Theme-Customizer

Control Panel applet to customize your theme.
With this utility you can:
change system font family
change system font size
change font colors
change application shortcut sizes at homescreen
show or hide the backgrounds for application shortcuts at homescreen
change web bookmars sizes at homescreen
adjust snap to grid value at homescreen.
if you have rootsh and EXTRAS-DEVEL installed:
open xterm
sudo gainroot
apt-get install theme-customizer
you can change the size of the desktop web shortcuts sizes, so that you can put more on your desktop!
other features are much like the black-plastic theme, other then you dont have to have black plastic installed.

no no no its not a problem, its just that cssu uses a different version of hildon-desktop, so yeah cssu doesn't support changing bookmarks and desktop icons size yet, maybe in the next update (along with the portrait task manager and the tree look email app ) .
but i think a :' apt-get -f reinstall hildon-desktop ' might do the trick ......

  • [SOLVED] XFCE Theme Customization Tool

    Good evening Arch Community,
Now that LXDE (My DE of choice) is about to be dropped from the normal repos, I felt it time to move to a supported DE. My next choice was XFCE. I'm sorry that Arch has decided to slowly move LXDE to the AUR from the mainstream repos.
XFCE is a nice, and capable DE. But it has always been an achilles heel to me with regard to theme customizations. But tweaking theme colors is no easy task. With LXDE, I could easily "tweak" the theme setting to my preferences. The white background hurts my old eyes.
In XFCE it seems that you have to understand the nuances of the gtkrc file to tweak theme colors. I don't have the time, nor the desire to become a gtkrc file format aficionado. I've got dev work I need to do.
I am hoping that the Arch community can point me to a GUI tool that will allow me to tweak theme settings graphically, just like the other DE's such as LXDE, KDE, Gnome 2. I have personal preferences for not using KDE, and I have to bite my lip regarding Gnome3.
XFCE would work for me if I can just get through two color changes. just two. If I can tweak these, I'll be a happy camper indeed.
I've also posted to the XFCE forums, but, unfortuntely, as usual when I ask color questions, I get categorically blown off. Clearly, the lack of an easy theme tweaking tool being a weak spot for XFCE as a DE.
I've gone through all the themes......and downloaded some new ones. I just do not like the xfce.dusk theme, nor the white backgrounds of the others.
I am using Moomex as a theme, and just want to tweak two settings:
    a) The default background color of an opened window
    b) The bg/fg colors of the WindowButton items on the task bar. Currently the WindowButton's of opened tasks show up as white text on a very light grey background. Difficult if not impossible to read.
If someone could point me towards a tool I would be appreciative. Or if someone knows the two magic field names that I need to tweak in my gtkrc file of my current theme to change the two items outlines above, I would also be appreciative.
    Sincerely and respectfully,
    Dave

Forgive me for being too verbose. Within XFCE there is no mechanism to adjust theme colors. Example: Within a specific theme, there is no GUI dialog to open, and adjust the default window background of the chosen theme. You are forced to manually edit the gtkrc file. In LXDE, I have a small GUI where I can take my chosen theme, and adjust the color of a selected item, in this case, the window background. A few clicks, and it's done.
There is no such facility in XFCE.
From what I've read (unless I'm misunderstanding) is that the color changer in LXDE is specific to LXDE. It actually doesn't tweak the original gtkrc file, rather it tweaks some settings in a local file unto itself and by some mechanism unknown to me at this time, "melds" the original gtkrc file with the customizations by the user. I've looked at the original gtkrc files in "/usr/share/themes" after I've tweaked them. They are unchanged.
For now, I've reverted to an LXDE/OpenBox hybrid. I hope someone in Arch decides that LXDE is worth keeping in the repos, like e16 & e17.
I had originally tried XFCE because Arch had announced that LXDE was being reverted to the AUR and out of the official repos.
    Hopefully, this clarifies things.
    Thanks!
    Dave

  • Styles and Themes - CUSTOMIZATION

    Hi everyone,
do you know if is it possible to customize styles in Xcelsius or to create owner styles and themes (for ex. like  ADMIRAL, AQUA, ELAN...) ???
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi LC
No you can't.  Take a look at this thread and also the threads/urls it references:

  • Sliding Panels Theme:: Customization??

    Hey all,
I just got iLife09 and am building a slideshow using the Sliding Panel Theme. It's a great theme but I have a few road blocks that I hope to overcome.
    1. Sometimes the theme chooses a different number of photo slides to show at once. It might be one large pic, all the way up to an arrangement of 5 pics. *Is there anyway that I can choose how many slides are displayed at once?*
    2. If I go to the settings and try to change the minimum seconds a slide will stay on, it says I can't go lower than 3 seconds. If I try to tell an individual slide to stay on for 1 sec, it resets to 3 seconds. The strange thing is, sometimes, it will actually change after 1 second even though the settings say 3 seconds. I have to keep trying to tweak the settings to get it to do what I want, but the settings always say 3 seconds.
I hope that last one makes sense.
    Thanks

No, you can't customize the theme. ☹ You'll have to make do with the standard for just one slide at a time or try a 3rd party slideshow application like PhotoPresenter which has over 25 animated themes. This demo page has examples of a number of them: PhotoPresenter Animated Slideshow Themes.

  • Theme customization in ABAP WebDynpro

    >server metnioned above : is it portal server and port details
No this isn't the portal server.  If you are running in the portal then you don't need this approach at all. The iView will automatically take on the customized portal theme as long as you have maintained the portal support package level along with the backend ABAP AS SP level.
    >and what is the <application> here in the url..
    Your web dynpro ABAP application.
    ><folderOfYourCustomTheme>---here we need to give the folder name of our application in WebDynpro ABAP
No.  The MIME folder where you stored your customized theme.

    Hi..
I tried this approach and also the approach mentioned in below link
    [Re: How to call custom themes for Web Dynpro ABAP Application?;
still unable to get the solution.
I tried the method to run a report WD_THEME n upload the theme. getting version mismatch error.
Request some one to clearly explain the step by step process to use the custom themes in ABAP WebDynpro.

  • Cannot use elementary icons themes after upgrading to GTK+-2.22.0 ?

    Hello All,
After upgrading to GTK+-2.22.0, elementary icons look horribly wrong for some reason. I thought maybe i need to download the icons themes again (https://launchpad.net/elementaryicons/+download) so i did download the latest elementary icons and install them in ~/icons. However, the icons themes dont look the way they should look. Therefore, I am not sure what i did wrong, or if it had to do with upgrading to GTK+-2.22.0 and i am wondering if i am missing something or need to change some setting.
I am using Xface4 as my Desktop Environments.
Any help would be much appreciated.

After upgrading, almost all of my icon themes are broken, including Elementary, which is the only one I actually care about.
    *EDIT*
Recent update to libpng seems to have solved it for me.  They still don't display properly in the "Appearance -> Theme -> Customize... -> Icons" dialog, but they display properly in Nautilus and on the panels.

  • Black Plastic Theme

Black Plastic has been changed completely and is a very thourough theme.
d-livil has done an incredible job making this theme and updates it regularly.
i forget to OC my device haldf the time because this theme runs soo smooth on the n900 even at 600mhz!
    IT IS A MUST HAVE!!!!
the main black plastic theme is now split into 3 different packages....the main holds the black plastic basic theme and there are 2 addon packs that include other types of themes that are easily changable and still very fluid!   they even have customized icons included.
for some of you who are looking at the meego stuff, you will proly like the pleego theme in the addon pack 2.
you can choose to have what ever font you want, type of transitions, standard or plastic theme, and theme style/color.
below is the code to install all the packs at the same time.   it is about 35MB total, so do it on wifi or 3.5g to aspeed it up.
its faster to use xterm, ut you can go through the app manager too.
    open xterm
    sudo gainroot
    apt-get install black-plastic-theme plastic-addon-pack-1 plastic-addon-pack-2 -y
ENJOY....and if this was good for you,...share your thanks with a kudo.

    Hello,
What font is the "cursive-like" font that is being used here Ceroberts75?  I do not see it on my drop-down list in the Plastic Theme Setup.
the font is called tabitha.   you can dl the ttf file from any website woth fonts for free.  i will try to attach it to this post,  but not sure the site will allow me.
hen drop the ttf file to the folder
    /usr/share/fonts
open the theme customizer again and you should see the fvont there now.
as for the shortcuts/bookmarks,   if you look at my screen shots,   they have no borders at all or any type set.   just the ppix icon now to take less space.
if you want the original settings,  just inoinstall the theme customizer and it will restore.  if it is just the fonts you are worried about,  there is a drop down  menu on the top right.   choose default.

  • My N900 is not showing Network signal

I have been using my N900 since last 13 months everything was working fine. Suddenly it stopped showing network signal. I took it to nokia care they looked at it and I dont know what updates they did. They changed some ICs and charged me heavily but still they couldn't fix it. They assume its due to some issue in motherboard. Now my warranty has lapsed they are asking very huge amount to fix the issue. People always advised me not to buy costly nokia phones as their quality is very inferior. Nokia has really made a fool of me by selling such a substandard hardware. I should have bought Iphone atleast my money won't have gone waste.

now this can be a stupid icons problem, enable devels and install powatool and check for "connui cellular" in the statusbar options, check it and uncheck it and retry ........
and try this : install theme customizer, and the symbian-anna icon pack (or any icon pack that changes the signal bars icons) change the icons and reboot .
    and finally can you type this command in x-terminal : dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=com.nokia.phone.net /com/nokia/phone/net Phone.Net.get_signal_strength | awk 'NR==3 {print "-"$2" dBm"}'
and than click enter , take a screenshot (ctrl+shift+p) and post it here .

  • I'm a designer not a coder. Is Dw best for me?

I want to build some beautiful reactive websites but I'm best at design and not so much code. I can do HTML and CSS but php and java just won't stick with me. I was thinking about buying a few really good reactive blogs that allow me to re-design the template. Would Dreamweaver be the best program out of all of adobe for doing this job? Maybe I should use indesign or another adobe product? Please advise. Thanks in advance.

WordPress Themes drive the site's appearance as well as functionality.  Not every Theme is going to be right for every person or situation.  You wouldn't want to use a Real Estate Theme for a Food blog or a Photography site.
Right now, there are about  a zillion WP Themes out there -- both free and commercial.  Most of the current ones are based on the Bootstrap responsive framework.  I think you should learn to work with Bootstrap first.
Bootstrap · The world's most popular mobile-first and responsive front-end framework.
Then learn how WP Themes work and what the coding requirements are -- with CSS and PHP files.
