The WEIRDEST behavior ever
This is the weirdest behavior i've ever seen in 8 years using
CF. My CF 7.0.2/Win2003 AS/Jrun is hanging everyday. Sometimes it
dies 8:10, sometimes 8:20.... sometimes processor % is 50%,
sometimes is 0%. It's impossible to restart only CF, we need to
reboot the machine. I put the simultaneous requests to 64,
sometimes it hangs using 32, sometimes 63, sometimes 64.
Perfmon
Shot 1 - Hangin at 27 running requests, Simul. set to 48, no
queues, no timeouts, not a daamn clue.

Shot 2 - today... running requests at 45 (simultaneous to 64
max...??) processor time dropped to zero?
We have timeouts on every CFFTP and CFHTTP, now we're
finishing putting timeouts on every cfquery...
1) We thought it was those damn unresponsive threads, but
nothing is scheduled to run at this particular timeframe.
2) We thought it might me a RAR application compressing
database backup... NOPE, rar was rescheduled to 8:45 and CF died
ate 8:10 this morning..
3) We've been having this everyday...
4) Database is running on a separate server, perfmon is
telling me its running smooth, although it looks like db server
isn't responding...
4) Overall timeout set to 60sec, individual database timeout
30sec. CFHHTP/CFFTP timeouts, 20-30 sec.
I'll be checking for network problems and etc. but there's a
question pending answer: Why da hell CF is going thru the roof in
simultaneous requests and hanging and queue is zero (we had a
1-second 10 queues peak once) and its not timeouting.
BKBK, im really sorry for this, i haven't noticed the adult

thinking, this is a damn free image hosting site, im not earning
nothing form it. feel free to update an image there and see how it
works...
Sadikh, i've spotted a schedule ending near hang times, it
consists in a big cfloop with tons of cfhttps inside. thanks for
your reply, got your idea, it seems to be the right approach. Since
I believe I could isolate the problem, now i'll focus on triggering
the weird behavior.

Any way to get the old behavior of "Hyperdraw Other"
In Logic 4.7 one could type ^Command-O to bring up a dialog, then simply type in a controller number and RETURN. That's all you needed to do to hyperdraw any arbitrary controller.
In Logic 7 you type ^Command-O which brings up a long list. No text entry box. You are then forced to use your mouse to scroll waaaay down the list to the controller you want. To add insult to injury you are then forced to use the mouse again to click on the close box to close the window. Yes, this is one of those nifty new-fangled windows without a "CLOSE WINDOW" key command.
Is there any way to replicate the old behavior of Hyperdraw >Other?
I don't want to rant but it seems to me that the speedy interface of logic 4.7 has given way to uber-bloat in logic 7. I hope this isn't the general direction things are going.Hi K,

Probably not, since I made every upgrade along the way, though skipped a lot of V5's primetime.
In my opinion once you start adding up a bunch of "nowhere near as terrible"s and your forced to do them again and again day after day they add up to one big terrible.
Agreed - but some adaption is of course to be expected (at least, IMO). Some is for the better, some is for the worse. Overall, I find the workflow faster with 7 than 4 but again, my memory is not as vivid as yours.

a while ago I wanted to buy an album but I didn't have enough space on my phone, (iPhone 4) so I deleted some things off my phone and downloaded the album. well ever since then all my other music won't play, only that one album will play. 1, you can't at the moment, though with iOS 5 in the Autumn, from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos :
Even organize your photos in albums — right on your device
2, by removing it from you synced from and re-syncing. Only photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad (either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view)
3, the location of the photos that you synced to the iPad should be listed on the iPad's Photos tab when connected to your computer's iTunes.
4, you can copy the photos from your iPad to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 . You should also be able to delete them from the iPad as part of the transfer process to your computer, and it's then your choice whether to add them to your sync photo list so as to copy them back to the iPad. Copying them to your computer would allow you to organise them into folders and therefore be able to sync them back into separate albums.
5, I don't use Dropbox either. There are some third-party browser apps in the iTunes App Store that allow you to download pages so that you can view them when offline e.g. Atomic Web (the whole page is saved within Atomic Web, it doesn't place a photo into the Photos app)
6, deleting content should help. If you remove an app from your iPad then you also remove the content that it's got on the iPad - so if you then decide to reinstall it back onto the iPad then you will need to manually add back any content that you want in it. None of the Apple built-in apps (including Photos) can be removed from the iPad -

I have a few Solaris 10 production machines here at work and had a strange thing happen. I added a new route to these machines using the "add route <destination > <gateway>" command and my web applications running in the zones on these machines froze up. The applications that froze had no reason to do this as they have never talked to the machine in this new route. Here is the old route table via netstat -rn:

My question is why did my application die and need to be restarted after this one simple route was added? What is the expected behavior in a zone after adding a new route to the root zone?

Yes, they told me I should contact apple, but apple hasn't helped me either! The iHome has worked perfectly all along and it still is working it has power just will not connect anymore to play my music.

I just downloaded the newest reconfigured version of iTunes, and for the first time ever my content is all screwed up. Specifically, all of my playlists are gone, so are my apps. The good news is that my music library is intact and that I've got more than one device with everything as it should be on them; the bad news is that my PC does not recognise my devices and keeps defaulting to " lets sync your devices to this new computer loose all of the playlists I've spent years compiling". I don't get it. Any ideas?

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

What should the"default behavior" be for WiFi network connections?
I Have been able to at least temporarily fix the plethora of problems encountered after downloading Mountain Lion to my 2009 17" MBP just ten days ago. Thanks to the time and effort of so many posters that are much more savvy than me, I successfully executed the steps suggested in many of the posts and with good results. It surely beats running down to the Apple store and being told that I am the only one with a problem.
Okay, I've realized that I don't really know what the default behavior of the WiFi network connection should be?
Specifically:
Should the Wi-Fi drop down in Network always be" looking for networks", even though I am obviously on my Network?
Should the Wi-Fi be connected at all times even when your computer is in sleep mode- or deep sleep mode? There have been so many problems with Wi-Fi dropping off,slow or hanging loads, etc.
I unchecked "ask to join networks, in Network preferences thinking it might stop looking for networks when it doesn't need to because I'm already on mine. I do see my neighbors (four neighbors) in the drop down in Network.
How do you get into Time Capsule's settings, to check speeds, especially ping? What should the ideal settings be?
How do you know if your DHCP license is renewed? I've heard that feature isn't working and may be the culprit to some of the Wi-Fi problems.
I'll look forward to your help in understanding more about this. I've been in the support area a lot lately, I've read plenty of definitions, and explanations of the different options to choose from in Apple's support area, but nowhere have I seen anything that explains what the default behavior should be or perform like.
Thanks, as always.Generally, you don't want to tweak the wifi settings. It pretty much takes care of itself. The caveat to that is, of course, if you're experiencing problems.
The 'looking for networks' behaviour only happens when you log in, wake the mac from sleep OR when you click on the wifi icon. You clicking on it tells the mac "I want to see what networks are available" - so it does a scan for you to check to see if any new networks have appeared since you last clicked on it (or woke/logged in). In short, if you don't want it to look for new networks, don't click on the icon!
Unchecking the 'ask to join networks' option only applies when your mac detects a new network (such as when it wakes) that you haven't already authorised; it'll ask you to confirm whether you want to join it or not. Otherwise, if the network is open it'll join automatically. You should keep this selected if you travel around with your Mac. It's a good idea to know what network you're on before you start plugging in passwords or typing other things into the mac.
There is a utility that you can use for ping and traceroute called 'Network Utility'. Click on the Spotlight icon in the top right of your screen and type "Network' and you should see it at the top of the list. Hit 'return' to open it.
DHCP licences are normally renewed automatically by your router every 24 hours. Again, there's no reason to be messing about with that unless you're experiencing problems.
If you're experiencing wifi dropout, let us know, and we'll make some suggestions, but if you're not, you're best leaving your mac to manage the background processes. It knows what it's doing!

I updated to an iphone5 and only a few of my photos came in from the photostream how ever all of the are still on my iPad?! How do I get the rest of the photos over to my iphone5?!
First of all, photo stream only saves up to 1000 photos and up to 30 days before they are deleted. The only thing you can do at this point is to sync the photos from the ipad to a computer and then sync to the iphone 5.

I am trying to restrict access to a page by redirecting unauthorized users to another page. The Adobe manual instructs me to:
Open the page you want to protect.
In the Server Behaviors panel (Window > Server Behaviors), click the Plus button and select User Authentication > Restrict Access To Page from the pop‑up menu.
I opened the page and went to the Server Behaviors panel.
Unfortunately, the Plus button is greyed out and not operational. How do I make the Plus button operational so that I can then select User Authentication, etc?
CharlieYou can't apply server behaviors to pages that don't contain (or are specified to be when they are created) server scripting. That means they must have the proper filename extension, e.g., filename.php or filename.aspx/

Is that the normal behavior of ImageReader?
When javax.imageio.ImageReader reads frames of an optimized animated gif (where only the changes in each frame are saved), it will only return a small portion of the image when it falls on an optimized frame. So let's say an animation has the size 50x50, ImageReader.read(...) will return BufferedImages of varying lengths due to the optimization. Is that the normal behavior, or should it build up the complete image back itself? If I should be responsible to reconstitute the image, then anyone knows how I should go about it?

DalzhimProbably. The GIF will only basically have partial frames after the first, or where the entire frame changes. That would suggesst that the class can't really handle that type of GIF in a way that it would recreate each frame based on the previous one(s). I'm not sure that it's a bug, though. It could be intentional, as it just gives the images that are there, and nothing more or less, letting the user deal with them. I would imagine you could overlay them to get the right effect?

What is the expected behavior in iOS 7.x when hitting send on an email with no wifi or cell connection being present? Also is the behavior designed to be any different if the user intiates airplane mode ahead of time?
We have a couple of users that claim in this situation the email will act like it sent in which they expect it will go out once a network connection is restored. They then come to find the recipient never recieved it and that it does not show in sent email. Its merely lost and they claim its also not in drafts.
I would hope the expected behavior would be that it would either retry sending once network connectivity is restored or at least warn that it needs to be saved as a draft since no connection is present.It should show "X unsent messages" at the bottom of the mail app.
It also should create an outbox where the unsent emails will queue up, but this could also vary on the email provider.
Once you re connect to a network, it should just send the messages
