The TOOLS tab is NO where to be found on my Mozilla Firefox so I can clean my cache. Please HELP.

there is no bar listing File, Edit, View, Tools, ...
When I click on drop down Firefox arrow I see -

Edit ( not highlighted) but some can be opened.

Web developer (plenty of choices none associated with tools /cache)

Hi,
In version 28 there is a menu called History. The second option in that menu is "Clear recent history" :-)
Please try the customization in order to put an add on for clearing the cache there at addons.mozilla.org.

You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.

After updating Firefox Browser a week ago a "Note Taking" program I had installed with a launch in the Tools tab disappeared ... 6 tabs of notes are gone now?

I had a nifty note taking program with a launch line in the Tools Tab of the browser ... I offered six separate pages to take notes ... I cannot remember the name of the program and when I updated the Mozilla Firefox Browser to the latest version about a week ago the line to launch that Note program in the Tools Tab was gone ... I cannot find my notes on those six pages and they were voluminous ... any ideas where the program went?

You are using Firefox 23.0, which is an unstable version of Firefox not yet ready for release (the latest stable version of Firefox is Firefox 22.0)
Quite possibly, the application you were using is not compatible with such a high version of Firefox.
You might want to take a look here (http://mzl.la/MOvsag) to see if downgrading Firefox can be a solution for you. If you were last using Firefox 22.0, you can go over to the Mozilla website (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/) and get Firefox from there.

In Bridge CS6, the "Tools" tab is missing the "Photoshop" option to batch process image

Hello!
Does anyone know why in Bridge cs6 under the "Tools" tab, my "Photoshop" option is missing? That is how I have always batch processed images. In Bridge, I choose the images to process, go to the "Tools" tab, down to the "Photoshop" option then to "Image Processor" and process. Now when I go into my "Tools" tab it only has the options: Batch Rename, 4 kinds of Metadata related options and Cache. Can someone tell me why this has happened and how to fix it? Thank you!!!

This problem lasted for two days. I tried many suggestions but nothing worked immediately. Suddenly I turned my computer on last night and it was fixed...inexplicably. Not sure what worked but something did. I appreciate you taking the time to offer advice.

When I click on the Tools tab, the Sync Set Up is not an option. The only choice is "sync now". When I click this option, nothing happens. Why is this happening?

It looks as if Sync was already set up. what you can do is go Tools, the options, then into the sync tab. See if an account is already connected to the computer or not.

I want to set Firefox to never remember history. When I do this using the tools tab and click okay, it goes right back to "Use Custom Settings for History". I don't want that.

I know how to manage privacy using the tools tab at the top of the address bar, or so I thought. I want to choose "Never Remember History". When I do that, and click "OK", the next time I check the privacy settings, the history is right back to "Use custom settings for history". I don't want this. Also, I don't want to use autocomplete for forms, but I can't get those settings to stay, either. I basically don't want info. stored on this computer. My system was hacked several months ago, by some joker who named all my system folders a racist slur (I reported it to Norton, and a technician had a look at it). Anyway, I want to keep things as safe as possible. Please allow me to delete all my history when I close Firefox. I don't really like Google, either, because they have a reputation for not respecting people's privacy. I don't like that I didn't have an option to uncheck google's toolbar when I installed Firefox.

That is probably OK.<br />
You may have changed one of the other history or cookie settings.
If Firefox shows the "Use custom settings for history" setting then that is an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings are not the default to make you aware that changes were made.

Why, when selecting the options box in the tools tab, does the whole page become unusable???? I cannot set my homepage at all.... very annoying..

On Saturday I upgraded to version 10 beta, after installing the version, the options box in the Tools tab will not function. When selected the screen is "blocked out" and the only way forward is to Ctrl+Alt+Del to reset the browser.
I have tried several times to re install but the settings are dragged into the new version. If this keeps on happening I will revert to the original browser.

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
* Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
* Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
* Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Automatic opening of the tools tab

Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forum but after this wonderful purchase I might spend a few hours a day
My question may be basic but I try to open acrobat X directly on tools tab when I start the application.
I looked in all of preferences but nothing helps!
In fact I want to do this to select automated actions.
I found that access by the tools tab (for faster access) but if it is possible to add the action to create the toolbar is quick as well!

I had checked and checked again many times. Choosing "No application" does not deactivate the opening of the "import pane" within Aperture browser. The only thing it does is not having any outside application to open when we want to import photos from a camera.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

The delete key does a backward delete because it is the natural way to delete while typing. May not be to you and the millions of youngsters who grew up with windows computers. When you are typing and want to delete that which you just typed you are already at the end and you delete back to where you want to re-type. When you go back to a document and want to delete a selection, you have to go to the end of the selection instead of the beginning. it's just the way its always been done on macs. it takes some getting use to.
If you select text to be deleted with your mouse then the delete key deletes the selected text. same for either delete key method.
It is not convenient when you tab to fields in a form. That why fn-delete does a forward delete.
Macs have a couple of keyboards. The small "wireless keyboard" only has the (backward) delete (fn-delete forward). The larger "Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad" has both a Delete (backwards) key beside the = abd it has the "delete >" key in the groups with fn, home, end, Pg up and Pg dn. This keyboard is best for users who have switched from windows or are familiar with the windows forward delete.

Unfortunately if you did not set up 'Find My iPhone', there is no way to remotely track or wipe the device.
