The touch pad on my macbook pro (retina) not scrolling in Aperture

My touchpad works fine in all other applications, and scrolls the Aperture browser fine, but as soon as I am in the viewer or viewing in full screen it becomes totally eratic.
Sometimes it takes 5 swipes to scroll to the next pic, sometimes 1 swipe. These are small (<5mb) jpegs so loading shouldn't be an issue. The directional keys make the pics scroll instantly.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Let it dry, it will come around. You just chilled it a little most likely, unless the cloth was very damp....
Next time use rubbing alcohol.
It removes the oils and grease and dries fast too.
So your have appy to the cloth, wipe, flip the cloth and wipe up the dirt and grime, then start the process with a new clean section of cloth, else you place the grime back on.

• Why can't I use the touch pad on my MacBook Pro to zoom or shrink? Two finger pinch doesn't work.

My touchpad is set to do this but it works in OS X 7 the same as in snow leopard (with a couple of exceptions).

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing. It just wasn't worth the hassle. I got a good (standard size) monitor for about half the price of the old one, so I'm not too disappointed. Thanks for your help though

Don't use any cleaning spray. Wipe with a moist but not wet microfiber cloth.

• Has anyone else had the screws fall out of the bottom of 2012 2013 Macbook Pro Retina?

Apple tried to repair my Macbook Pro Retina when I first got it. They took the back off, replaced the motherboard (which was not the problem), and returned it to me the next day (via FedEx). When I got the machine back, half of the screws on the back shell were falling out... and one was in crooked. Apple told me to take my machine to the authorized computer repair place to have the screws tightened. The screws were tightened and now, they are falling out again! I've read about needed some sort of locktight product to put the screws back in. I don't understand why an authorized repair place would not do this the first time! Can you tell me what the process should be on replacing the screws in the bottom (shell) of the Macbook Pro Retina? I've heard that the shell should be replaced when the new screws are put in. Is this true? (I have AppleCare and will take my machine in next week for repair.... again!) Thanks!

The first repair (when they thought logic board was bad) was a mail-in to Apple. They are the ones that did not re-apply the screws properly and they were falling out when I took computer out of the cardboard shipping box. Called Apple. They said take it to Computer Guys (only auth Apple repair here). Now, a new Mac store in the mall has opened. I think I will take it there this time since it was not done properly at the Computer Guys last time (however, Apple didn't put them back in properly in the FIRST place! Gee. I have Applecare and will stay with Apple repair only. Thanks! I appreciate everyone's input. It has been really helpful! The only reason I have not taken it to an Apple Store is because it is 3 hours away. I will see what this new Mac store has to offer. Oh... and, Apple Support did absolutely nothing for me! Did not even apologize for not fixing it properly the first time... and costing me time and money (as my computer is part of my job). Thanks again! Did Apple do this on purpose to keep us from repairing our own machines? I've seen so many complaints online and I imagine there will be more to come as the machines age and people try to make repairs themselves. Crazy.

• The Logic Board of my MacBook Pro Retina Display stopped working.

I purchased my MacBook Pro Retina Display 13 months ago. Barring a few errors the computer functioned beautifully, and I maintained it with the care it deserved. On Wednesday, last week, the laptop ceased to work completely. It wouldn't start, or charge. On submitting it for repair, I was informed that the logic board failed. Since its warranty lapsed a month ago, $1050 is required for its replacement. That outrageous amount is more than half of what I paid initially for the laptop. The service provider would not agree to any concession, or plea.
For an Apple enthusiast, it is very disheartening to learn that its foremost product stops operating in this manner. I am a high school senior, who has accustomed himself to his computer, and cannot at this time purchase a new laptop, let alone a Windows laptop. With college admission deadlines fast approaching, I solicit your help and suggestions, very desparately.

As much as it will suck to hear this answer, there really is no solution. Because the computer is now out of warranty, you have to pay the full $1050 to get the logic board replaced. I know this is a large sum of money, but you have to remember that the logic board includes the CPU, Graphics Card and RAM, all soldered onto the board. You're paying to replace all of the most expensive components of your computer, even if only one of them failed.
So, long story short, you'll have to either pay to replace the logic board, because it's out of warranty, or buy a new computer.

• What's the best case for my Macbook Pro Retina? College Student.

I have a 13 inch Macbook Pro Retina and since I will be going to college next year I am looking to protect my laptop. Any suggestions on cases or anything? Thank you!!

I wouldn't bother. The case is a tough, metal shell.
Putting any sort of covering over that is just going to attract dirt, dust and possibly interfere with cooling.

• Where are the Dual Microphones on 15" MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013?

I have just bought a 15inch macbook pro retina late 2013. on the site it mentiones that on the side there are dual microphones but no matter how hard and close i look at the side where the two thunderbolts, headphone jack, USB and Magsafe are i can not see them!!!
any one else have this issue, have i missed something???? have apple decided to cover these two little holes?

There might be some confusion about the dual array microphone:
http://www.gottabemobile.com/2013/12/03/13-inch-macbook-pro-retina-review-late-2 013/
"For video chats Apple includes a dual array microphone, with both microphones sitting on the left side of the notebook."
That's those two tiny black dots on the left side. Must be some kind of phased array to track multiple people talking like for FaceBook.
However there is a stereo microphone input:
http://www.cnet.com/how-to/record-through-your-macbooks-headphone-jack/
It's actually the headphone jack, which is stereo and can be flipped as a stereo input (didn't know that).

• With the new purchase of my MacBook Pro retina, the Mac AppStore think that I've purchased iLife, therefor I can't update iLife apps, it asks me to sign in with the Apple ID that it thinks I purchased it with.

I have recently purchased the new Macbook pro retina and while updating the preinstalled (free) iPhoto & iMovie, a message shows saying: To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it. And obviously i haven't purchased them. Tried everything I know, not sure what els to do.

• Scratch on the Edge of the Aluminium cover on my Macbook Pro Retina 13"

I have a Macbook Pro Retina 13" just bought it in October 2013. I found there is a scratch on the edge of the aluminium cover. I am not asking for any replacement. But, is there any way to remove the scratch since it scratch my hand and it's possible my child will get hurt from this scratch.

No, not possible
If it "hurts your hand" its not really a scratch but a gouge or a BUR
removing a bur or a gouge is easy enough, the problem is youll be left with a nasty shiney spot, .....are you prepared to do that?
youd mask off the area with painter tape and take a thumbnail size of ultra-fine sandpaper and remove the bur or gouge just enough to not make it sharp
however this will make the spot look much larger and much worse
Having polished metal for many many years, I can tell you matte aluminum is extremely hard to buff out
Remove the scratch? EASY
matte aluminum, very very hard
1. remove scratch
blend it
raise it
blend it out
lower the whole blended area
These are professional skills and if you TRY to remove the scratch, youll make it look horrible, a big shiney spot.
