The "This Frame" context menu is missing

There are two users in question, both running Firefox 36.0.1 on Windows 7. When one user right clicks on a frame in a website, they have a "This Frame" context menu option, which cascades out to provide various actions you can take (Print This Frame, etc). The other user does not have that option. To the best of my knowledge, both users are running similar installs: the default collection of plug-ins that are enabled in our enterprise environment, they have not tweaked any settings in about:config, etc. Why would the "This Frame" context menu not be available for one of them? Is there any way to force it be enabled?

For what it's worth, when I use OWA, the message body in the reading pane is in an iframe and does have the This Frame menu.
Do you allow users to install extensions? To rule out the influence of extensions on the problem Firefox, you could have the user test in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
He/she can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Refresh).
Any difference?

  • The item Hierarchical Context Menu does not support pre-calculation

    Hello,
    Trying to download pre-calculated web templates via RepAgent, using the Hierarchical Context Menu feature within the template (populated via control query with Hierarchy) the system returned the following message upon file download:
    "The item Hierarchical Context Menu does not support pre-calculation"
    As a result the Hierarchical Context Menu is not displayed on the downloaded html-files. Navigation not possible.
    Could not find any constraints documented in the online help, at this point.
    Question: is there something missing on our setup or is this really out of scope for precalculation with navigation?
    Any other experiences on that or shall we open OSS-message?
    Best regards,
    Markus

    Hi,
    we have the same problem. Does anybody have any hint or workaround? Is there a solution for this in 3.5 or any upcoming version.
    Any input is appreciated.

  • Is there any way to prevent the right click context menu from combining Stop/Reload?

    Is there any way (about:config tweak, or something) to prevent the right click context menu from combining Stop/Reload?
    Screenshot of what I'm talking about: http://picsend.net/images/873089StupidReloadSto.png

    I did try the add-on ''Menu Editor'' https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/menu-editor/ but even when I separate the navigation reload and stop icons and explicitly have both stop and reload set to be visible on the right click context menu I only get the one option showing.
    Whilst there may be some way of changing this I do not know how to and I do not really see any use case for making such a change. Only one option of the choice: stop or reload, is available at any instance in time, but that is the option you are able to use, the other option is not active and so is not displayed.

  • Is it possible to add a button to the right-click context menu for a user in Outlook 2010 using VBA?

    I've tried many things and read up quite a bit but I cannot figure this out.
    I cannot create an add-in so I have to use VBA.
    I want to add a a button to the right-click context menu when I right-click on a user. Is this possible?

    Hello,
    Yes, it is possible to customize the context menu in Outlook. See
    Customizing Context Menus in Office 2010 for more information.
    But VBA doesn't allow to customize the Fluent UI in Outlook, you need to develop an add-in instead.

  • Is there any way to edit the standard Firefox context menu for displayed Web pages?

    Is there any way to edit the standard Firefox context menu for displayed Web pages? I frequently want to save a picture appearing on a page. Sometimes I "slip" and hit "Send Image" when I want "Save Image As", and have to sit and wait for a default send-mail page to come up, then close it, fiddling with its "are you sure" dialogs. This is a painful way to handle a slip-up. I basically NEVER want to e-mail an element directly from a page. Is there any way I can just delete "Send Image" from the context menu?

    You can remove entries in the context menu with code in the userChrome.css file

    its cosmetic issue mostly, not harmful.

    Hmmm, that shouldn't happen. It's difficult to change the text colors in the interface without installing a theme or an add-on that lets you tweak the menus.
    Can you try switching between the default theme and your current theme?

  • How do I fix the right-click context menu; it has blank entries and shows no selectable options?

    recently I have noticed that my right-click context menu looks like it has no entries. It shows up on a right-click, but the whole menu is blank. On further investigation there are scroll buttons on the top and bottom of the menu and if I hover over the up buttom eventually the normal context commands scroll down from above. I noticed this first a few days ago, shortly after the download of 3.6.13. Today I also noticed that some of my menu bars were showing a similar issue with blank entries in the menus. In one case the menu also didn't register where the mouse was, highlighting a command several steps further up.
    Is this something to do with the new Mozilla or something else? I only run a couple of addons, Ad Block Plus and Tab Mix Plus. Can try to capture a screen shot of the issue, but difficult since the menu dissapears when I try to do a screen grab!
    All help is much appreciated.

    Hi, thanks for the quick response!
    While trying to find info on how to fix this I looked up some context menu addons for FF and tried one. It didn't work so I uninstalled it and after that everything was back to normal. Odd, but there you have it. I still don't know what went wrong in the first place but for the moment it appears to have cleared up.
    Next time though I will try loading into Safe Mode if I find any issues (I forgot there was one!).
    Thanks for getting back to me again.

  • The Right-click context menu on bookmarks on my mac is not working

    Hi. After recently upgrading to FF 3.6.12 on my Macbook Pro running OSX 10.6.4, I can no longer right-click on my individual bookmark names, and get the context menu to come up. It will simply not appear in some areas, and in other areas it works wrong, and in one area, it works correctly. For example:
    1. If I choose Bookmarks from the top menu, and right-click on a bookmark name, the context menu does not come up and FF simply opens that webpage the same as if I had left-clicked on it.
    2. If I right-click on a Bookmark from the toolbar menu on the far right, by clicking on >>, in this list, if I right-click, nothing at all happens. The context menu does not come up and it also does not go to the webpage as it shouldn't.
    3. Now, if I right-click on a bookmark name on the Bookmarks Toolbar running horizontal right above the Tabs, these bookmarks do behave properly. The normal context menu comes up.
    So as you can see, I'm getting 3 different behaviors when right-clicking on bookmark names in 3 different areas. Help....
    Thanks...

    I have my bookmarks in lots of folders on the bookmarks toolbar, if i want to right click on any bookmark in a folder to get the context menu i cannot get the context menu to appear. I thought it was me but I think this is the same issue described above. I would really like to have this working.

  • How can I remove the scroll buttons on the firefox 4 context menu?

    My display is set to 1600x1200 and the apparently fixed size for context menus with scroll arrows at the top and bottom make using firefox 4 a bit inconvenient. Is there any way to eliminate these scroll buttons and revert to the firefox 3 style of context menu?

    After quitting firefox and starting it again the stupid scroll arrows are back in the context menu. I'm beginning to hate firefox 4.

  • How do I change the order of context menu items in Private Windows?

    In the context menu that appears when I right-click on a link, I prefer to have "Open Link in New Window" at the top of the menu instead of "Open Link in New Tab". I have added code to userChrome.css to make that switch:
    #context-openlink {
    -moz-box-ordinal-group: 1 !important;
    #contentAreaContextMenu > * {
    -moz-box-ordinal-group: 2;
    Firefox version 20 added Private Browsing Windows. The above code still works for the non-Private windows, but doesn't affect the Private Windows, so in those I still have "Open Link in New Tab" at the top of the context menu, and "Open Link in New Private Window" as the second item. Is there a way to change the order of these menu items in Private Windows?

    Clarification: In the code snippets above, the "1."s are supposed to be pound-signs; they got auto-reformatted incorrectly.

  • The trash, inbox, compose menu is missing

    The left side menu with the trash and inbox folders and the compose menu option are missing. This only happens on my computer, an ACER aspire. How can I change the settings to get it back?

    Check the Zoom settings on your browser, and if you're using a very high DPI setting on your computer (to make fonts bigger), see if this is causing a problem. High DPI settings without the screen resolution to make up for the change, or zoom settings can cause elements like this to disappear from view.
    Also, consider any browser extensions and security programs you have installed. Software which features Adblocking and Script blocking features can break/remove elements like this too.
    Also, it doesn't hurt to clear your browser cache.

  • What Acrobat SDK Technology I need to build a plugin that creates a new item to the Right-Click context menu?

    I want to develop a plugin for Adobe Reader that will be invoked through a new item in the Right-Click menu.
    What is the right SDK Technology to build this new item? Javascript, Interapplication Communication or a C/C++ plugin?
    I would feel more comfortable with JS or C#, but I don't know if I must use the C++ API to be able to build such level of integration.
    Thank you very much.

    Plugins are written in C/C++ and especially something such as adding to the UI.
    To add this to Acrobat, no license or fee is required - you can do it today with just the SDK and Acrobat.
    However, to build a plugin for Reader, you will need to obtain a license from Adobe.  Details are in the SDK under "Reader Integration Key License Agreement" (RIKLA).

  • How can I edit the right-click context menu?

    I seem to have two entries for every Adobe product when I right-click a file and choose "Open With..." Is there a way to either clean it out automatically, or fix this myself?
    ...Mike

    Could be caused by several things I believe.
    You have already checked you have only one application folder with one Adobe
    app for each in it on your Disk?
    Also look in the preferences in Bridge under file type associations for the
    given extensions, do they also show double applications?
    Try first to refresh preferences with restart Bridge holding down option
    key, it is the first aid for Bridge and curing many problems.
    Also use Disk Utility to check and repair permissions for your OS.

  • How to remove "Open with... Adobe Acrobat" from the right click context menu

    We want to deploy Adobe Acrobat on our Citrix envoriment. At this moment we have Adobe Reader for all users installed. Adobe Acrobat should be only availible to a selection of users. I've tried to remove everything with the custimaztion tool but one thing which I'm not able to is to remove the option when you right click a PDF document that you can choose to open with and then Adobe Acrobat XI. I want to disable this because else users who don't have the permission to run Adobe Acrobat are still able to run it.

    Sorry but you're not right, why are there then whtiepapers how to install it on Citrix?
