The system says windows 7 not genuine
I bought a S12 notebook less than 2 weeks ago. It works fine but there is one issue that quite bothers me. Sometimes (but not all the time) when I open a photo using windows photo viewer, an error window will show up saying that the copy of windows 7 is not genuine. Then if I follow the link that window provides for solution, it will ask me to insert the windows 7 installation CD which I don't have (I cannot find that at least, and S12 notebook does not have a cd/dvd-rom driver anyway). If I ignore the problem, the words 'this copy of windows 7 is not genuine ...' will appear at the bottom of my Desktop.
I try to contact Lenovo last night but the gentleman receiving the call just gave me another phone number and asked me to call 9am-7pm weekdays. I tried to call from 9 to 9:15 this morning but no one answered the phone.
Does anyone know how to solve the problem? Thanks and Happy new year to all.

I didnt ask, but he did ask me whether i had an external cd/dvd drive ... and i said i didn't. I guess I would have to send my notebook to them to reinstall win 7 if he asked. But one key recovery solves the problem anyway.

Interesting... I guess if you did have an external cd/dvd drive, then they'd have offered to send you a set of factory recovery disks...
Maybe even an actual Win7 Home Premium OA install disk...

on February 8, 2013 I bought my Toshiba L855 laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium preinstalled.
For about 10 days I get a pop-up that says Windows is not genuine.
Windows is activated.
I checked the license key with the software *"Produkey"* and is different from the license key that comes in Microsoft sticker.
How is it possible?There are fuller explanations out there but this gives an overview:
If Windows is pre-installed on a computer by an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), the operating system is automatically activated without the need for interaction from the user.
(10) In this case, the copy of Windows installed does not use the product key listed on the certificate of authenticity, but rather a master product key issued to OEMs called a System Locked Pre-installation (SLP) key.
On each boot, Windows confirms the presence of specific information stored in the BIOS by the manufacturer, ensuring the activation only remains valid on that computer, even if the product key is used on another machine.

At windows start up it tells me that this copy of window is not genuine and as get into window a message pops up telling that fine the solution qlick here and this tells me is firefox and the steps I need to take. But nothing works even taking the cumputer to an earlier date through system recovery.
You need to have the original serial number from the first time. If you purchased it thru a school program/discount then you should check with the school to see if they still have some way of assisting you.

That's an unfamiliar one, steve.
Let's see what happens if we try to start the service manually.
In your Start menu, right-click Computer and select "Manage".
Expand "Services & Applications"
Open "Services". (Perhaps maximise the Window to better see what's going on.)
Select the Bonjour Service and click "Start".
Do you get an error message then? If so, what does that one say? -

Make sure that your Apple ID is your email address and you do not have any other or old IDs associated with you. Go to www.appleid.apple.com and confirm this info. Make sure that the email address you are trying to sign up with is your primary one.

Since installing the latest version of iTunes all my music files cannot be edited, and I cannot import new music files into iTunes. The messages says I do not have enough access privileges even though I am the administrator of the system. If anyone can help me sort this out I would be really grateful. I have checked the read and write privileges for all the iTunes folders and it all seems in order so I can't understand it.
In general, I am getting really frustrated with Apple. They seem to be getting ever more controlling in their approach to their consumers. I need to edit music file information as I am a dj. And why can't I import music, unless I buy it from iTunes? Most of all, why can't I use the devices I paid a lot of money for in the way I want to use them, and not be forced to coerced to use apple's fee paying services (iCloud, iTunes).
I have used apple computers since the early 1990's, but in the last year I have gotten rid of my iPhone and my iPad and replaced them with Android devices. Much better and much less control. Perhaps it is time to switch from Apple altogether.Hi

My computor shut down and I called the lenovo help centre.I was then told that as my computor was not responding that I would have to return it to its factory default settings. You probably downloaded the Lightroom Creative Cloud version. Your Perpetual License key will not work.
Uninstall the existing version of Lightroom, this process will not affect your Catalog, Preferences or personal files.
Then download the correct version from the link below, install and enter the license. Every thing should be just fine. (Also by displaying your License Key for all to see anyone can use it to have a free copy of the program)

My Apple TV stopped preparing update about 1/4 of the way into the update. The system says do not unplug your Apple TV while updating. I have waited 24 hours... No change. What do I do?
You can't do much else besides pull the plug. If it causes further problems you should be able to restore as below:
Get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
On the other hand you may be able to simply start the update again. If however the update continues to fail, you should try the restore routine above. -

Normally update should not reactivate windows.If you replaced some important hardware like the motherboard ,hard drive and so on, it will result in reactivating .Sometimes, the malicious program will result in reactivating.
