The touch function is not working

I'm located in Singapore. My friend helped to buy an iPhone for me from US, some time in Feb this year.
Now, the top half of the LCD is not sensitive to touch. I can only touch on icons/buttons that are located at lower half of the screen. Friends have tried installing it with other versions, such as 2.0.1. The problem still exists.
I am pretty sure it's hardware problem. I've entrusted a friend who's gone to US to bring it to the Apple customer centre for repair. Unfortunately, the waiting time was far too long that my friend gave up queueing. Can someone please advise. Thank you very much.

Have you tried restoring the iPhone and setting it up as a new phone? Sometimes these issues can be software based. More information on the restore process can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

    i don't see a way for you to back up your phone, because it will require you to unlock the phone.

    Try the stamdard fixes to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset. Nothing will be lost

    Sorry I had to reply through your profile Gail from Maine, my PC has java issues. In any event, when I delete them directly from my device everything is perfect and cool. However, in the rare instance I want to add new music that I actually buy in stores (I know, quite the unique and old-fashioned idea...but hey Im an audiophile) once I upload the tunes, everytime I sync my library it re-adds everything that I spent hours deleting. In a perfect world, I thought I could maintain a massive iTunes Library, and add or delete (remove) songs from my iPhone to save both memory or keep my iPhone selections more current/apt to my musical "tastes" at that time. I know about the whole playlist thing, but thought there might be an easier way. ie - checking/un-checking the little box next to the song name, and then doing a sync. Again, everytime I do this however, whether everything is checked or un-checked it adds the entire library! So frustrating. Any suggestions. Thank you graiously in advance for your help.

    TonyE is correct the plugin version comes with Adobe's Reader X.

    Depends on the damage. The battery came loose in my iPhone. When Apple opened the phone to redo the glue they discovered the speakers were also loose. Apple replaced the phone.

    While written for the iPhone, the troubleshooting below can help resolve issues with your iPad's camera, as well.
    Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
    If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
    If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
    Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
    Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
    Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
    Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
    Try to remain steady while focusing:
    Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
    Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
    Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
    Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
    If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.
    My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • Display has white and grey lines and blocks crisscrossing it and touch functions are not working properly on half the screen.

    I dropped my iPhone 5S and it landed flat on it's face (it was in a protective case).  Since then my touch screen display is not working properly. I have white and grey lines and/or blocks crisscrossing the screen both horizontally and vertically.  Screen responds to touch in odd random ways, but rarely does what I am trying to do.  Can't call or receive calls because can't dial or answer phone via swipe. Can't text or read incoming texts. All functions seem to be working except that I can't access them because the touch screen is acting up. If I move the phone around it randomly accesses different apps or functions, but I have no control over them once the appear on the screen.  Touching screen just causes phone to randomly choose something else to open.  What have I damaged?

    We cannot possibly tell. Obviously some hardware inside. Take it in to an Apple Store. They will offer you the opportunity to swap the phone for $269 in the US. Prices vary by country.

  • In Logic account the operator function is not working properly

    When am defiining the logic accounts using a operator as Function ,it is not working at all showing a red border in the cell and not able to update the grid .
    InValue/Exp-> am using a function -> CurVal > 0 then Result=CurVal else Result ="skip" endif

    Now i am creating a logic account say Item - L1100 ,Type-IN, Criteria value-1100,Operator-Function(Not working),
    Value/Exp->If CURVAL > 0 Then      RESULT = CURVAL Else Result=”Skip” End If.
    As soon as i select the operator(Function) ,it shows a red border on the operator cell and couldn't able to update the grid .
    Have searched the OTN discussion forumns and find no answer for this !! Could you please sugesst me if any workaround available for this piece ?
