Nah. Raw support is version specific and that extends to Bridge as well. Older versions simply won't handle new cameras. If this is important to you, you will have to use Bridge CC.

  • Preview panel loses Color Management after Minimize Bridge CS5

Whenever I minimize the Bridge CS5 application window to the Windows taskbar, upon restoring or maximizing the Bridge application window the image(s) currently showing in the Preview panel no longer appear color managed (they look exactly as they would appear from a non-color-managed app.)  In order to see them as color managed again, I have to either de/re-select their thumbnails or double click the Preview panel twice (once to minimize it, and once again to restore it.)  Otherwise resizing the Preview panel has no impact on the color.  The thumbnails in the Content panel are fine.  This did NOT occur in CS4 or earlier versions of Bridge - otherwise the same environment.
I have a wide-gamut monitor, which causes many non-color-managed images to look super saturated, especially reds & greens, so it is probably much easier to notice this behavior in this environment than from a typical-gamut monitor.
Windows 7, x64, ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card, Bridge v4.0.3.9
    Anyone else notice this annoyance?

    Thanks Curt,
I doubt this is a video issue as no other versions of Bridge behave this way on this system.  I have the same preference settings in Bridge CS5 as for Bridge CS4 - which works fine.  Nor does Photoshop exhibit this behavior post-minimizing, & Photoshop behaves perfectly for all the OpenGL Drawing settings (which I have set to Advanced in PS.)  Bridge just seems to poorly manage the Preview panel color post-minimizing the application window, but otherwise everything displays fine during operation.  I'd be surprised if it was just me but if it is, it's an easy enough annoyance to work around.  I'd imagine that this isn't too observable on a normal-gamut monitor.
I tried your suggestion of  "use software rendering", just in case, but it made no difference.  Appreciate the idea though...
    One more observation:
While thumbnails are being generated for the first time on large images, they also have the non-color-managed appearance until they complete their generating, at which time they take the managed appearance - but I just consider that a processing-timing final step & it hasn't changed behavior from previous versions of Bridge.

  • How can i get the same colors in PS and Bridge

My pictures is shown with stronger contrast and saturation in bridge than the original PS file in PS.
Im trying to open the Suite Color Management in Bridge but it says that "Suite Color Management requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least onc to enable this feature". What shoud I do?

Remember that Photoshop is showing you a rendering of the original file, while Bridge is showing you a rendering of the sRGB preview Bridge itself generates.  Color management plays a huge role in that depending on whether the file is tagged (has an embedded profile) or not.
As for the illusory "Suite Color Management", Trevor is right in pointing out that it is utterly irrelevant if you only have Photoshop and Bridge but none of the other  applications in a suite.  Besides…
…Inconsistency between or among applications in the artificial "suites" should come as no surprise.
The "suite" concept is a fabrication of Adobe marketing and bean-counting types.  The engineering teams are totally independent of each other, they are not only in different buildings but in different cities and states of the American Union, even in different countries.
The fact that they have little if any communication among them is highlighted by requests occasionally made in these forums by top Adobe engineers to let the other teams know when there are problems in one application that impact our workflow in another one.

  • How can I use the presets which were generated in Bridge (CS5) so I can use them in Lightroom 4

I currently have 30 + presets which I have generated in Bridge and when I open the same photograph in Lightroom 4 it appears that the inform from the preset has not come across bridge to appear in lightroom. What have I done wrong or missed?
    Thanks for your assistance
    Peter

If you read the metadata from the file into Lightroom you can then use that file's metadata to create a Lightroom Metadata preset.
You'll have to do it uniquely for each of your 30 presets but presumably still quicker than creating LR presets from scratch.
And probably best to do it on dummy files and check you've only got the metadata you want before saving it as a new preset..(or at least before applying the newly created preset.to many, many files!)

    Hi All,
    I've loaded an image.bmp by t.code SE78
Then I've emploied it in a sapscript.
Launched the print, the withe of the image has become grey
    Why did it happen?
    Thanks

    Hello,
From the True Color graphics only 24 bit True Colors graphics are
    supported by SAP.
So check if your image is a true color bitmap with 16,7 millions (24
BitsPerPixel) colors. The SAP has to convert it to a bitmap with 256
colors during the upload. Here the colors can slightly change.
Please decrease the color depth of the image and upload in your system
    again.
Maybe the result will be much better after this.

  • How do i change the background color from black to blue on architectural drawing?

I inverted the background color from white to black, and the black lines from black to white using the Invert tool under Adjustments.  But now I want to change the black color to blue to give it a more vintage "blueprint" look. I'm using CS4.

There are often many ways to do things, and c.pfaffenbichler's suggestion above is good.
However, as I'm very fond of Curves, I'd use Image - Adjust - Curves (or Layer - New Adjustment Layer - Curves) myself, and pull the black point of the blue curve up.

  • Sharing collections in Bridge CS5?

Does anybody know if I can share a collection w/ someone else if we are on the same server of images, using Bridge CS5? It would seem to be a no-brainer, right?
    Thanks, y'all...

At first glance the answer would be "that is what the purpose of networks are--to share data".  But you might have to check the help files on Bridge to see how it reacts over the network, whether two people can access the same file at the same time, especially with video, and what would happen if one of those people updated the file--what would become of the file that the second person is using--would it automatically update?  In the event they were using Linked Images such as in Illustrator I guess that would work pretty well but the communication needs to be open between the file users to see who will update what.  I do not know if Bridge has a legend or key that displays when a file has been changed by one person on the network.  There are other Adobe network-shared programs that do have this feature although the name of the product escapes me--it's one of their document products.

  • Bridge CS5 won't open at all, crashes immediately

    Hi you guys,
I have been using Photoshop CS5 for a number of months now, without any problems. Yesterday, just suddenly, Bridge just bombed out. And I mean it crashes completely, not even a spinning ball or a 'stop responding', it just disappears from the screen. The first time the crash generated an Apple Crash Report, as well as an Adobe one. After that, when I click on the Bridge icon, it bounces, no dot appears on the dock under the icon and after a while the icon stops bouncing and another Apple Crash Report gets generated. It does not generate an Adobe crash report because, I suspect, the program does not go far enough.
    I have tried the following:
Option clicked the B Icon - straight to Apple crash report.
Open B in PS, PS works perfectly and stays operational, but B generates an Apple crash report. I also tried mini B, the dock opens with message "waiting for Bridge", and nothing further happens.
Checked permissions in my Library for the following, all well:
    Caches/Adobe/Bridge CS5
    Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CS5
    com.adobe.bridge4.plist file
Verified and repaired permissions in DU, just in case. No luck.
Created a new user account and tried to open B - straight to Apple crash report.
Deleted the PLIST file and the items in Cashes (as suggested in another tread)  - straight to Apple crash report.
I have not yet tried a reinstall. I upgraded to CS5 from CS3 and I still have it sitting on my hard drive. In a previous thread I asked what to do with CS3 and the consensus was to leave well alone. Everything worked and I did not need the disk space. In fact, Bridge CS3 still opens without a problem. If a reinstall is necessary, how do I go about it then? Do I
deregister CS3 and CS5 and uninstall and reinstall the whole lot?
deregister and uninstall and reinstall CS5 only?
don't deregister and just reinstall the whole lot without uninstalling it first?
don't deregister and just reinstall CS5 only without uninstalling it first?
And if I have to uninstall, do I have to run one or all of the cleanup utilities of Adobe?
I have also not contacted Adobe help because I have an American copy of Photoshop and live in Europe. That disqualifies me from Adobe support.
    Here is my system:

    Hi guys,
Thanks for your time and trouble. Much appreciated.
I haven't been back because my iMac went from bad to worse and in the end I've had a complete system crash. The 2007 iMac G5 I have, is notorius for screen problems. Mine went pop in 2009 after only 18 months of use and was replaced by Apple after a war of words and overwhelming evidence of similar problems for that model on the internet. During that episode the machine was shut down with the power button several times, by me, by the shop and also by the technicians who had to diagnose and repair the computer (I have often wondered why Apple does not have an equivalent of the 'Windows' button, because via that it's easy to shut down a PC blind: Windows button>U>Return . . . the OS shuts down. Not clever of a company who regards themselves as 'Quality' with a self proclaimed capital Q). I suspect my computer picked up some hardware damage with the constant hard shutdowns. I was actually waiting for the next problem, I never really trusted the machine completely. But, as time passed, I got relaxed about it and did not notice the small signs developing like Bridge (and to a lesser extent, Photoshop) actually slowing down more and more the last couple of weeks. Now, in retrospect I can say that, but it was really very subtle. I did, after the screen episode, got into a routine of backing up my system regularly.
After the Bridge problem began, I tried a re-install, a Time Machine restore and eventually started fiddling with Disk Utility, trying to fix the hard drive. To make a long story short, all I get now when I power up the machine is a white screen with a spinning disk under the Apple emblem. I do know that the internal hard drive had issues because that was reported by Disk Utility, I still do not know what the damage is because I still have to take the machine in for repairs.
In the meantime, I am working on another iMac. I have installed all my software from scratch and I'm now trying to restore my old system - my PS actions, ACR actions, all my mails and other documents and my music. The problem I now have is that I had my user account encrypted with File Vault, while backing up with Time Machine. To everyone doing that, please don't - turn File Vault off and then back up. All my carefully backed-up files are now encrypted and can only be accessed with my broken computer! I can NOT restore my system to another computer! With older versions of Mac OS X (and, probably Time Machine), it's possible to use Finder to navigate to the encrypted back-up folder, double-click it and access your data with your master password and restore it by simply dragging and dropping the files on the new computer (but under no circumstances delete or change the back-up files in any way! And applications would, most probably not drag and drop without a problem, but there I stand to be corrected). With OS X 10.6 it is not possible any more to access data via Finder in that way. I know, because I can access my data up to end 2009, the rest is there but not accessible. I have searched everywhere on the internet and as yet, have not found a solution.
The other problem with Apple, I found out, is that in normal operations, it works so well and all is so easy that I don't really read any instructions. There is no need. Everything just happens, it's actually too intuitive. Not once, while setting up File Vault or Time Machine, was I warned that it might be a problem. Now, when I poke around on the internet, there are many posts that warn against that but I did not search for them because I had no clue! I just hope, after the faulty parts on my G5 is replaced, I can get into my back-ups. I shall keep searching and trying to find a solution. If I get one, I shall post here again for those of you with similar problems. I know this is no longer a Bridge or Adobe problem, I just thought I must report back, maybe the knowledge will help someone else.
    Cheers,
    Jay

  • CS6 64 bit (for windows) installation keeps telling me to shut down Bridge CS5 which isn't running.

I've checked the Windows 7 Task Manager and Bridge CS5 does not appear.  Can someone help with what I'm to do so I can finish the install?

This error occurs when Adobe Bridge is configured to start at login, so it is running in the background.

  • Subpicture comes up the wrong color

    Hello,
I created a subpicture in photoshop (using the (=1) trigger) for my dvd. The item is a black guitar pick that is to display behind a button (example: PLAY) when the button is highlighted. When checking the dvd (file > preview) the subpicture is coming up white (a white guitar pick). What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to change the color of the subpicture (guitar pick) in encore?
    Thanks!

I've followed my Encore guide to change the subpicture highlights for a button. In the Color Set preview window everything looks great. When I click the buttons allowing you to check the subpicture layers of a button in the menu window the colors look great. When I preview the DVD in Encore the subpicture layer shows up white. The intended color is blue, but I can't seem to fix the problem. I created the subpictures, buttons, menu etc in photoshop and the subpicture (a guitar pick for a music video dvd menu) was created black. Upon import it became white. It was created black, yet shows up white in Encore. I changed the subpicture to blue to see if I liked the results better, and yet again comes up white.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you!
