Ok so I have an iPhone 3G 16GB. Worked fine for 2 weeks. I call a friend today from London to Holland, he doesnt hear me. Must be his phone right? Wrong..
I just found out my microphone works when I call people in the UK, but won't work when I call outside the UK. However, if people from outside the UK call me, it does work!! Then they hear me fine. When I call them, they can't hear anything.
What the **** is going on??? Anyone???

When you take a look at your phone in the top right, next to the battery life indicator, do you see just to the left of it an icon that appears to be a phone on top of a keyboard? If so, you have the TTY indicator set, and this creates the problem you describe. To turn it off, go to Settings, Phone, and then in the Calls Section, you can turn off the TTY option.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like you have no service on the iPhone. It looks like you have already done some troubleshooting. There is one step you did not mention trying that i think is worth trying.
If you see No Service in the status bar of your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Remove the SIM card. If the SIM card is damaged, worn, or bent, or if it's too big or small for the SIM tray, contact your carrier for a new one. Then reinsert the SIM card.

After continued investigation by several members of our engineering team for the past few months we have found that the Effects Preview lock-up is caused by an altered version of the Audition executable file. If you have replaced the original Audition.exe which was installed by the Audition installer (including the trial version) you will experience this side-effect. We have verified that this bug does not exist with the released version of Audition and will only occur in cases where the user has replaced the Audition.exe with this altered version.
To resolve this issue we suggest that you delete this altered Audition.exe file and replace it with the original. If this is unsuccessful we advise you to uninstall Audition and re-install with an Adobe issued serial number.
If you continue to have problems please send an email to [email protected] with an explanation of the problem, your serial number, and a copy of your Audition system information report which can be found by going to Help > About and clicking the System Info. button.

I posted this in another topic, so I thought would paste it here as well.
Okay I feel I must share this with you folks even though the whole thing was an error on my part, so anyway we have by now all heard of the AA3 vst freeze problem, well last night I wiped my HD clean and did a whole new install, because I am using an AA3 upgrade from AA 1.5 I have to install both apps, so I did this last night and reinstalled both apps, and again I got the VST freeze, but the bug wasn't in AA3 something happened with 1.5, so I reinstalled 1.5 and then ran the repair wizard on 3 and I cannot get the VST freeze no matter how hard I try, when ever I went through the motions of reinstalling 3 on various comps, I never bothered to uninstall and reinstall 1.5, I realize this is more of a major user error (namely me)
but it works now! I think that perhaps for those of us using upgrades from 1.5 something down the road broke and it effected AA3 maybe a windows update or something, but man it feels good to have it up and running, Long live AA, anyway I would be curious as to how many people this is happening to are using upgrades as well. Anyway if you want more info on what I did, just ask.

UPDATE, not only did this clear up my VST freeze, but also a list of other minor issues, such as disappearing presets, Sound Lag when sweeping an EQ, Compressor pops, extra long load times, clicks when recording, multi track editing issues, my total re-install solved a long list of things,

I sent my macbook to the apple store because of the Kernal panic and got it back yesterday

I am no expert, but I did not see anything that I recognize as "the problem." In cases like this, diagnosing kernel panics is a step-by-step process. Start by disconnecting all peripherals and restart the Mac to see if the problem goes away. If the problem remains, continue with the next suggestion and repeat until you find the problem. Then you will know what to fix.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the iPod backup that iTunes makes.

Iphone mic problem

People can't hear me either when they call me or when I call them.
I tested other apps that utilize the microphone – voice memo works, recording video records both audio and video.
However, when I am making/receiving a call – people can't hear me.
What can be the problem?
Even when i connect my phone via bluetooth to my car it doesn't work.

I'm wondering if one of you nice folks with a new iPhone can check and see if the new gadget can stream RTSP files (audio and video) in real-time from a QuickTime Streaming Server? I will run a test all weekend for you to use. You can access this streaming file at: http://tec.streamguys.net/tec.sdp It is a rebroadcast of The Education Channel in Tampa, Florida. It is being encoded using an Apple Xserve running QuickTime Broadcaster and using the default 3G/GPRS preset. I am keeping the bandwidth low, around 56K. All I get on my "old-fashioned" iPhone is a play symbol with a line trough it. Although, this works fine with Safari on a Mac. I was told earlier this was an EDGE issue and that 3G would support this. anyone confirm that? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply... I've been asking this question for months now and that was the FIRST response from anyone at all. I figured it didn't. That's a shame to because Apple makes really great FREE software for streaming RTSP (QuickTime Broadcaster). Anyways, I too have heard of some apps doing some type of streaming, but at a cost of the loss of the ability to receive phone calls. No good. I need to be able to "monitor" a RTSP stream for lengths of time AND be able to receive phone calls. And I need to be able to do this OFF WIFI of course. In WiFi situations, I'd just use a computer for this. I was really hoping the iPhone would be my mobile answer for this. It seems everything must be NOT LIVE to work, that is everything must be simply a QuickTime Progressive download. That's ok for short archived stuff, but for live and long files, forget it. Shame. I'm starting to think this is a "Content Provider" issue and not a technical hurdle of some kind. My old Samsung blade phone could (can) stream RTSP. Maybe the thought of allowing live streaming threatens the bottom end for some of these providers (?).

Why is the google tool bar not compatable with 5.o? Will it be soon? If not can I unistall 5.0 until it is compatable. I need the googl tool bar and you guys just ruined my day with this upgrade!

Unfortunately it has consequences of not being able to use Microsoft product email applications properly. As seen in a newsgroup without a reference a Google document. Which might explain why they are working on an Internet Explorer solution first.

The Weirdest XML/Actionscipt Problem Ever

OK, so here's the setup:
I have a SWF that's pulling in images, text and links from
multiple XML docs. I have another SWF on the same page above that
that's the nav for the SWF below. I have 5 sections and all but one
"works properly."
When the nav btn is clicked, it uses LocalConnection (pretty
sure this isn't the problem) to load in two separate XML files for
two different sections in the SWF below. There is a secondary menu
and a video player menu. The video player menu XML also holds the
info to change a featured image and text.
OK, the problem is this:
All of the XML files work save one...the largest one creates
16 buttons for the secondary menu, but when clicked it doesn't load
the feature image and text, and won't allow them to be loaded for
any of the other menu items from there on out.
I can change the XML to just 13 button nodes and it's fine,
but the second I add one more back in, it breaks and does what I
described above. Am I crazy or has anyone else had this sort of
problem?
