The update for Broadband Desktop Help - not workin...
Hi and good morning to all, what a fabulous morning, should be outside in the sun.
The problem I have is that the latest upgrade for BT BB Desktop Help keeps popping up on the screen, however, after the download has completed there is a message that "one or more problems has been encountered" and to try later.
I have repeated this exercise many many times with the same result.
Is this not a problem, a me problem, a my computer problem or a BT problem?

Critical update for Bradband Desktop Help XP
Hi, I keep getting reminded to download update but no joy. My browser is Firefox but the update opens Internet Explorer. It then says another browser is running (it isn't) and to shut down. I do this by clicking 'shut down other browser' The download then continues but after a few minutes the message 'One or more componets could not be downloaded try again later' Grrrrr I have tried 10 times now? Is there a manual download to desktop I can use? Many Thanks

I keep receiving a B T pop-up advising me that a critical update is available for Broadband Desktop Help. When I click on update I get to a screen which tells me that "This update requires elevation, click on next to proceed". Clicking on next has no effect and nothing happens. Does anyone know why ?

Thanks for that 'sberman' - because my iPhone is backed-up to my work computer (only at this stage) I have had to call our IT Department in Adleaide. (4 times this morning). The last guy managed to get the phone into 'DFU Mode' - no more recovery mode screen - (kind of 'asleep' perhaps) from my understanding of same. I am awaiting a call again from IT so they can get my computer to actually recognise my iPhone on the C Drive. This also happened to one of my colleagues in Newman (WA). She got so frustrated with the whole process that she bought another phone the next time she was in 'civilisation.' She hasn't had any problems since. (Cross fingers).

I down loaded the update for 4 and when I get to the end where is you click finish, it tells me to close firefox, but I do not have it open. Now I can not get in to Firefox at all. PLEASE Help.
You can get Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
You should still have your profile folder, so when you install 3. you will get your bookmarks and other user data back.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
After instaling the update for OS yesterday (saturday 7.10.2012) my macbook pro will not start. The instaling proses start but stopp after 2-3 minutes. I have started mayby 10 tims know but it stops every time. Help, its just a monts ago my iMac hard fail
Actually it sometimes gets a little further, the display will dim and the pointer will appear and then whoop it will turn off. if i do a verbose start up, it will finish all the steps, the white screen will appear and dim and then it will turn off.

BT Broadband Desktop Help Update ~ a problem.
I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post my question, but here goes:
In the past few days the following has occurred and I am finding it irritating, so I am hoping you can give me advice as to a cure.
I switch on my PC and a pop-up window appears, captioned BT Broadband Desktop Help Update, advising me there is an update available. I click OK and it downloads / installs the update. Finally the window advises the BT Broadband Desktop Help has been successfully updated and I click the Finish button.
However, the next time I switch on my PC I am once again advised it needs updating and I go through the whole routine again.
Question: how do I stop this happening?
BTW I do not want to uninstall the software as, in the past, it has been very helpful.

Current situation: whem I switch on the PC I no longer get the pop-up window reminding me to update the s/w. However, if I run the s/w the IE page tells me I need to update, which I do but it still tells me to perform an update.
Thus I decided to uninstall the package (followed by a re-instal) and now find I can't carry this out using Add/Remove programs as it starts to remove and then freezes.
I am therefore going to make a fresh posting asking for an alternate method of uninstallation ~ I have carried out a Forum search but found nothing of any relevance. -
Failure to install the update for Adobe Flash Player "A required file (:3) could not be installed."
I've bee trying to install the update for Adobe Flash Player for some time and keep getting install failed....."A required file (:3) could not be installed." Of course I'm going to the suggested installation problems website but nothing there seems to address this specfic failure mode. Can anybody help?

I cannot update or install updates on itunes. It says that the location for that file does not exist. I cant even uninstall itunes as the same error message comes up.

I have tried to download the update for itunes several times. Each time it get to the installation part and stall and then reverses and give me an erorr message. My current version when I open it, it says there is an error and I will not be able to download a CD into itunes, although I have completed several CD downloads.
Go to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ and download the full installer. Run the installer and you will be up-to-date. Sometimes the updater just gets in a weird state...

You didn't buy an 'unlocked' iPhone 3GS - you bought a 'hacked' one.
Updating to iOS 5 removed the hack and the unofficial unlock.
All you can do is try to find out which network the phone is locked to and ask them if they can unlock it properly.
Otherwise, sell it or throw it away and buy an officially unlocked phone from an official source. -
Since I installed the update for Mindjolt games, it will not let me in. Does anyone else have this problem?
Try resetting the iPad. Simultaneously hold down the Home and the On buttons until the iPad shuts off. Ignore the off slider if it should appear. This should take only about ten seconds or so. Once shut down is compete, turn the iPad back on.
