The White Box

I have Flash Player 9 installed on my XP operating system. I
also have a website that I designed with the "Yahoo Sitebuilder". I
have been trying to incorperate Flash Player 9 into my website with
no success. I followed the instructions from both the Flash Player
and the Sitebuilder. I copied the HTML code, pasted it into the
home page of the sitebuilder and published as directed. Each time a
"White Box" appeared on the website with no activity. Yahoo tech
support says that the problem is the HTML code has to be edited
because the code the Flash Player is generating is causing the
flash not to work on the site.
Does anyone have any suggestions to help solve this problem?

You are asking in the wrong forum but the answer is that you the layer mask isn't automatically added when you create a layer. The authors of the tutorials are pressing the add layer mask button at the bottom of the layers palette. The CS5 Help page I have linked below shows where to locate this button.

Note: You can not add a layer mask to a locked background.
Edit: A mask does appear automatically if the author is adding an adjustment layer. The adjustment layers with mask are accessed in the layers palette under the black and white icon. If you do an adjustment from the menu bar the mask does not appear. Maybe, this is where you are getting confused. Info about adjustment layers and where they can be found in CS5 are linked below.

Plagued by the white box

i'm trying to embed a flash game i've made onto a tumblr page, and when i first enter the code and update the page the game works, but as soon as i leave and come back or refresh the page it's the white box.
my swf file is hosted on google sites, and my embed code looks like this:

i'm using tumblr because i can freely edit the page's entire code without paying for a premium membership
also i used stencyl to make the game because i don't actually have flash

That will get the linked swf to show up.

Check your style sheets. Something is giving a link a background color. Look for something like this:
.myClass a {
background-color: #FFFF
Then remove it.

Power Adaptor Noise (the white box)

I got my macbook about 2 months ago. Recently I noticed my power adaptor has some noise, sounds z~~~~~. The noise is not very loud, you can only hear it when the environment is very quiet or when you hold the white box next to your ear. So I wonder whether is it normal? Is any of you who use macbook has the same problem?

Every now and then, a weird white box with a keyhole, gear, and lock pops up in the upper left of my screen. I can't seem to close it or move it, and when I try to use another application, it stays there and blocks features. The only way I've found to make it go away is by force closing Firefox.Why does it pop up and how do I close it? I'm on an iMac, Snow Leopard. Have the latest version of Firefox, 10.0.2.

Can I get rid of the white box behind my swf file?

I would like for the space behind my swf animation to not appear as a white box while the browser is loading the swf but rather show what is on the page behind the loading file.
I believe someone had once told me what to do to prevent this but I cannot find this info now.

Why do my tabs have no favicons other than the white box?

How do I make a white box in my master page that's intelligent enough to resize on all my other pages depending on the amount of content?

I have a tiled background image but sometimes the white box only covers half the content and my tiled image is displayed under the other half of the content... Do I have to manually make the box for each page or is there a way to attach it to both the header and footer so it expands depending on how much content is on each page while retaining my background image in only the border areas?

Muse doesn't have that specific feature. However, in may cases the desired effect can be achieved by inverting how you think about it.
Using a 100% with rectangle with a fill image for your header and another for your footer, that leaves the page fill and/or background fill image to grow and shrink to fill he space between your header and footer. If you only want one column of your page design to have this effect, you may be able to achieve that using a vertically repeating background fill image for the page or browser fill (where the fill is a horizontal band the with color only where you want the vertical column to appear.

How do I get rid of the white background in text boxes in Dreamweaver?

I use a lot of reversed text on my site, and not being able to see the text in the split view means I have to edit in the code view slows me down no end… I've tried changing the obvious view options, but can never seem to find the one that makes the boxes transparent. Here's a screengrab of the problem.
This page uses no text nav; instead uses z-index' similar to layers in photoshop, where image maps on overhangs from the pictures/pages underneath, to navigate to other pages.
But when working on it in Dreamweaver, it's a nightmare, because of the white boxes, which often almost completely obscure the layered divs underneath.
Is there no easy way 4 DW to just make these boxes transparent in the View. Switching off Style Rendering doesn't really help.

White Boxes at the Top of iPhone 5 Screen. What to do?

Just activated my new iPhone 5 (64GB). After migrating the data from my previous iPhone I noticed a line of bright boxes at the top of the screen.
The stripes are quite faded if the screen has been off for a few minutes, but then get brighter, which makes me think "hardware problem." But look at the botom right frame. Sometimes the black bar showing reception, time, and battery status overlaps the white boxes and displays just fine. Which says "software." Has anybody else experienced this? Rebooting the phone didn't solve the issue (as you can see in the top right frame).

Yeah, that's my feeling, too. I have a Genius Bar appointment set up. I'm still hoping for a fix that doesn't involve the trip (and doesn't depend on availability of the correct replacement unit.)

FLV showing up as white box?

I'm uploading 2 flv files to our website. Both flv files were edited with Media Encoder to be changed into flv. This is not the first time I have uploaded flv files to our site. We add our tv ads via flv, on average, every 2 months or so. The procedure is always the same and I did nothing different with these new flv files. However, this time, the flv files are showing up as a white box on our site instead of loading the flv players as usual. The "live view" in Dreamweaver shows the videos correctly...the flv player loads and I can watch the tv ads.
I took both ads off the page and added an old tv ad, just to see if it would work and it worked beautifully. But when I put the 2 new tv ads back on, I get the white box again. I have revisited Media Encoder and redited the tv ads, added the reedited ads back to Dreamweaver, and reuploaded, but still I get the same white box. I compared the code from the old tv ad and the new ones and the code is exactly the same (except for filename, of course). I checked to see if the new tv ads were made differently from our old ones and they were not. The expressinstall and swfobject scripts are uploaded to our site already since we use various flash files on the site (don't know if this even matters!). And each time I upload, it is uploading the skin and progressive player as well.
I am at a loss! Nothing should have changed with our hosting company. I took an old, working tv ad off our website in order to put the new ones on. I have no idea where to go from here. The specific page on our site is www.ourphf.com/currentad.html. I've tried uploading the new videos in all different sizes as well, thinking maybe it was a size issue. Please help!
