dell xps 8500 running windows 8.1. Purchased march 2013. 8 gb ram 1 tera bit hd. Amd radeon video card 1 gb ram, video card was tested by dell twice. Refreshed the whole computer, reinstall everything fresh. All drivers Bios updated. Playing a game: zuma revenge, the action stops and starts randomly. This is the reason why i went thru a complete refresh. Problem still exists. help please.

Typically they work OK until:
- They break because of misuse like dropping
- The battery dies

My video download gets about 2/3 of the way through, stops, and starts over

My video download gets about 2/3 of the way through, stops, and starts over (as if I had never downloaded anything). I have DSL, and it's the only video downloading. Why does it stop and start all over again, over and over? It's really bumming out my iTunes experience. Oh, and I'm running XP, not XPpro.

Let it go... these DL's take forever, depending on the spped of your connection and the traffic on the servers.
If by morning it is still sitting there restart and the DL should pick up from where it left off.

Try to download the application VLC.
It is a media player that should be able to play any audio or video file you may have. If your videos play flawlessly using that application, then the issue is with iTunes and Quicktime, as they are both essentially similar software types when it comes to playing media.
In that case you may need to install a plug-in file called Perian, in order for the videos to play correctly within iTunes or at least Quicktime...

That would indicate a network issue.
Reboot ATV and router
Make sure DNS is set to auto
Ensure router is up to date, if on wifi try ethernet
Go to istumbler.net to get a report of the network, look for signal strength and noise

Video playback stops and starts

I've never had this problem before but since I wiped my 5th Gen (late 2006) iPod Video and put new content on it the video playback keeps freezing for a second and then continuing. Most of the time the audio keeps going but sometimes they both stop and start again. It's very annoying. I don't see anyone else in this forum complaining about this. Am I the only one?
Anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Once it has booted it can be restarted without incident from the Apple menu. I have swapped out all of the hardware. Monitor, Memmory,Video Card and reset the PRAM. After resetting the PRAM it booted on the first attempt and I thought it was solved. But the next day it was back to starting and stopping until the Monitor came on. Does anyone have a suggestion? It could be a bad PRAM battery corrupting your PRAM. Typically when I have monitor issues on startup it is a bad PRAM battery.

If you have a digital multimeter you can check the condition of your present battery. It should read at least 3.2V if it is the 3.6V half-AA battery type. A new battery provides 3.67 Volts DC. A bad battery provides under 3.2 Volts DC. Ideally this should be measured while the battery is under load; added recommendation from Hans777:

During the internet, every time a use youtube videos, the video constantly stops and then continues.

Try a clean installation of the Flash Player Plug-in as follows.
First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
Flash Player Uninstaller.
When the download has completed, close all browser windows, open your Download folder and run the uninstaller. After this has completed, restart the PC.
Next, ( unless you already have it ), download and install Firefox and then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash. Note: You may want to deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before downloading.
Close all browser windows before running the Flash installer.
Launch Firefox and see if videos etc play Ok in this browser - if they do, close Firefox, open Internet Explorer and click on the same Adobe Flash link above to get a prompt to install the ActiveX component. When done, restart Internet Explorer.

Stops and starts in video streaming from iphone to tv using apple tv and airplay.Both devices have latest software and are capable.

Not necessarily, but right now you don't have a stable network and there are a lot of factors that can compromise that. I didn't say ethernet was the only option, again you can get a report of your network to see the status. Would have to change things in order to strengthen the wifi signal (i.e. router location, channel,placement of ATV etc). I am running on wireless without issue, same as most users, and if you took it to a controlled environment (like Apple) you would see similar results.

Buffered videos stop and start

I am trying to watch online video and tv. The video streaming stops and starts. It can be youtube, vimeo, or a television show online -- same poor result. I have a very slow connection. Knowing this, I always wait for the video to buffer -- there is always a greyed buffered bar well ahead of where I am watching. The video still stops and starts. T1 that is brutally slow, but I had hoped that despite how slow the connection is, the buffering would eventually get it downloaded. So even though its buffering, the slow T1 can still make the videos stop and start?

Are you trying to watch YouTube from a web browser on iPad or from the YouTube app?
Should be running fine from the YouTube app on the iPad unless you have a slow connection.
Our family uses DSL (4-5 Mbps) and we stream video both with iPads, computers and TV with,mostly, no issues like buffering or data degradation/pixellation. It all depends on how much traffic there is on the Internet at any one specific time.
Heavy Internet traffic on different days at different hours of the day, from your ISP, can also be a factor in slowing down your Internet connection.

Youtube loading is stop and start

I noticed that since I downloaded the latest Adobe flash player, the Youtube videos load very slowly. The loading is stop and start.
Before I installed the latest flash player Youtube videos worked well. No problem.
I repaired permissions. I even installed old versions of flash player, flash player 9 and flashplayer 10UB. I uninstalled before I installed the other versions. I made sure to repair permissions after installing.
I am back to installing the newest version and repairing permissions. After restarting the computer, Youtube videos still download in a stop and start way with a few seconds in between.
I turned off iPv6 as well. Nothing helps.
The strange thing is that Youtube videos worked well before I downloaded the latest flash player.
This is a MacBook Air rev C HDD 120GB. I have Leopard OS 10.56.
It's the same for Safari, Firefox and Opera. All browsers are up to date.

yes we have most recent adobe update installed.
but we've had some issues with the internet connection - this is our vacation place- so it's dsl and our linksys seems to be having problems - will know more later this week when new linksys unit is installed.
