The worst update in Apple history
I just upgraded to the newest version of iTunes (11.0.1), and what a mess. I want the old version back with its simple and logical UX design.
How do I get the older version back.
The UX for the new iTunes is simply horrible. Did UX die with Steeve Jobs???

Nearly all the features of iTunes 10.7 are still present. If you really want to revert to an earlier version a Time Machine backup would be easiest.

#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.

The latest update for apple tv (2nd gen) broke ethernet dns
After the lastest update to Apple TV (Early November 2011) the DNS over ethernet no longer works properly. The apple TV ends up with an external IP address instead of the internal IP address assigned by my Linksys router. The wireless connection works fine, but the ethernet is not usable. All my other devices on my lan work fine (iPod, iPad, computers, squeezebox, etc).
How do I file a report to Apple?Apple support had me do a software restore which fixed the problem.

I just upgraded to ilife iphoto 09. Now when I alter images in iphoto 8.1.2 the program freezes up. I have downloaded all of the latest updates from apple, but nothing seems to correct this problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List. -
After installing the newest update on apple tv, my films don't show up
I have just installed the latest update on apple tv. Now I find "Music", Podcasts, Videos and Photos on apple tv, but not my films, which are also stored in iTunes - can anybody help me there?
If these are films you have ripped, you might look under "home videos". My entire library was there and now I have to change the tag from "home movie" to "movie" to get them to show up where I want them.

Assuming this is not the first time you have used your Apple TV
You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Also try restarting the router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
If the problem persists, try a restore, you may want to try the previous procedures several times before doing this.
If restoring from the Apple TV doesn't help, try restoring from iTunes using a USB cable.
If this is a new Apple TV, in addition to trying the above, it may also be that your network router is not allowing access to the timeserver, check that your router allows access over port 123. -
forgot my apple ID , and need a hint on my associated email so i can sent a reset password , and the worst thing in apple ID forgot password page that if you typed any apple id even if its wrong it gives you that email has been sent !! how come !!
so please if anyone got any idea of how to get the hint on the mail ( i used to remember there is a hint )If all you did was rename your ID, you can go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted, then sign back in with your renamed ID. Deleting the account only deletes the account and any data you are syncing with iCloud from your phone, not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts, your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.
If, however, you are changing to a new account with a new ID, choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted. Then choose Merge when you sign into the new account and turn your iCloud syncing back on to upload your data to the new account.
Before deleting the account, save you photo stream photos to your camera roll (tap Edit, tap all the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll). -
we cannot complete the software update for apple tv. is anyone else having this problem. it gets to about 99%, then says 'unsuccessful'.

D.p.middleton the Adobe Application Manager has been available for quite some time. It not only allows Creative Cloud users to install their applications but also downloads and applies applicable updates. In addition it is also responsible for the licensing and managing your agreement to the terms and conditions of the EULA.
2. this could be due to you selecting a trial subscription to the Creative Cloud? If you go to one of the Adobe Creative products and select Help>Updates it will launch the update portion of the Adobe Application Manager which I believe is the portion you are looking for?
#3 I believe this was already mostly covered in the answer to #2.
#4 the Adobe Application Manager also receives periodic updates which affects both perpetual and Creative Cloud subscription users.
I hope this provides you many of the answers you are looking for? If not please feel free to respond back with any additional inquiries which you have. Also if you are experiencing any difficulties with the update process please post this as well. It may not be necessary to have a full understanding of the inner workings of the Adobe Application Manager to help you resolve your difficulties. -

Why is there no HBO go on the Uk update for apple tv
Can someone tell me why, no HBO on the UK update, im a bit gutted to be truthful, if there is a UK version of Apple tv why have we got american football and american this n that, i never watch it nor do others i know who have got a apple tv you should put Uk media on the box like BBC Iplayer Itvplayer and so on.

A few weeks ago I was using my Apple TV ( gen 3) and it started to automaticall do an update. That was the really long one. Ever since then I have been having more trouble getting it to connect to my WiFi and stay connected.
I just did another update and nothing seems to have changed. Please don"t tell me it's interference or I need to "reboot" the system. I've done that so many times my cats know how to do it now!
I've tried everything that I can find online and in my users guide but nothing seems to be helping except unplugging it and starting over, every time I change shows. I'm ready to toss it out a window, any ideas? And no, it doesn't seem to qualify as the models that were being replaced.I have been having the same issue and am now VERY upset because it works for about 5 minutes so I bought a movie(that you can only watch on AppleTV once you buy it) thinking it would work...but now it stopped again. I rebooted the system I even reset the thing with no luck. I got into the first 2 minutes of the movie and only have 24 hours left to watch it. At the moment I am not very satisfied with the AppleTV update and hope it is fixed and I get my 6.99$ back.

There is no place to check when the next update will be forthcoming.
You can also check to see if one has been released by depressing the 'check for update' button on the Info page of iTunes.
It will tell you if you are up-to-date with the updates.
Do not confuse the wording in the description under the subject Version. The date in the description is merely the next time that iTunes will automatically check for an update. You can check manually for an update whenever you desire. -
Thank you Apple for the worst update ever! This is what I lost last night..
I lost my messages! I lost my wireless passwords! I lost all the progress in every game I had! I lost email accounts that I had to reconfigure! I lost my mind!
What I gained? A slower iPhone that can arrange folders...
I want my things back but I guess... well you know... I guess I don't deserve it. I'm just a client to make proffit. No one in Apple will ever read this.I personally think that's a crappy response and poor assumption. Doesn't the old saying go, make an ASSumption, make an ASSoutofyourself?
I'm in the same case as the OP. I back up regularly. I keep iTunes updated. I keep Windows updated. And I did "everything right" as was instructed by Apple. Plug in. Sync. Click Update. And that's where all **** broke loose.
My download of os4 went fine. It was the update that totally wiped my data, leaving me with only ONE of my updates (from Sept 09) in tact, but still unusable, as it throws the iPhone into a continual syncing loop. It hung up on the "backup" process, and if you look through these forums, this certainly isn't an uncommon problem, and more importantly, not a FIXED problem. After about 4-5 hours of waiting for my phone to backup, I finally thought maybe it truely WAS hung up, so I tried to cancel the backup process, and since I had backed up prior to downloading, I figured it would be okay. And if that failed, I figured it wouldn't be a big deal to rollback to my last most recent backup from about a week ago. But no. I tried to backup and I got stuck in the never-ending backup loop. And then finally after Restoring and Rebooting about a dozen times, I am finally left with the realization that I have a "working" iPhone with iOS4, but absolutely NO data and NO settings. The games were the least of my concerns. I had business apps on there that I use for my freelance business. The settings of the many apps I had on there will take me DAYS to reconfigure, and that's if I remember everything easily.
