The Third Time's the Charm. Or is it?

Upon upgrading my internet service to cable from dial-up, I purchased a Linksys wireless router so that my parents computer (two floors up from the router) could use the high speed internet as well, and split the bill with me. On several occasions, my parents internet was not working, and I chalked it up to the distance between their computer and the router that was causing the problem. I called the cable company, and they said to reset the router by unplugging it for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in. This worked, but every once in a while I had to 'reset' the router. It was annoying, but that's about it. I now live in an apartment, and I purchased the same router (brand new) and placed it directly next to my computer, and I have a LAN cable running to my roommate's computer, and my computer on wireless. This router ALSO constantly disconnects both the wireless and wired connections. Whether it's once a month, or ten times a day, it randomly stops working, and, keeping in mind that I know what I'm doing when it comes to hardware/software, the only way to fix the problem is by 'resetting' the router in the above mentioned way. Figuring it was the luck of the draw, I bought yet another router of the same model number (also brand new), and I'm STLL having the same problem. What on earth am I doing wrong? Am I just unlucky, or is this router really just a piece of junk? Everyone who knows anything about networking hardware recommends a Linksys router hands down over any other, but I'm starting to wonder why. If anyone else is having, or has had, this problem, or even better can offer a solution, please, by all means let me know! Thanks.
PS: I think the router knows I'm complaining. It disconnected me while I was typing this post. ;-)
Let's make it happen.

Try updating firmware to latest version. After update hard reset router for 30 seconds. Clone router's MAC address with that of your computer, and reduce MTU to 1350.

After recent update, all but 7 songs disappeared from my iPhone 5 while I was driving. This is the third time! I only sync from cloud, not the computer. I had over 600 songs and its a pain to keep reloading!

IPhone 5 keeps dropping my songs, this after an update. I know it's a software issue. I have shut down and re-started, I have made sure there's available space, etc. this is the third time in the last 2 weeks. Help!

First of all, you should always save you photos on computer like any other digital camera.
Backup on iCloud or iTunes only backup your Camera Roll. The other photos should be already on the computer.
Note: Photos are not saved in iTunes, it's only a conduit between your iPhone and your photo managing software on computer.

IPod Mini, the third time around...

I've had quite a few problems with the Mini.
The Apple Store has replaced my Mini 3 times, and I wish "the third try's a charm" could apply in this case. The other two were replaced due to faulty batteries (they would not last over 2 hours) and then a faulty click-wheel.
For my third,
1.) I plugged in my Mini to my USB port and got the folder with the exclamation point.
2.) I scavanged the Support site for advice, trying the 5Rs.
3.) My iPod Mini is now locked on the Apple logo. I can't get it to go to Disk Mode. Pressing Menu+Select makes the logo appear again, but nothing happens after that.
4.) Downloaded the iPod Updater just for kicks; it doesn't recognize it. My Computer does not recognize it either.
I'm very tired of experiencing all these problems with the Mini. If there's no technical advice you can give me, could you at least tell me how to convince the Apple Store to give me a nice Nano instead :P ?

I had asked them to replace the laptop as this has been happening repeatedly and seems to be something with the laptop

This is the third time this has happened. And now they refuse to replace the battery or the laptop also.
What is the solution?

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store and press the problem. Elevate to store manager if necessary. Maybe the charging circuits are defective resulting in overcharging which is causing the battery problem.

It is unbelievable that such an expensive software does not provide a proper lay out wit a high screen resolution!

Almost perfect the third time around; space bar...

Here's my short MacBook Pro story.
Got one, whine, sent back. They replaced it, got another one with a whine. This time they said they'd only repair it. I sent it for repair and they couldn't repair it so they replaced it. Third MacBook I get doesn't whine but it has this annoying issue.
On the right side of the space bar (the side I use most often, more like always) someone is wrong. It makes a 'squeek' sound when I press on it while typing and it doesn't feel firm when I press on it at all. Sounds like I need a new keyboard right? Problem is, this would be the third time I would be going without a computer in the last two months and every time I do this, I really lose productivity.
So, do I have any options? I really would like to solve this another way (physically myself, unlikely or could the keyboard be replaced at an Apple Store?)

i am sorry you have had so many problems...
i have hd repairs at apple where they lost my hardware for months...
they eventually made it right...
call support, complain loud enough to get a dispatcher and ask for freeies...
they say they will not.. but they will
regarding your keyboard... at least a straight swap is only a couple days.. a dispatcher will send you an airbill when they see the MBP scanned into FedEx's shipping system.. as long as it is on its way they can release a replacement..
since MBP's are shipping pretty quick these days you should only be down a couple days.... there is no reason for you to accept anything less
if they tell you otherwise, threaten to call the local news and tell them you want to return the unit if they will not accomadate you.. they will overnight the replacement and probably through some free RAM or an upgrade int he mix....
regarding the whine, I see this from time to whine. (sorry) ... basically, here is what I note.. most do whine lightly under low load... some louder than others.... the whine sometime disappears.... I would (if you get another that has a whine) relax and run quiet macbookpro or open photobooth for a month or two... then address the issue.. here is why.... wen you run XP.... MBPs are silent..... did you get that.. the software can correct the whine.. it is a power managment issue... apple is balming hardware.... but it is a hardware issue.. they WILL get it ironed out and then some day in the near future you will get a software update and whamo.... no whine
i would not send mine in if it whined and I would advise anyone that has a whiner to install XP.. see if it whines.... it won't.. call apple and tell the tech when you report the issue... if you send a report to apple using the software in your computer..... mention that XP's power managment does a better job on their hardware than they do....
lastly, i want to point out that intel has noted the noise issue when the processor is idle..and has a driver for the core duo that is newer than bootcamps... additionally, XPSP2 has a specific update for the core duo's power regulation you can download from MS.... they have more experience working on this hardware.. it makes sense they would have it figureed out a bit...
ok... really lastly, why am I the only one I ever hear that is completely convinced it is a software issue? I mean.. has ANYONE ever had a MBP that whined (not the screen noise reported) when running XP????

No video, high fan noise on startup, for the THIRD TIME

For the third time in slightly less than three years, I have encountered the same crippling problem with my iBook G4 (1 GHz, June 2004 vintage). In essence, the screen will abruptly go black while in use (not screensaver) and no amount of keyboard/mouse activity will reactivate the display. If I power off by holding down the power button then restart, the screen stays black and the fans come on full speed.
Despite a bit of confusion on the details, this sounds like the problem described on the webpages below. In essence the Danish government has issued a finding that there is a design flaw which allows excessive logic board flexing, which in turn causes logic board failure.
This is, as I said above, the third time I have encountered this failure in less than three years. Worse, they seem to be coming closer together. The first was after about 1.5 years, the second 9 months later, and now seven months after the second repair. Since I didn't get Apple Care, paying for a third repair out of pocket would bring my repair bill up to the cost of a new iBook.
I do not abuse my iBook, and since the second repair I have been very careful with my iBook. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting Apple to acknowlege the problem or who I can appeal to? Apple's website doesn't seem to offer any e-mail tech support options and I'd rather not sit on hold for an age (again) if it can be avoided. While I don't want to abandon my iBook or Apple, I may be forced to if I can't rely on the hardware.

Well it doesn't sound like the Danish power problem since it will start up.
The ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 4x AGP graphics processor chips in these iBooks have been problematic. Usually it's the reball problem and it can be reballed for ~ $78. I've done 4 this year and they work just great. A cheap way to get nice laptops. If they respond to the "shim fix" then reballing will work.
A more troubling problem is with the 9200 chip itself. My reballer says that this chip is in itself the cause of some of these problems. He knows it since it's also used in IBMs, Compaqs and many other laptops and he's seen a lot of failures. My only failed reball was a 9200. I have a line on a replacement board or finding the chip in a broken PC.

I have tried to download Mt. Lion and twice it has failed. The third time the icon appeared and waiting to download, but it never occurred. I have purchased the upgrade but have yet to successfully download it. What is happening?

I recently purchased the Mt. Lion upgrade and have tried to download the system software but each time, there was a problem. The first was an error message 404, and I had to retry downloading. The second time it downloaded to the halfway point and then stopped. The third time I continued to wait for the downloading process to begin and it never did.

My iPod won't turn OFF, this is the third time its happened.

For the third time, my iPod won't shut off. The last time this happened, I loaded the latest firmware. It has been ok for about three months.
Now it won't shut off again. It appears to be a software issue.

yeah same with me, and its 2 days old too. i didn't get a chance to try resetting it, though, it just worked after a while.
