a mac or to a designated folder on a PC).  Never trust an iOS device to keep photos without having them synced to a computer.

  • My old computer is broken, so how do i get my music and photos from my iPod onto my new computer

my old computer is broken, so how do i get my music and photos from my iPod onto iTunes on my new computer. It says it can only be synced to 1. but my old 1 is broken.

See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

Keep in mind that the recovered photos will not be in their full resolution, but instead will be the scaled down versions that were optimized in size and resolution to fit your iPod's smaller LCD screen.

I just bought a new iPhone5 after my other putting my other phone the the washing machine!  How do I get my apps and pictures from my ipad to my iphone.  I was not able to save anything from my other ohone.

Using the same apple ID with both devices opens them up to share apps and data. There are some limits, for example some iPad apps are iPad only, they literally won't work on the iPhone due to the phone's limited resolution.

Can I reinstall music and photos from my ipad

    Hi Stephen,
You'd need to use a 3rd party program to remove the content off your iPad, iTunes is only designed to sync purchased content off the iPad (content that was purchased on the iPad). There are several 3rd party offerings, a popular one is called Senuti.

  • Why am I unable to email my notes and photos from my iPad?

I want to email a note from the Notepad app and email photos but they are not going through to the receiver.  The app makes the sound indicating the note or photo was sent but nothing is happening.

I finally took my iPad in to my local Mac store, and at first they were just as perplexed by the problem as I was.
Then one of the very helpful tech ladies in the store figured out that I only needed to reset the iPad when the Notes app was open, and that fixed the problem.  Have you tried doing that?

  • Is it possible to transfer my music and photos from my Ipad to my Mac?

My Mac has recently been stolen and all my music and my photos are in my Ipad but as you know I cannot sinc my Ipad with my new Mac. Is there any way I can save all those files and transfer them to my new computer? Do iCloud or iTunes Match can help my?

    Jorge

You'll be able to save your photos, because there is no DRM issues with it.  As for your music, you're history. You cannot authorize iTunes Match from an iOS device, only from a Mac through iTunes.  However, whatever music you purchased from iTunes (going back many years, I found out) can be re-downloaded.  Anything you ripped is gone.
If I might stick my nose into your business, I would strongly suggest you set up Time Machine with your new Mac, and have a back up of everything, including your media.  You don't want to lose those photos.
