Well, finally BT's complete lack of ability to manage their core business is paying off.....can download/will download.....FANTASTIC!!!
And if you aren't affected by this and Do go over your limit...I'd complain to ofcom....you can't treat one customer one way and another a more preferential way....
Oh, and if you pay for anything more than 10MB download per month, I'd also ask for a discount......
Thank you BT...may your utter incompetence reign supreme forever....
All hail the God of failure...yes, Mr Buckley...I'm genuflecting in YOUR direction!!!

I just checked with IE9, and you're right. The display is bad as the border around the graph is grainy. Opera is also bad, but Chrome & Safari are fine.
As an aside, stopping javascript gives a tabled display.

  • Cannot access broadband usage monitor

    Hi,
I've been having trouble accessing the usage monitor for the last two weeks, prior to that it was fine so I'm trying to work out what has changed.  I've done a few searches on the boards but nothing has really helped.  I saw some posts by Andy_N with various methods for accessing the usage monitor but all of these come up with the same message:
The usage monitor is currently undergoing maintenance. Please try again later.
At first I thought it was just exactly what it said, that the monitor was down for maintenance but now that I've not been able to access it for some days it seems obvious that the problem lies at my end or with my account.  I also get another message on the 'Welcome to MyBT' page which possibly indicates an account issue:
Sorry, we are currently unable to present Manage your services information.
I've tried accessing the usage monitor from more than one browser/computer so I don't think it's a cookies issue or anything like that.
Does anyone have any suggestions or experienced anything similar or should I just give BT a call?  Is there a specific phone number you can call to request your current broadband usage that I can use in the meantime?
    Thanks
    Paul

  • Broadband Usage Monitor always 'Under Maintenance'

    Hi
This is my first post having joined BT Broadband at the beginning of the week.
My problem is that everytime I log in to MyBT and go to check my Broadband Usage I always get a message saying that the monitor is undergoing maintenance.
Is it possible for some at BT to look into this and see if everything has been set up for the usage monitor to work?
    Thanks

    Hi
Tried your link, as well as going throught MyBT again and still getting the Under Maintenance message.
I noticed you mentioned that the usage monitor may not be set up for the MyBT account yet - I don't suppose you know usually how many days it takes from registering with MyBT for the usage monitor to be working?  I know that I registered on Wednesday evening and it took till yesterday (Saturday) for the bills & payments screen to show details (on Wed, Thurs & Friday it kept saying we are unable to show you your bill at this time - if you have just signed up to MyBT then it may take up to 48 hours for you to view your bill).
    Thanks

  • The BB usage monitor

Is it just my browser or is it a general thing. When I log in to check the usage monitor it is a full day behind, which rather defeats the object. For instance, this morning at 07:00am,I checked and it only gave me the usage till the end of the 20th March  leaving out yesterday.I will be eventually upgrading to the next level of Broadband usage ie the 40Gig tariff, but in the meantime does anybody know of an onscreen monitor (from BT or anybody) that can be minimised to run in the toolbar? Cheers Kenny

The BT monitor shows usage up to the previous day, but it doesn't update until the morning. Don't know if there's a specific time for the update but mine showed up to yesterday just after 9am.
Third party monitors are available and this one is often recommended: http://www.thinkbroadband.com/tbbmeter.html. Their drawback is that they only apply to the computer they're installed on, which is of limited use if several devices use your connection. Whether any can be minimised to show real time use will need some more research.

  • Improvements to the Broadband Usage Monitor

    Hi All
We've made some improvements to our broadband usage monitor. There's lots of new features: An improved user interface, a personalised message area telling you about any usage actions on your account, and richer usage information.
There's a link on the tool for you to share your feedback. Any thoughts you have on the changes we've made will help us with future developments. We can't reply to emails sent to this inbox so please don't send any usage queries as they won't be picked up! You can access the usage monitor directly at the new friendly url below:”
    www.bt.com/broadbandusagemonitor
Check out the screenshots below to see the new look!

It's still there and working, but the usual gateway to it is kaput for the moment.
To see, log in to MyBT. On the My Bills and Payments tab, select 'View Your Recent Usage'. This takes you to your phone bill. (Bear with me!). Select the Broadband tab, and then select the Broadband Usgae button. That should work.

    Hi,
I can see from the forum threads that there is a BT Usage Monitor that you can access through My BT. However, when I look at my 'My BT' account, there is no sign of the usage monitor.
Any help in getting access to it would be appreciated.

  • Re: Usage monitor not updating.

All I get is a message saying it's down for maintenance. All this is very interesting, as my allocation should have been topped up on the 1st. It wasn't topped up until the 2nd, after which it showed 3 days worth of usage, at my typical rate, accompanied by a message telling me that based on current usage I would exceed my limit and should upgrade to unlimited. This would be OK if they had ANY evidence, but I've only had it for 1 month, and my usage was well under. After this, the monitor stopped working and has been "down for maintenance" since yesterday, therby preventing me from seeing my actual usage. Ist it Me, or is there some kind of game going on? If I think I'm being gamed, then ALL BT services will be out of this house PDQ and OFCOM informed.

I average 4.6 gb a month, and am on the 10 gb / month tariff.  Nothing has changed in the setup here, but on 2nd July I  get an email to say I'm near my July monthly limit, and on the 3rd I get an email to say I'm over the limit.  As at the 4th the usage monitor says I have now used 20 gb - i.e 4 month's worth in 4 days.
I even turn the router off overnight and when I'm at work.
This is racking up a large bill.  After spending an hour on the phone BT insist their figures are correct.  Someone in India tried to change my wireless key 3 times, then gave up and said he can't do it, and he is off home as his shift has ended.  He suggests I try sorting it out myself, and to phone him back on Sunday.
Talk about banging your head against a wall.  I'll cancel the direct debit and they can take a run and jump when they send a big invoice through.

  • Broadband Usage Monitor - past hstory?

Like several other customers I was accused of using my entire month's  10GB data quota in the first two weeks of January even though I'd hardy used the internet.
Checking the BT Broadband Usage Monitor I can only see the accrued usage for the month; there does not appear to be a way of checking the daily usage other than by remembering to go through the six pages every day to check the latest figures. I would like to be able to go through the month day by day. That way at least if you get a nasty shock towards the end of the month you can at least determine when the alleged usage was supposed to have happened.
Others on the Forum have stated that the Usage Monitor canprovide a more useful breakdown of usage but all the suggested links have taken me back to the same old page. The only option is to see the total usage or the upload/download split.
    Any further suggestions?
Incidentally have others noticed that the date of the last update seems to be 12 hours behind the date of the actual readings. i.e. if you look on day C before 11:00am you get the usage figures quoted for day B but the timestamp is 23:59 on day A. After 15:00 the usage figures have not changed but the date stamp has moved to day B's date. Likewise checking on day D in the morning now gives higher readings for day B (because they are the figures for day C).  This is useless, BT!

BT have access to a usage monitor that gives you Usage to date in the current Month, Usage per day for the last 31 days and usage per month for the last 12 months. If you cannot get this information yourself, you can phone or live chat and they should give you this information.
Aparently my usage has doubled for the past 3 months - what sort of a misinformed service must BT be running?
1st March I will record my router stats and calculate the throughput - I have already read about incorrect usages and know faults causing overpayment by loyal customers.
Simply dreadful service but checking this has shown BT have been double charging for a free service - dreadful!

  • Data Usage Monitor

    Hi
I hope someone can give me an answer to this.
Since signing on to BT Broadband last April I have been unable to access the data usage monitor. All I get is an 'error' message saying that the data usage monitor is currently unavailable to a small number of cvustomers'. On the phone to 'tech. support for almost 90 mins today being passed around. No one is able to tell me why I can't access this info
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I'm not sure if anyone knows why some customers can't access the usage monitor.  If you're on an unlimited plan, it doesn't really matter.  If you're on a limited usage plan, then you are effectively on unlimited until BT fixes the problem.

  • BT Broadband Usage monitor LIES

    Hi,
I have recently joined Bt from the 18th when my phone service and broadband was activated. The bt home hub came a few days later on the 21st. Before connecting the hub to the computer the day before I was on my BT and I wanted to check out the usage monitor and from the 10GB I receive it said that my current total till the 31st was 9.70GB left, this is impossible because I haven't used the Internet and haven't plugged in the hub, i kept calling bt about the problem but there was no definite answer from them. Now its been 8 days that I have used the Internet since the 21st. I keep checking my usage after the first 3 days it said i used 3gb and now I received an email saying that I have exceed 7gb and I have checked the usage monitor and it says that I have 2.2Gb left. TO be honest with you i was with sky the free broadband package which was 2Gb and I haven't went over the limit once so I cant see how I have spent 7gb in 8 days.I can see on the forum that other members are having the same problem as me, this is unfair and i hope there is a solution to all of this.

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
Clearly there is something wrong with the usage meter for new connections, and I believe that your information proves it. 300MB, although not large, is still 3% of your package and can't be some form of overhead "before" using it!
I hope you don't mind me asking what you may have been doing, e.g. Skype video chat, Facebook applications etc. If you have not done anything different to when you had Sky then there is a fault (though not sure if their package had any off peak allowance, or didn't include certain items).
