The way I deal with error message 1417, 1418 and 1428
Firstly, sorry for my poor English, but I would like to share with you my experience, and hope that it may helps you.
Since the release and update of iTunes 7, I have not faced any problem, but I heard a lot of articles from this forum about the errors 1417, 1418, 1428 and 50 etc. I could not make any suggestion and find a solution about it, all I could do is to copy some threads from some successful cases mentioned on this forum.
Until yesterday, I finally received a 4th Gen 20GB iPod (around 2 years old)from a friend and asked me whether I could fix it for him, which has been left untouched as a paper-weight for almost 2 months.
I tried to turn it on, and the screen was completed blank and the device looked dead. Before doing anything I prepared the following:-
1. A window based PC
2. A Mac computer
3. An USB iPod cable
4. A Firewire iPod cable
5. An iPod AC charger
As the iPod was previously formatted on a PC, therefore I tried to plug it with a PC via USB cable, it did not response and not able to get recognized by the PC. I ejected the iPod and connected with an AC charger, after a few minutes, I did a Reset for the iPod

The iPod showed an Apple sign, it stuck there for almost a minute, the screen then showed a battery with an exclamation mark sign, and after a minute, the iPod turned off itself. I was sure that the iPod carried very low battery, and could not be charged by connecting it with any computer (both Mac and PC).
I decided to let it have a charge with an AC charger for a bit longer, after 10 minute I did the Reset again, this time a sign of folder with exclamation mark showed up after the Apple sign, and again could not get recognized by a computer.
I changed my mind, and put the iPod into disk mode

Instead of connecting with a PC, I plug it with my Mac using a Firewire cable, it did not response, so I switched the cable to an USB, interestingly, the iPod got recognized and a window pop up indicating that the iPod needed to do a Restore. Therefore I clicked “Restore”, after a few seconds, an Error message pop-up with Error Message 1417, the sign that I have been waiting for quite sometime.
I ejected the iPod and the screen immediately showed a folder exclamation mark (a sign indicating a corrupted or a failure iPod OS). I am forced to put the iPod into disk mode again, connected with the Mac computer and open the Disk Utility
1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
2. Go to Tab “Partition”, click either “Delete” or “Partition”, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
3. Go to Tab “Erase” , choose Volume Format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
4. Same as step 3, but open the “Security Options....” and choose “Zero Out Data” before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
6. Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”
It managed to complete the Restore process, and started to sync with the iTunes. However, it got stuck at the song no.238 from the total of 2000. I left it for an hour, but with no process, instead the iPod became “Hot” and the iTunes showed an Error message of 1428. I ejected the iPod from my Mac computer, the iPod’s screen turn to show the famous killer icon;“The Sad iPod“.
This time it was totally dead, even failed to put it into Disk Mode and non of the computer could recognize it. Sigh, I hated to do it but I knew that I must did the following:-
Holding the iPod in my Palm, and hitting it on a surface of a Sofa with 5 attempts.
Did not surprise me, the iPod turned on and it showed the Language Menu on the screen. So, I put it into Disk Mode and connected with my window PC.
The PC showed a sign and indicated that an USB device had been connected with it. I opened the iTunes and did a Restore there.
However, an Error Message 50 showed up, but I were not worried about it, connected it back with my Mac computer with it in Disk Mode. As expected the iTunes opened and allowed me to do a Restore there.
This time it managed to complete the process and a window of register pop up. After the completed the process, the iPod started to sync with the iTunes again, which finally managed to complete the process.
I left it connecting with the AC charger overnight. In the next morning, I switched it on and have a play with it, I am so glad as it is working like a charm.
From the above experience, I would like to share it with the user the following:-
1. It always better to charge with an ac charger instead of the computer, as when an iPod carrying with very low battery, it may not able to get charge from a computer
2. Try to connect the iPod with a computer, switching between USB and Firewire
3. Try to format an iPod with HD problem, with a different kind of computer e.g. Mac or PC, as the formats are totally different, the way it formats may able to solve the bad sectors on the HD
4. It may get better chance to get your iPod recognized, if you put it in Disk Mode
I hope the following works in your case as I did.

I can't use acrobat XI at all, so ive resorted back to plain Reader X even though I pay for the Acrobat Pro. I have a new Samsung laptop with 6GB dual drive RAM and Windows 8.1 - 64 bit. That should be enough to run Acrobat

Please follow the below mentioned steps and see if that helps.
Delete all the files from following folders:
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ Adobe PCD
Launch the product and activate again with new serial number
Or you can try these as well .
Please disable protected mode and try.
Disable Enhanced Security option.
If possible, Uninstall and re-install Acrobat.

The way of dealing with the N95 maps problem sucks...

Well, so it seems that a lot of people have problem using the maploader on WinXP to get those maps on their N95s.. I'm one of those.
I'm a software developer myself - I know that those problems can arise, be complex and cost time to solve. But it seems that Nokia simply doesn't care as I don't see any FAQ entry for this problem - the only source is this forum.
AT LEAST tell us a possible workaround. Give us a way to save those maps to the harddisc and tell us where to save those files on the memory card.
I've got up-to-date components (firmware, pc suite, map loader, drivers), I tried with the connected phone or via card reader - it simply always ends up with the same result, the error about the interrupted connection described by various posts.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not angry, I'm just really annoyed by the way Nokia helps his customers with this highly acclaimed feature - I paid much money for the N95 - I don't want ending up buying tomtom or route66 again..! I even would pay the navigation fee (which by the way surely was never mentioned when reading about the GPS feature)..
So, if you can't provide loader updates in time, just tell us a workaround - where to get the maps/vocals and where to put it on the memory card, that's fine for now..! please!!

So I managed to know which .zip being downloaded via Maploader (modem connection ) using the %temp%download_temp% run command (thanks limdul !)
Then I downloaded it again directly through http://static.s2g.gate5.de/maploaderzip/0.0.7h/ (thanks jtremaine !) because it was much faster and because Maploader isn't operating through my location's proxy.
Now the problem .... Nokia Maps now only shows the globe during the loading percentage status bar. After 100%, the screen goes black and then goes directly to the city level; no more fluidic graphic transition from the globe level to the city level! Even if I zoom out, I no longer have any geographical imageries ... all the zoom out levels half way and all the way to the globe level are gone. Even when the on-line update is on, nothing happen.
In a desperate effort to restore my dear Maps to its old fluidic graphic transition from the globe level to the city level I deleted the SD's \Private\20001f63\diskcache folder, restored the last backup, restarted the phone, downloaded the latest Maps, the latest loader .......but nothing helped

Computer Rebuild - New OS - ITunes upgrade and error message 1417 on IPOD
My old WinXP Pro machine died (AFTER I deleted the NTFS file by mistake, so 100% completely my stuff-up)...so I rebuilt it and installed Windows Vista instead (yeah I know...!).
Now, as I had to rebuild from scratch, I lost everything except my i-tunes library and all my docs which I kept on a separate drive...thankfully
So, rebuilding I decide to install I-Tunes 7.0.1.8 ... no probs, can see my library, can see my Ipod.
But i-tunes then tells me there is an update to theI-Pod software itself, which I decide to install. It bombs out everytime with an Unknown Error installing v1.2 (Error message 1417).
Any clues please?
Also, when ripping some new CDs I bought into I-tunes, where it used to take, say, 30 secs/song it now takes 4 or 5 minutes....
thoughts on that one too?

One of the IDOCs has an specific error message (status 51 Idoc not posted)
Dear Experts,
ple. provide the solution for my issue.
In my list of compaines one of the company had an external partner(warehouse) who takes care of their products.
Communication between that external partner software and my system(PVS) is happen through IDOCs.
But one of the IDOCs has an specific error message ( status 51 and status text : Specification for units and quantites containe error),
acctually we are receiving picking meterials from the external system to my system.
I can able to see the Inbound Idoc and status, I am not able to see the Outbound Idoc, then how can I test why its happening this problem and I how can I give the analysis properly please suggest me.

Welcome to SDN. Adding to Jürgen Comment, Just double click on status 51 (at node), then in next screen there will be one information (long text) button, just click on it. Some times it will give good details about the error. the information can also suggest direct trasaction to correct the customization, some times!

Your ipad is in recovery mode.
You need to connect it to a computer running itunes as indicated. -

Lets say I have:

I get "0.10000000000000009".
What's the best way to deal with this so that i get the right result?
Using the trick: result = Math.round( result * Math.pow(10,13) ) / Math.pow(10,13); is not useful as such when using big numbers.
For example, If number1 = 100000000001.1, and number2 = 0.2, I get "100000000000.90001" as result. The previous rounding fixes rounding errors after 13th decimal, but here the first rounding errors come after 4 digits.
The toPrecision method in Number and NumberFormatter dont seem be of use by themselves because of the same reason.
So I'd have to check how big the number is, and then round the number based on that.
So far I've constructed a method that does that with logarithms like this:

I think there really should be a pre-built method in flex for something like this, but I can't find any.
Anyone know any better/faster ways?Use the application server database pooling services to create a datasource that can be access using JNDI.
Move the database access code to a Servlet so that a JSP submits a form to the Servlet that does the database access and packages the data into a bean which is passed to another JSP to be displayed. -

My question refers to the forms in which there is a binary question such as:
"Are you interested in travel?"
When the user clicks "Yes", there are further questions whose interactive fields are dot.hidden (or "!"), depending on the answer.
So far, I can handle the 1-level cases fine, but my doubt is how to implement nested dependencies. For the sake of simplicity, I would prefer to define the cause-effect relationship once ("Every time the 'Interested in Travel' box is checked, the field 'International or Domestic' should be visible") and send some sort of message/trigger downstream.
I would like the right things to happen (cascading triggers included) when the "Clear Form" menu command is selected.
Are those desirable features available in JavaScript (the particular JS used by the traditional AcroForms)?
Maybe I should look into C/C++ programming?

The "Clear Form" menu item, of course, would be equivalent to the reset button.
Perhaps it is possible to hook my code onto the "Clear Form" menu item?

Further down in that Stack Trace in the error message, it should show you which line of code (complete with a line number) started the problem. You haven't displayed the whole thing, so we can't say much more than that without further information.

Photo Sweeper can scan several libraries or folders at the same time and display the duplicates side by side to let you pick which to keep. You can define rules to mark photos for automatic deletion as well.
