The Title Bar locks while surfing the web.

The Title Bar on my Firefox has started to lock during surfing. This has happened on both my home and work laptops. I cannot work any Title Bar controls nor can I right click on the Taskbar button to resize the window but can still work Menu Bar controls and continue surfing. Sometimes the Title Bar returns to normal. Many times it does not. Occasionally it locks Firefox and I have to close via the Task Manager.

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? <br />

  • After downloading firefox4, all the images appear blurred while surfing the internet

    ALL THE YAHOO IMAGES OR PHOTOS ON THE NET ARE NOT CLEAR AND APPEAR TOTALLY BLURRED. THE FACES ARE NOT RECOGNISABLE

    those symptoms (arriving together like that) usually indicate a broken QuickTime. (itunes needs a fully functional QT in order to work properly.)
    the first thing we'll try is a careful standalone QT 7.1 reinstall.
    download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.
    Quicktime 7.1 Standalone Installer
    if that install goes through okay, does your itunes behave properly again?
    (if you get an error message on the QT standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.)

  • "Backup file" appears in the title bar.

    Hi there,
    I've been writing a VI which has recently crashed but I could recover it using the backup file. However "Backup file" now appears in the title bar as shown in the picture I attached with this post and I would like to get rid of the "Backup file" in the title bar . I've tried the "save as" option using a different name but "Backup file" is always present.
    Could someone help me on that one?
    Thanks a lot

  • The Title Bar and its controls are superimosed on the navigation toolbar

    the Question is it. the overlap prevents me from easily accessing controls on the navigation bar. I don't understand this. I asked this earlier and got dumped because i changed all the files as requested and the problem hasn't gone away. I downloaded and installed Firefox 17 and it is still there! I also upgraded my operating system to mac OS 6.8 with no help at all. I can get you a copy of the start up reading from the console if you want. I've included a screen shot below..... wait.
    I just reverted to the default persona from a musical one - the problem disappeared. Why do I get this when I add personas? Let me try others.... That is the focus of the problem! The personas for some reason exclude some of the toolbars and "shove" the title bar down onto and superimpose it upon the navigation bar. That may not make sense, but that is what it looks like from this end. Curious, though, the drop down options are still in a strange configuration, a different typeface than they were before, which happened when the personas superimposed the title bar on the navigation toolbar. So, obviously I can't use the personas. Is there a way around this, please? there is obviously a conflict somewhere, bit I can't figure it as this is a new development ever since I tried to install a new glims version for Safari and this problem appeared after that. De-installing glims did not eliminate the problem so it obviously changed something in the Firefox configuration files. The guy at glims was mystified, too. Any suggestions?
    thanks.

    Whenever I even mouse over the pesonas in the dropdown tools menu, the title bar at top and the buttons thereupon drop down and superimpose onto the navigation bar just below it. I also have an arial or helvetica font on the right click drop downs where it was gill sans before. Just changing with the mouse-over causes this. And it still happens now that I've upgraded to MAC OS 10.8. New version 17, new MAC OS and this still happens and is not a hardware acceleration issue. I'm stumped.
    What can we do? Do you want me to copy off the Firefox initiation lines from the console log?

  • TS3274 I have iPad 1 and while surfing the web, checking facebook the scene blacks out then goes to the home screen. Why?

    While surfing the web, checking Facebook my screen goes black and the home screen comes up. What is the problem?

    The apps are crashing for some reason - maybe an app conflict, a corrupt setting, low memory ....
    try a few basic things and see if they help.
    Quit all apps completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Keep swiping in the task bar to get to all of the apps. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Or try this .... Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    This may help as well. Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Try again.

  • How can I watch a movie while surfing the web?

    I've been trying to figure out if there is any way to anchor the iTunes player so I can watch a movie while surfing the web. I've had no luck, Please tell me there is a way! =)

    There are two ways I do this.
    1. I set the playback in preferences to play the video in a seperate wind. Then I size the browser window so I can see both at the same time.
    2. My prefered method is to play the movie on my extra monitor I use. That way I can run it full screen while working with a full screen browser.

    They are known as pop-ups. To stop them download and install GlimmerBlocker.

  • Firefox 4.0b10 will randomly lock up and say (Not Responding) in the title bar, and sometimes takes 1min to become usable again.

    Most of the time when I launch Firefox 4.0b10 it will hang for 30sec-1min before loading. It will show a white page and say (Not Responding) in the title bar.
    It also does this when opening a new tab, clicking any link, and sometimes scrolling down a page.

    My McCaffee was a trial thing, I think. I clicked on it to see if it was updated, and it said it was expired. So I'm just going to uninstall it completely and install AdAware, which is all I've ever used for years and never had a problem.
    It occurs to me -- this must (?) have something to do with my new computer... it was slow right out of the box, and I called ASUS tech support the second day I had the puter up and running, and the tech asked me to do a System File Check (SFC), but discovered that the normal pathways through which one would do a SFC (according to him) did not work - the machine would not either recognize them or it would simply swallow the command and then just do nothing... he put me on hold for a few minutes. He came back with a workaround (don't remember it exactly, but it involved a DOS prompt), and I was able to finally run a SFC, which revealed "corrupted files" that had to be "repaired."
    In a brand new computer? That can't be a good thing... Maybe the system software factory install was just a bad install? Because I had some slow Firefox issues on my old machine (Acer, dual core, 4gRAM, 2009 machine), but NOTHING like this. This is getting very frustrating. I'm used to just sitting down to my computer and using it, not sitting down and fighting with it for 2 or 3 minutes or more before i can do anything.

  • How do you make the title bar display different text than the page title?

    I'm looking for a way for the title bar display of my web page to be different than the text in the actual nav bar created by iWeb. For instance, I'd like the nav bar to just say Home for my main page, but in the title bar in the browser say "blah blah blah."
    I know there has to be a way to do this. iWeb has actually done it on one page already, but I can't figure out how. I think it picked up the title bar text from the first text box in the page. For instance, the page name in the navigation bar is "blahs for today" but the browser title bar when you open that page says "blah blah," which happens to be the first line of text on the page. The page title in iWeb.app, though, is "blahs for today." But if I look at the source code it lists title as "blah blah."
    I'm guessing I might be able to work around by making an invisible text box with the text that I want in the title bar as the very first thing on the page, and hope iWeb makes that the title bar text. I'd rather have a more correct way of doing it.
    Is there a way of doing this in the source code without having to change a lot of stuff?
    Thanks for any help.

    Richard ~ The key is the default Title box that iWeb creates for every new page — it's that which you need to edit, not another text box you've created. And to make the text in that Title box invisible, see here.

  • How to send a warning message before closing soft via X of the title bar

    With labview 8.2:
    I would like to send a warning message before closing my soft when the user press the "X" of the title bar. Is it possible to do that without a Windows dll?
    Thanks a lot,

    Gerd,
    I think a filter event for 'Panel close?' is more appropriate because you have the possibility to cancel the event or continue the event.

  • Who Will Be the First to Tweak IE9 To Restore the Page Title into the Title Bar?

    It's a well-known fact that if you disable the tabbed view (i.e., you prefer to use multiple separate windows for your browser pages) the Page Title from whatever web page you visit doesn't show up anywhere.
    How does a blatant omission like this pass a design review?
    It's like someone at Microsoft doesn't think titles belong in Title Bars any more.  Who is this person, and do they actually USE a computer?
    In a similar vein, Windows Explorer windows no longer put the path in the Title Bar -
    unless you use one of the fine aftermarket products such as ShellFolderFix or ClassicShell to restore the Title Bar to service.
    Has anyone figured out yet what to tweak to put the page title in the Window Title Bar for IE9?
    -Noel

    I see I just got another up-vote for the original post in this thread.
    Perhaps it's time to follow up...
    TODAY, with Windows 8.1 and IE11, we see that you can no longer eliminate tabbed view.  Thus there is a place - at the expense of some space for the address bar, where the page
    title appears.  But it is not the Title bar, and it's usually not wide enough to fit the whole title.
    Why is Microsoft continuing to choose to do ANYTHING but follow their own desktop usability standards?
    We see the ongoing departure of application design from standards not only in IE, but also in Office and other Microsoft applications.
    Hey!  We users didn't designate that space across the tops of windows as a title area.  Microsoft did.  We just got used to using it.  When we look to activate the proper window on our desktops, we look at the titles.  Fortunately,
    there are 3rd party developers who make programs to put the right things back, but I'm forced to ask:  Why?  This is not an accident.
    Are we being groomed by Microsoft to become used to and ultimately begin to accept random UI design?
    Microsoft engineers, are you being instructed to make your designs less conformant to desktop usability standards by your bosses?  If so, you need to tell them to kiss your collective asses!  You're not doing your products any favors by following
    such ridiculous advice, and as your products go so will your company.  You are not too big to fail!
    People will only allow themselves to be manipulated for so long.  Then you'll find some other company has made a product that's better (something you're
    facilitating by making your product worse) and is eating your lunch.
    Have a nice day in Redmond.

  • How Do I stop the phone from locking while the navigation program is running.

    I have a Blackberry 9630 V4.7.1.40. The phone is on an enterprise server network through work. The phone is set to password lock after a couple of min. of non-use. When I have the Sprint Navigation program running, the phone locks after a few min and loses my satellite. I then have to type in a password to unlock it and I then get the signal back.
    I called Sprint and they said to press a button after every couple of min. to keep the phone "active". That sounds a little fishy to me!
    How do I keep the phone from locking while the Nav. Application is running?
    Thank you for your help

    Agreed, that is the simplest thing to do... probably much easier than talking your IT guys into raising your timeout.

  • Hide the title bar of a movie window like QuickTime X

    Love the feature of QuickTime X of not showing the title bar/the control bar of a movie window (still waiting for Pro version, though. Is it coming out at all?)
    I'm wondering if anyone has figured out a way/tweak to hide the title bar of a iTunes movie window like QuickTime X.
    Thanks.

    What child window are you referring to? Do you mean a browser window opened with web.show_document?
    If so, you can use javascript to hide browser toolbars and so on. Search the forum for some javascript examples where windows are opened with toolbar=no.

  • Hiding URL in the title bar of external window

    Experts -
    Scenario:
    On click of 'LinkToAction' element, we are opening up a pdf document (stored on portal content server)
    in an external window, using:
    CALL METHOD LO_WINDOW_MANAGER->CREATE_EXTERNAL_WINDOW
        EXPORTING
          URL            = LV_HOSTNAME
          TITLE          = 'My Title'                             "Does not work

          HAS_MENUBAR    = ABAP_FALSE
          IS_RESIZABLE   = ABAP_TRUE
          HAS_SCROLLBARS = ABAP_TRUE

          HAS_TOOLBAR    = ABAP_FALSE
          HAS_LOCATION   = ABAP_FALSE

          WINDOW         = LO_WINDOW.
    We have a requirement to hide the location bar and the title of the window (in which the PDF is displayed). We are able to hide the location bar but the URL still appears in the title bar.
    We have tried the following code to set the title, but it is not working.
    CALL METHOD LO_WINDOW->SET_WINDOW_TITLE
      EXPORTING
        TITLE  = 'My Title.                    "Does not work
      LO_WINDOW->OPEN( ).
    Any help on how to achieve this will be appreciated.

    This is not a web dynpro restriction - but one that has been brough about by the browser designers.
    Because of the number of people falling to phishing attacks the designers of browser have all decided to always show the URL of any popup HTML windows. This stops malicious pop-ups from pretending to be something they are not and stealing user's data.
    If the world were a nicer place you could have your pop-up without the URL - but it isn't and it's probably better that your users have a least a little help in identifying if they are being scammed.
    Cheers,
    Chris
