You could just try to read the xen article on the wiki as well as the discussion. It seems what's outdated is not the instructions per se but xen itself, which will require an outdated gcc for kernel compilation.

I have the CHM file. It?s OK but I would like to have a manual.
    Thanks!

I had setup Application Streaming with SCCM 2012, unfortunately performance was not comparable simply due to the fact that it take a little while for the SCCM Client to kick into action itself, which obviously has to happen before the App-V applications
are delivered. I heard another Forums user also mention that concern.

  • I have an apple tv and I am trying to homeshare but I cannot find Advanced - Turn on Homeshare on any menu or even a proper menu bar.  The User Guide and the apple site have me going round in circles - I am freezing cold and have had a bit of a sob - help

see - I am so inept I have put the full question in the wrong place! I just want to pay for films on the apple tv and sit by the fire but the computer doesnt recognise my apple tv user name or password and I have now downloades itunes but what next as I cant hjomeshare. Also they dont tell you how to pay, surely you dont sit in front of the tv and put ini your card details - equally a bill cant come in the post - I know I am a techno phobe but am I the only one who thinks this handbook and website is NOT VERY HELPFUL.

There are several fairly simple steps to get going really.
1 - Set up an itunes account if you don't have one - do this on computer using itunes - payments can be by credit card registered to an address in your country or prepaid itunes voucher cards which have codes you enter in itunes to top up account credit.
2 - Connect AppleTV to TV with HDMI and turn on
3 - Set up AppleTV network settings - ethernet works best, wifi fine for most people to.  Confirm you are connected to the internet by trying to play some free content from YouTube or Movie trailers etc.
4 - Configure your iTunes Store account in AppleTV settings - choose default of SD or HD downloads too for rentals.  Once configured you should be able to rent/buy from the menus if connected to internet - you can choose for the unit to remember your password if you're happy with that - if others might run up big bills inadvertently don't allow it to remember your password.
5 - If you want to be able to purchase things and store locally in itunes then stream across your local network to AppleTV configure Home Sharing in iTunes - it normally appears in left side of itunes but disappears once set up.
Also are you running Windows or Mac OS - the interface may differ slightly in iTunes?

  • Where is the User Guide for the MacBook Pro 13-Inch 2012?

    Hi there,
Trawling the Apple Support Manual pages (http://support.apple.com/manuals), I couldn't seem to find the correct User Guide.. even searching with my Serial Number.
I am looking for the MacBook Pro 13-inch (2012 10.8.2 Mountain Lion) User's Guide.
Searching with my Serial Number, the results are:
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) - Quick Start Guide
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) - Important Product Information Guide
Searchng manually, all i can find are:
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) - User Guide
MacBook (13-inch) - User Guide... which is the OS X v10.4 Tiger version
Is there not a "MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) - User Guide" ????
    Thanks,
    Chris

I have already worked out that there's no full User's Guide.
Why would a new mac User, like myself, want a Quick Start Guide (which came in the box), and then not want access to an actual full User Guide.
I have been using the other PDF's for general guidance, but I shouldn't have to make do with other guides.
Apple.... Is it too much to ask that my £1250 purchase comes with the proper documentation ?!

  • Backing up music - the easy guide to the best way

When getting an ipod or starting to build up an iTunes library, it is always best to back-up your music. DVD is better for larger librarys but CD is also a more lengthy option.
*DVD Burner - If you have a DVD burner, then your library can be stored on much less disks (6 700mb disks to 1 DVD disk). first you need to open up your DVD burning software. then go through into data disk. on most programs there is a button that allows you to browse your files. if you have used iTunes to put your music on your computer, then your music will be 'my music > iTunes > iTunes Music'. then add as much music as the disk can hold (usually around 4.2GB - 4.4GB and the program should say when it is full). keep doing this (making a note of the last artist to be burned) until all of your music is onto disks. Then even if your ipod needs restoring or your computer hard drive needs formatting, you will be able to add all of your music quicker than importing again.
*CD Burner - Doing a lot of music takes more time this way but can be done. start the same as above by going into your burner program and selecting around 700mb of music (it should say if it is full) and burning disk by disk your whole library being careful not to overlap on artists. when done you can have around 90-100 tracks on each disk making much quicker transfer to your computer.
This guide should help most people in need of assistance on the best way to back-up your library.

    Or this.

  • My new 6th generation ipod is not recognized by itunes or my computer. I went through all the troubleshooting steps in the help guide and the ipod is not recognized anywhere on the computer, not even as an 'unknown device.'

I can't find any answers to this question besides a discussion from 2006 regarding a "SPTD driver installation" with a broken link.  I don't think it's the cable because I can still charge the ipod, but the device is not listed in My Computer or in the Device Manager or anywhere.  The ports work with other USB cables including my web cam.   Help, anyone?

If you uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, did you follow the steps in this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 exactly. Check and make sure.  If you did, then try this support document to get the phone into the Recovery mode. It may take more than one try. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

was it a mini disk?  If so thats a problem.
    disconnect superdrive and reconnect it.
drag disk to the trash if on desktop.
    or
leave the drive plugged in and restart the computer. As it boots up, hold the eject key down.

  • A few doubts in the 'beginners guide'

Hello, I'm trying out arch (still with virtualbox), and I'm following the 'beginners guide' on the wiki.
I managed to install it but ended up with a few doubts, about some parts of the installation.
On the "Partition Hard Drives" part, it says that there are 3 types of disk partitions (primary, extended, logical), but when I'm creating the partitions with cfdisk, I can only choose between primary and logical. Does the extended gets created automatically when I create some logical partitions?
When I have to set the filesystem mountpoints, I think that I don't do anything to the /dev/sda (I only set the ones with numbers at the end - the partitions), but I don't think the wiki is clear on this, the only thing I see there is this part: "Recall that partitions end in a number. Therefore, sda is not itself a partition, but rather, signifies an entire drive" which is easily overlooked when you don't understand much.
When you need to choose the mirrors (/etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist), the wiki doesn't tell much. For example, what is the difference between choosing ftp or http servers? do you choose both? In the beginning there's a server that has as a comment #any, does this mean it will choose automatically which server it will use?
    that's it... for now :)

moosie wrote:For the hard drive part, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but sda refers to the whole drive where as sda# refers to a partition, one might say portion, of this drive; i.e sda1 would be the first partition sda2 the second and so on. As for the mirrors for the difference between ftp and http refer to this link: http://daniel.haxx.se/docs/ftp-vs-http.html  I haven't read this but it seems to be a good source of knowledge. Also for the mirrors and the install as a whole I recommend watching this youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjTTl_9aUXc in the video the reflector and curl are used to come up with the fastest mirrors based on your location and he goes through the whole installation process all the way to the point where he installs gnome.
In general, if you're not sure of something, better not to post it. Also, don't do googling for someone else, Arch users are expected to be competent to do their own research. Else you end up feeding help vampires (not necessarily saying the OP is one).

  • How do I use a runbook Activity on an Incident and Runbook Initialize Data activity to sync and get the GUid from the Incident?

I currently have a runbook running every hour to attach Incidents Templates to Problems. I would like to just add a runbook activity to the Incident Template to activate the runbook, and only link that Incident to the problem it needs to be attached to.
I don't know how to set-up my Initialize Data activity in my runbook to load the calling Incidents GUID though.
I'm very new to Orchestrator, so please be detailed in your directions.
The way my runbook works now is, I make my incident templates have the PR # they are for in the Alt Contact Block. My runbook searched for that, and then loads the PR# it has there and creates the relationship between the two, and then deletes that PR# so
it doesnt hit on the next search.
I would like my activity that calls the runbook to pass the Incident GUID to the runbook, so my runbook only has to query the PR# included in the incident, and create the relationship that way.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

    This might help:
Working With Relationships in the SCSM Orchestrator Integration Pack
Basically, you'll receive the ID of the runbook automation activity from Service Manager, which you can then use with the Get Object and Get Relationship to get the runbook activity object, then get the incident object related to it. I realize this is confusing,
but there should be more info out there to search on as well. Hope that helps.

  • Multiple devices with the same GUID

    Hi,
According to the Zenworks Command line utilities reference https://www.novell.com/documentation...a/bb15p2z.html
There exists an option to register a device with a new GUID by doing the following...
    register (reg) [-g] [-k <key>] [-u <username> -p <password] <ZENworks Server addressort>
Registers the device in a Management Zone.
You can use the following options:
g - Lets you create a new device object with a new GUID and password for the device if you have multiple devices with the same GUID. When you register a device by using this switch, all the associations (policies and bundles) assigned to the original device object are removed. You cannot use this option to create a new GUID for a Primary Server or a Satellite device. The local user must have Local Administrator rights to use this option.
I would like to know if it is possible to have such a command line option for the agent installation. So built into the agent installer, a command line option to force the agent to register with a new GUID.
We are having CONTINUOUS problems with the above scenario. When we move devices from one computer lab to another and re-image the device, Zenworks keps trying to assign the same GUID to the device and this mixes up our Dynamic Workstation groups, which then affect the applicable policies to each device.
I would like to know if there is an option to tell the installer to stop remembering the GUID and simply register the device with a new guid on agent installation.
This way we can build that into the post imaging scripts which install the zenworks agent.

    Hi Craig,
OK, I've had a look at the ZCM Reconcile rules and run a few tests to see if it is possible to get the machines not to reconcile (use a new GUID after imaging).
As I have explained before, sometimes this result is desired in our case especially when we move machines around from lab to lab.
So far, no matter what configuration I use, I cannot get Zenworks to generate a new GUID for a device that is getting re-imaged (without doing so only after the fact by unregistering the machine and reregistering the machine via the zac und and zac reg -g).
We use dynamic workstation groups to assign policies and bundles to machines so reconciling the devices is not necessary most of the time. We need an option to tell the machine to register with a new GUID on installation of the agent. Surely such an option can be built into the agent installer?
The options in the ZCM config management "reconcile settings" I tested with are:
    Serial Number - Unticked/Unselected
    Mac Address - Unticked/Unselected
    Machine Name - Unticked/Unselected
    Enable Differentiation - Unticked/Unselected
    I then also tested:
    Serial Number - Unticked/Unselected
    Mac Address - Unticked/Unselected
    Machine Name - Ticked/Selected
    Enable Differentation - Ticked/Selected
    and also:
    Serial Number - Unticked/Unselected
    Mac Address - Unticked/Unselected
    Machine Name - Ticked/Selected
    Enable Differentation - Unticked/Unselected
With all three different configurations, I re-imaged the same machine, which renames the machine via the first post imaging installation script to match the DNS name. Thereafter the Zenworks agent gets installed, which then renames the machine back to what it was registered into the Zenworks database with on first installation.
We need a method of telling Zenworks NOT to reconcile when we want it to. It should not reconcile every time and thereby rename the machine netBIOS name.
Is there any way to achieve this?

The same thing could apply if bringing in new Hardware.
If a new computer were to replace an old computer but the name stayed the same, everything could be automatic depending on the rules setup.
It is all a matter of how you tell ZCM to reconcile devices.
The Help in the ZCC under these items should explain how it works so you can setup your rules to meet your use cases.

I have configured the connector on the WAS as needed.
The problem is that when I run the application I receive an Unauthorized error on the connector URL.
If I open this URL on a browser I receive a pop-up for UID and PWD and when I enter the same UID and PWD I used to configure the connector I am able to login and see the WSDL.
    Any ideas?

I've never tried using BI in WebDynpro !!!
