The woes of legacy computing: can I use modern software on a G4 cpu?

Task- turn a mac mini G4 powerPC into a home theater PC as a replacement for the sub-par samsung DVD player wollowing in its own filth and DOING NOTHING TO CONTRIBUTE TO ANY FORM OF ENTERTAINMENT!!!
Current stutus- Updated mac to OSX-10.5.8 and have come to a major roadblock: none of the software developers suport the old OS.
What I need- I need current versions of firefox, flash, silverlight, and java to run on this computer by any means nesesary. Does anyone know of a 10.6 workaround? I have considered putting a windows OS on it, only to realize that XP is likely the only think I can use and that I will be in this possition again in less than a year, I have also thaught about putting ubuntu on it, but there seems to be a problem with flash compatability.
I am questioning if this can even be used for this purpose. If what I ask is impossible, then I will employ my back-up plan, but I really would like to use the mini-mac, it is the right size for the job.
(If I am in the wrong forum, please tell me)

No workaround is possible. Mac OS X 10.6 will only run on a Mac with an Intel processor.

Installing Windows of any version on the Mac will be similarly impossible, or at least higfor the same reason. The only way to run Windows on a PowerPC-based Mac is via one of the old emulators, and those would be unusuably slow, in my opinion, even if they'd run XP.

You can install up to Flash Player 11.2 on Linux. If you need a newer version of Flash or have installation or compatibility problems, you'd need to take that issue up on forums for Adobe or Ubuntu.
Sorry, but most developers have ceased development for PowerPC-based Macs since those have been discontinued for almost nine years now. It's probably time to put that old G4 mini out to pasture.
Regards.
