Thx - the videos are on my Ipad - that is the problem - they are taking up all the storage and there is no room for anything else. Is there any place I can store them so that I can access them from time to time, but not have they use up all the space on the IPad? Sounds like the cloud is out...

Let me explain a little more. I had downloaded a lot of free books in the past as a trial when iBooks was first released and since then I have decided I no longer want them, because of this I hid them from the purchased section of the iBooks store. The 5 books left are ones I decided to keep as seen in the following picture.
This is how it appears in iBooks on my mac. There are 4 books downloaded and 1 book that I have decided not to download at this time. I would still like to keep this book available in the cloud incase I want to download it again in the future. You’ll notice that hide iCloud books is not selected, if I wanted to hide the book that I have chosen to keep in the cloud, but have not downloaded yet I could.
This is exactly how I think this feature should work. If you have hidden a book from your purchases it should not show up in the mac Ibooks app. (I am aware you can never actually delete a purchase, just hide them and that hidden purchases can be restored to your account from within the account management section of the iBooks store).
The iOS app is working differently for me. Here is a picture of the purchased tab on the iBooks store in iOS Ibooks. Again notice that pictures of Lilly is still yet to be downloaded. This is how I expected it to look.

In case there was an issue with syncing I tried logging in and out of my iTunes account via settings in iOS. Force closing the app, disabling automatic downloads and removing my device from iTunes in the cloud. Syncing with iTunes on the mac did not correct the issue either.
Interestingly I have the same issue on my iPhone 6 running iOS 8.3 as I do on my iPad mini suggesting that this might be an issue either with my account or with iOS iBooks software in general.

I imported 100 photos from my camera (Canon) into iphoto. The importation went well, and when I was watching the photos, suddenly iphoto crashed. I restarted iphoto and realized that the photos had disapered. The events are availbble into iphoto but they are empty, the photos have dispeared. I can not believe they disapeared as they have been imported and read once, they must be hidden somewhere on the disk? Is there a way to find where they are?
Assuning you're running iPhoto 9 or later try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

I downloaded os6, and all of my apps disappeared. Is there a way to get them back?
I downloaded os6 and when it was finished, any apps that I had downloaded were gone. I went to the appstore to re-download them but found that I only have the opton to "open" them. So basically if I want to use any apps I have to go into passbook, then the app store, then find it on the list of downloaded apps, THEN I can use it. It's really inconvenient compared to being able to just press a button on my main screen as before. Is there a way I can get them all back or am I stuck using them like this? I definitely would never have downloaded os6 if I knew it was going to be so stupid.

When you download an app and it isn't age appropriate how can you remove it from the cloud so the child doesn't replace it on their device?

It can be used to password protect access to about:config. To prevent the user from disabling/uninstalling the add-on, it also allows you to password protect the add-ons manager. You can also lock down other parts of Firefox such as the options dialog and clear history. -
Is there any way to remove "sudo" from the server?
sudo can do a lot of things which root can do. I tried the following to remove, but got failed message. Is there any graceful way?
Or, maybe I don't have to remove it, by default, nobody can use sudo to run root only commands, unless I give them priviledge to do so by using "visudo", right?

When the user is not already root the sudo command will ask the user for the current user account password. This is to prevent that someone uses the sudo command in case your session gets hijacked. There is usually a default timeout. As long as you enter another sudo command within 5 minutes of the last sudo command, you won't have to enter your password.
The visudo command is typcially used to edit the /etc/sudoers file, which defines which users or groups are allowed to use the sudo command and to which commands or group of commands it applies. For instance if you make an entry in the /etc/sudoers file to allow a certain user to use all commands, then the user can enter "sudo su -" to become root without having to know the root password.

I turned on the "contacts" feature in the iCloud menu in settings on my iPhone4. I ended up with a lot useless email addresses from my yahoo contact list that was cluttering up my phone contacts (actual phone numbers.) I thought I could undo this by turning off the contacts feature in iCloud. Instead, it wiped ALL of my phone number information in contacts, and left me with just the list of my email addresses, which I don't need. I am desperate to recover all those phone numbers! Please help.

I had a TON of browsing history in those tabs and there is NO WAY I could recreate it all manually. Is there any possibility that FF could get them back even though the "Restore Previous Session" menu option is greyed out? BTW, I've had more hangs and crashes with 8.0.1 than with any previous version of Firefox.
Did that inadvertently (can someone at Mozilla tell me if the download procedure has changed? I only wanted to download the new version, not install it right away, but it got installed with no input from me. I DO NOT APPRECIATE THAT. Starting to lose my love of firefox.)

When I plugged my iphone into the computer for the first time i lost all my music and ringtones. Is there a way to get them back without buying them again, or will I have to buy them again.
Download the free app My Contacts Backup and use it to back up the contacts on your device now (it will back them up as an attachment to an email that you send to yourself). Then restore your device to your most recent backup to see if it will recover your contacts. If not, if necessary you can open the email and tap the attachment to re-import the contacts you have now back to your device.
If you need to restore to an iCloud backup this has to be done in the initial setup process, which requires you to first erase your device. If you have any more recent data on your device now that is not in the backup that you want to save you'll need to do that first. Then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. You will then go through the setup screens on your device, and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup (see image below). Be sure you are connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to finish. -
Please Help!! When I updated my Ipad2 it wiped out all of my calendar entries. Is there a way to retrieve them? I have looked in Icloud and itunes and am not finding the calendar there, as it comes on the ipad and is not an app.
Were you syncing calendar events over the air with your iCloud account or syncing calendar events direct with a supported calendar app on your computer via the iTunes sync process?
If your planner is your life, not a good idea to depend on one device for your calendar events. They should be available on your computer as well along with the data included with your computer's backup. -
When I try to open video files purchased through iTunes in Quicktime, I get the message: 'Error 23132: an unknown error occurred. This never happened until I updated iTunes, but when I try to go back to the previous version, I still get the message. It is more convenient for me to play videos in Quicktime since iTunes is such a memory hog. Please help.
You may get better results if you switch to this alternate version: iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) and, if needed, reinstall QuickTime. The new (nearly) all 64-bit version doesn't seem to play well with QuickTime. Perhaps if DRM authentication is required QuickTime needs to be able to see something that is part of the older 32-bit code.
