The white backround is showing in my transparent gif.

Ok so I have all the publish settings set to transparent and the symbols themselves have no backround, but the image is still coming up as if it has a background. There is like a big white box in the back of it. How do i fix this? None of my symbols have white background at all.

click your on-stage gif (to select it), click modify>bitmap>trace bitmap. after selecting the settings that meet your needs, click the gif's white background (to select it) then click backspace to remove it. continue until everything you want removed, is removed.

When I turn my MacBook Pro on, the white apple screen shows up with loading circle, but doesn't go from this screen. Why?

Start your MBP holding the OPTION key. This should show two HDD icons. Select the one on the right, the RECOVER icon. This should display a four option menu. Select Disk Utility and repair the disk.
If no success, the the only other avenue is is a reinstall of the OS.

How to eliminate or customise the White preloader with Edge content in DPS apps.

I am looking for a possible solution with the White Preloader Page when creating an IPA via Indesign.
The content is fully created in Adobe Edge Animate, then its published HTML is placed via the Indesign Folio Overlay. Then via the DPS APP BUILDER converted to an IPA, this is working fantastic !!
.. but..
When the app is launched on the iPad there is always, always the white preload screen with the spinning wheel for a few instances.
Tried to customize the preloader screen in Edge but the White screen will show first, then the custum preload screen and then the content.
Also tried to modify directly the HTML but no luck, there is always the White screen with the spinning wheel.
Somebody got any idea how to hide this White Screen ? Or how to customise this ?

I'm not sure what you mean by IPA but are you using the HTML files from Edge or the .oam file. You know that the .oam file is much easier to use than the HTML files from Edge when being used in DPS. You know you can create a poster image directly in Edge as well that is not white. You can also take the posterimage.png file from the image folder and bring it into Photoshop and delete everything and save it as a transparent .png and replace it. That way what ever is behind the animating shows through. Just a suggestion.

White lines around transparent gifs

I've tried without success to eliminate the thin white line
that appears around my transparent gifs in Fireworks. Does anyone
know how to achieve this?

The problem is how GIFs render transparency. What might help
is to change the "matte" color found in the Optimize panel. It's
probably set to white. Set it to match the background color of
wherever the GIF is going to go.
Because GIFs can't have semi-transparency, then anti-aliased
(smoothed) edges basically have to have a background color baked
into those pixels, that's what the matte color it. However, if you
use PNG32 or PNG8 with Alpha Transparency, it will remain smooth.
The only problem is the same problem with most things on the web:
Internet Explorer. Alpha Transparency doesn't work in Internet
Explorer 6 or below, without using some crazy hacks you'd have to
google for.

I created an animated text on the main timeline. Then I exported it as an animatd-gif with transparent check. The resulting gif is not transparent, the background is the color of the stage.
How can make a transparent gif without the stage coloring?

First let me apologize for posting a reply that was only suitable for advanced users. Photoshop is broad and powerful therefore has a huge learning curve. In fact I would state no one knows and uses all of Photoshop. When we first get Photoshop it intimidate us and we're very uncomfortable using it. Many thing are not intuitive there in much learning involved. After some time we begin to know something and we are able to do some thing. Learning become rapid and we start playing in Photoshop. It is very important to play with Photoshop. Playing with Photoshop and asking for help with in forums like this IMO is the best way to learn.
Photoshop Power lies in layers, selection and automation. However it takes knowledge to use photoshop well so most powerful tool you have ins Photoshop is the gray matter between your ears. Most at one time or another want to watermark or put a logo on their image. So its best to automate this process. All run into a problem in the process. "Size" We find our assets vary in size and aspect ratios. Landscape, Portraits, Panoramas and others. This complicates automation. Vector graphics works best when size vary greatly. If you can not work out how to create a vector solution like a custom shape. Create your Logo and watermark large thing scale down better the up. Text scale well for text uses vectors graphics however if you rasterize text it will not scale well.
I do not type or do English well so let me do some screen captures. I can not stress enough how important Black, White, Grays and Blending is when it come to image processing. Become friends with Multiply, Screen, Overlay and Luminosity blending.....
However when there is a white or black background though you can blend them you can not add a style like a drop shadow, emboss or make it invisible setting fill to 0 so only the style is visible. When there is contrast between the logo and background it is easy to separate the two. To select the background and delet it to have the logo with a transparent background. Many tools can be used to create the selection hee I use my action kill white.
Vector Shape would work better for scaling However it would be best to create the logo from scratch in a vector program like illustrator but I never had the resources to justify the Creative suite. I only had Photoshop. Recently Adobe gave me and other a year subscription to the creative suite for our participation here. I still have not installed anything but Photoshop, A while back I found a program that can create vector patf for black and white art work. It will not be as good as using something like illustrator. Once you have a proven, working Charger... Charge the Device for a couple of hours. Then try to turn it on.
If no joy...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
If the issue persists...
Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...
Be sure to make an appointment first...

Save for Web is not displaying white text, only showing the drop shadow of a vector.

I just updated Illustrator this morning and now having this issue. I have two logos on the artboard. Both are filled with white, both have the same small drop shadow. The both show up on the artboard, but when I try to save for web or export into a .jpeg the white doesn't fill in on one logo, but it does on the other.
Anyone have any ideas on a fix?

How do I Remove The Play button & White Screen that shows on the IPad?

Can anyone tell me how to remove the play button that apears on a white screen before the course starts? it only shows on the iPad and if this is going to be published as an IOS app using phone gap build i dont want this to show.
I have found some javascript that i have tried but it dosent seem to remove the white screen or browser warning does anyone know the correct javascript to use?
