The thumbnail images have disappeared from one of my sequences
I have 3 sequences open in the timeline and the thumbnail images have disappeared from the clips in one of them. It's very frustrating to work without them, how do I get them back?
Thanks so much! That actually wasn't it though... The thumbnail display was already set to 'name plus thumbnail' but 'track size' was set to 'custom'. Once I changed 'track size' to 'small' (which is what my other sequences which were displaying thumbnails were set to) the thumbnails reappeared. Yipee!!!!

When the device is set to Automatic for time, it is pulling the time from the cell towers. Contact the carrier to ensure they are not experiencing issues.
Also, check the time on your computer that the device syncs with, make sure that the time (and time zone) on the computer are accurate. -
My images have disappeared in iPhoto
10.9.5/imac/2.7 GHz/8GB memory
Over 3/4 of my images have disappeared from iPhoto. Have been through all the usual iPhoto repair methods but absolutely nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. -
Images I move from one folder into another are disappearing, at first it was occurring immediately and only if I did not copy and paste the images. Today however I found out that images I had been using for days just up and vanished from their new location. A few of these images had copies in another folder that remained and the ones I couldn't find may or may not have ever had copies. I had backed up my system with time machine recently as well, so I went into the backup to retreive the lost images. When I searched and found the backup copies I got the error "the file alias cannot be opened because the original cannot be located". The crazy thing is that the images that remained on my computer did not give me the same error and opened like they should.
In short images that I am creating, saving, and using are disapearing so epically that even time machine versions are affected when retrieval is attempted. Any suggestions as to what I could be doing wrong without realizing it? Or perhaps other people have had similar bugs that are software related and have a solution?Hi Kevin,
I understand what you tried to do but it doesn't work that way. Swapping drive names will just mess things up.
You should be able to reconnect the files though: in the Locate Referenced Files dialog make sure you click the Show Reconnect Options button — this will give you access to all the connected drives. Locate one of the files and hit Reconnect All. Should do the trick.

Some contacts have disappeared from my phone. Not all just random ones. But once again, I do not want to lose my other texts, app progress, and photos. I could sync the photos but i would still lose the app progress and texts. I would only restore if it was the only option left, but the other space, as already stated, isnt the main concern. The main concern is those 'deleted' texts. If they go, then a good size chunk of the other space goes. I know you CAN delete texts for good. It worked fine before. All i want to know is why its not working for me now, and how to fix it.
I also know that when you delete texts on your iphone, they get marked for deletion, however they stay on your device (thats why they show up when you search for them.) then when you sync your device with itunes, the texts marked for deletion should disappear. When i synced they didnt disappear. Thats what i need an explanation/solution for. Why the texts marked for deletion didnt get fully deleted after the sync. -
Aperture Star/reject ratings have disappeared from pictures and thumbnails.
After several trouble-free months my star ratings and/or reject crosses have disappeared from the pictures and thumbnails, however the stars can still be seen in the appropriate metadata display. I can still add or delete stars from the metadata. Have I accidentally blanked the display?

All my mail have disappeared from my mac and my iOS devices. Seemingly from the iCloud server as well. How can I recover them?
Well, you can't since the emails are stored on icloud's mail server. Try this test, using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and check the mail page. If they are gone, then they are really gone.
Now, I thought I could go into a Time Machine backup and view old emails from a day ago. Unfortunately, Time Machine doesn't seem to save icloud based email, since regardless of the past date I go to, only the current emails show up, not older ones. My conclusion is that I wouldn 't be able to recover them from a TM backup.
What had you been doing on the mac or device that causes emails to be deleted? (I hope you don't have a family member or friend using the same icloud account - they may have deleted all emails by mistake.) -
I have recently changed my Apple ID (wish I didn't as it's causing nothing else but issues so far) and my iMessages have disappeared from my iPad. I have signed out / signed in with the new account but it doesn't work. How do I get to see the same messages on my iPad again as the ones on my iPhone?

I think you accidentally hit CMD+Option+8, do it again, or open System Preferencess>Universal Access>Seeing & turn Zoom OFF. -
how do I copy the same app folder layout from one device to another. We have several apple devices.
It's a challenge when syncing a device for the first time to go through all the apps and apply them back to the same folders as on your other iphone.
I've seen suggestions of taking pictures of the correct layout, then manually applying it to the new device. Big time waister.
What's the work around?
Thank youI'm afraid there is no short workaround. One thing that you could do if you were REALLY desperate is reset your device to factory settings and then restore it from your other device's backup, but that is rather risky and you probably don't want to take your chances just for folder layouts. I would just do it manually.

WIN7: Mistakenly un-installed Adobe Application Manager and now all Adobe apps (CS3, CS5 and Elements 6) have disappeared from the programs list in the start up menu.
CS5 Bridge is still there so I can get into the photo editor to de-activate it and re-install.
However, all of CS3 has disappeared so I cannot get into it to de-activate.
Question 1: Will downloading and re-installing Adobe Application manager get CS3 automatically back?
Question 2: If not, what to do to get CS3 back things working properly again? Remember, I can't de-activate it.

I was moving bookmarks in safari and 2 complete folders have emptied their contents. The folders are still there. I don't have a working time machine and icloud has caused the relevant folders to disappear from all my machines, iPhone, iPad and iMac as well as thge MacBook Air I was working on. HELP!!!

So, you moved some Bookmarks and now 2 folders are completely empty.
I think that they dropped in a other folder during dragging the Bookmarks.
Did you check ALL of you Bookmark folder if they are there?
If you didn't delete the they have to be still there.

The missing controls are the sliders for exposure, contrast, clarity, etc. I must have inadvertantly clicked something that made them disappear but nothing I've tried brings them back. I've never had this experience in the years I've been using Lightroom (since version 1.1).
Right-click on any other item Tone Curve for ex., and check on "Basic" if that's what you are missing.
If you miss the complete Develop module right-click any other item Library for ex and put a check on Develop -
