  • My iPod touch will not send e mail. Can someone help?

My iPod touch will not send e mail. I have tried for months now and have no success. It connects to many different wifi networks with no problem it even receives e mail but it will not let me respond or send newly composed e mail.
    Can someone help me out?

    Hey,
Who is providing the email account? Most email accounts provided by Internet Service Providers will only let you send emails when connected to the Internet over their connection.
You can try entering your email address on the iPhone Mail Setup Assistant, if its a common provider the settings will be displayed.

Camera works, with the side buttons it takes pictures.
Although I'm not able to see on the screen.

First try a restore from backup
If problem still occurs try a restore to factory defaults/new Pod.
If still occurs likely a hardware problem and an appoitment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

All I can say is that I REALLY like my Touch 4th gen because I have all sorts of capabilities in a small form: e-mail, web browsing, news, weather, books, magazines, etc. etc.  Plus lots and lots of apps out there, including so many free ones.  I use the Cloud a lot so it's great to have everything sync'd to my MacBookPro (e-mail, Evernote, Pocket, etc.)
It would be easier, though, to do some of this, especially magazines, on the iPad mini, but, again, I love the small size of the Touch.
As for the 5th gen instead of the 4th, the fifth has Siri and the 3D feature in maps, which are great.  And I'm sure it's a lot faster in iOS 6 than the 4th gen.  And cool colors!
    Don't know if this helps . . .

This exact same thing happened to me too yesterday and trying what you said has just fixed it right now! Lucky I happened to come across this discussion while looking for a solution and has saved me a trip to Genius Bar tonight.
Thanks very much for the solution!
This problem has never happened before and I have just updated to iOS 7.0.3 about 2 weeks ago, so wondering if it may be an iOS 7 issue...

I deactivated Acrobat 9 Pro from a Windows 8 laptop and installed it on a new Windows 8 laptop and got the error message "Invalid Serial Number." I am entitled to this installation, can someone help?

I see that the number in my Adobe Account is a MAC serial number – I purchased both the Mac and Windows versions of the program. I tried to enter the serial number of the Windows version into my account and it says it’s already registered. But when I installed the Windows version on a Windows computer I got the invalid serial number message. They have two different serial numbers! Can you help me with this?

  • Yeah..I washed my iPOD with my pants and now it died can someone help me?

So can someone help me restore it or should I start preparing for its funeral? lol but seriously please?
      Windows XP

    Here is some helpful things you can do with your washed ipod;
    1. DO NOT PLUG IT INTO YOUR COMPUTER! (sorry for the caps but that is the mst important thing to do right away
    2. place the ipod wityh the screen face down on a towel. and leave it alone for at least a week!!!! ...sorry another critical thing to do ASAP.
    3. There is no availability for free repair from apple because it was dammaged by you and it is not a manufacturers defect. so it is not covered under the warranty. If you do the previous steps right away. adn leave it alone you might not have completeyl damaged the ipod. After a week if you cant seem to get any life from it then there is nothing you can do. If you wanna try to get it repaired with your own money ....google for possible repair services.
I thnk it would be easier to just buy a new ipod though because repair can be costly adn since you washed it you have damaged the circuitry adn everything!
    Good luck

I have an iphone 3gs. It was jail broken. I reset it back to factory settings and now all i have on the screen is the apple logo.I have hooked  the phone upto itunes but nothing is happening. What do i do? Can someone help please???

Sorry, due to the Terms of Use problems with jailbroken devices can't be discussed here.
You can only get help from those people who told you to modify the software, only they know what the jailbreak did to the firmware.

  • The volume button on my ipod touch doesn't work unless headphones are plugged in?

    Hi there,
So I have had this ipod for a while now but just recently it's doing this thing where i can press the side volume buttons but they don't do anything unless the earphones are plugged in.  i have reset it a number of times and had it plugged into my computer to charge it completely and nothing works.   when i go to play music on the ipod without the headphones, the slider doesn't even show up...any suggestions??

Try restoreing the iPOd, first from backup and then to factory defaults /new iPOd if the problem persists.  If you still have the problem then you likely have a defective headphone jack.
In that case I would make an appointment at the Genisu Bar of an Apple store to confirm.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for:

A third-party place is less expensive.  Here is one, Google for more.

  • The volume control on my ipod touch 4th Gen is gone, what should I do?

It just happen to me lately, so as I open the music while my earhones are plugged,I saw that there is no volume control on my screen but the song is still playing but I can't hear anything so I remove my earphones then I plugged it again then the volume controls show. I have to do this all over again just to listen to my songs. Also, when I try to play it on loudspeaker, the volume control is missing again. I already restore my ipod but it is still the same. My OS is up to date so my itunes are. what should I do? Does somebody experiencing the same? Somebody help. Thanks

Try #2 and #3 in link below. If neither work, you most likely have a hardware issue.

  • The volume control on my iPod touch 4g is acting strange

Ok, so today the screen on my iPod turned white all of a sudden, then my dad messes with it a bit and everything seemed to be working, wrong! The volume started acting bipolar, going up and down and up and down, and then it just wud go up and no matter how much I tried to make the volume go down it wudnt. It's like someone is constantly holding down the up volume bottom, because the volume thing won't go off the screen, like hold ur volume bottom for 2 hours, that's what it's been like. How do I fix it???? Please help!
Oh, and I just got it yesterday as a bday gift, so it's brand new.

Try restarting it by holding down the on/off and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo.  If that don't work then you should take it back to Apple for a replacement.

  • Is it possible to lock the volume buttons on my iPod Touch?

Something is forcing the volume down button on my iPod down all the time. Because the volume is constantly being turned down the volume square is always up in the middle of my iPod. Rather than having to replace the whole volume down button or the whole iPod, is there a way to simply lock the volume buttons on the side of the iPod?

There is no way to lock them. I would work through the general troubleshooting outlined here to rule out the possibility of a software, although it sounds more like a hardware one.
